Or just ignore family texts when they are to annoying, and then at the next family get together, when asked why youre ignoring them, just say thwy where annoying and the family gathering will be more lively and you wont have annoying messages for a while
Kinda reminded me of my own situation. I was proposed before my big sister (3 years older). She never said it but mom said she cried and begged me not to get marry before my sister. I didn't like her plea but I ended up breaking the engagement anyway (we're just not to be), and went out with other guys afterward. My sister soon got proposed, to be honest my BIL is not bad but I just thought that she could do better and the situation with her felt like she accepted just to not get jumped over by me and wanted to leave home soon, the 2 bad reasons to get married in my opinion. The night before the wedding I asked my sister again if she truly wanted to get married and if anything I could help her runaway. She said she was ok but I know her for more than 2 decades so I asked why she marry BIL and she said "there's no reason to refuse him", which is the worst reason of all to get married in my opinion. I never hate my BIL, I just keep a distance from them now that they're husband and wife so I wouldn't seem nosy. The girls in my family somehow always get married by 24, not for me tho. I kept dating, breaking hearts, and fell in new love past that age which concerned my family much but I certainly knew I wasn't ready yet for the highest tier for commitment and just busied myself with my job until I turned 29 and met my now husband and just a few months after wedding I got pregnant. In my smallest deepest part of my heart I know it shouldn't be a problem, but my family treated my pregnancy like they need to hide it from my sister who's yet pregnant after 8 years of marriage. It felt awkward to tell my sister and after 8 years of distance I'm not confident anymore to say I know her well, but she said congratulation and I hang on that positiveness. Poor husband faint in the slightest sight of blood, so I don't know if it's ok to ask my sister to be in delivery room, she's the sister I love all my life so I want her to be part of my experience but I don't know if it'd hurt her instead
I was going to reply just to say "Ask her!" and then say something positive like "You'll make the best Auntie!", but I see that your post was over a year ago! I hope things worked out well for both you and your sister. 💗😊

Was all that squawking and screeching necessary? It's given me a right old headache now, listening to that.
Wait. I thought she said she didnt care about material things and yet she has a lavish wedding and talks about having the finer things in life?
If someone keeps on asking and talking about me and my partners financial situation, over and over again, the only approriate response is "shut the f up".
