Despite the author being involved in the production, I still look forward to seeing Zhang Xingcheng with Ding Yuxi. I think he was good as Fei Du but yeah, I didn't feel anything with him and the other guy. Maybe I'm wrong but I got the impression that Zhang Xingcheng could do the chemistry thing with different people quite well. Something wasn't right there. Let's hope that Sanshu won't ruin at least something so that the drama is somewhat watchable. I mean there were some nice parts in the Reunion and then I skipped the rest. I'd count that as a success.

Dear Avenue X, when I first started to watch Chinese dramas (I had been watching Chinese films for decades), I told my friends that there were only about seven basic stories, no matter the culture. However, Chinese films and dramas told the stories in a totally refreshing and different way. Unfortunately, this has changed lately. In the 'emperor' dramas, this year has been the worst. I enjoyed Cecilia Liu's Journey to Love, but not much else. Now we have 'Blossom'. I, too, hope it stays at the 3 goldmine level because I am enjoying it immensely.
I am currently enjoying Singapore Christmas, which makes a similar amount of sense I think, its 30 degrees outside and the malls are all full of fir trees and fake snow

According to the Baidu page on this drama, this is an original production. The drama name confuses readers as there is indeed a spin-off book in the Daomu series 藏海花. But the characters in that book doesn’t seem to be the same as this TV series. I was under the same impression when news of this drama broke.
I wonder if Guo Jing Ming is going to change or keep Ju Jing Li's look for Veil of Shadows/Painted Skin: The Resurrection. Strongly held aesthetics on both sides.
I wonder why you are okay with Under the Skin 2. For me, it is just a disappointment. I watched the first season many times, and it was so good. I expected so much from the second season: a captivating plot, interesting interactions, difficult cases, and so on. But what we got was a psychological drama with ridiculous cases, a boring storyline, and I’m so unhappy with it! They changed the main characteristics of each character, and the story turned into an emotional drama instead of the captivating criminal thriller that the first season was 😢
South bureau- the two leads don't look like they belong to the republican era, specially their hairstyles I want to watch zhang hai zhuan just to see zhong hanliang in ancient costumes. His appearence of milliseconds in the trailer is all drama!!
Under The Skin S2 is a collection of random cases with no common thread... I only liked the case of the blind boy, and I have a lot of complaints, especially about the superficiality and incoherence of the plot. I don't know if I want to watch any more... "The cliff case" was awful, bad acting, long and boring... and now the cop girl and her junk collector complex.... How is it that you are okay with this show?
I agree with every word you have said and they marginalized Du Chung character to this silly useless and kind of stupid sidekick. I am more than disappointed. They don't have any center case or story to follow for this season and every case is getting more boring that I have been fast forwarding all the episodes. I don't know how can they ruin such a wonderful cast and great potential.

I was thinking, like, they made it not a criminal bureau, but more like a psychological center. All the cases are about different emotions and psychological issues of some characters. I can accept it but nor really. I cry when I remember how amazing was the scene in the first season when he broke his soul trying to reconstruct the girl's face by rebuilding every muscle with clay on a skull...
