- Low Notes Compilation of Russian basso profundo Alexander Ort (Александр Орт).
Alexander Ort (1951-2021) has sung with the State Capella Choir of St. Petersburg as well as the Alexander-Nevsky Male Choir. He does very little solo roles, his only recorded one being the "Great Litany." He sings in the church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God. Ort has also done some voice acting work--most notably in the movie "Purgatory" (1997).
Quite a tough video to do as there's not many recordings of Ort available, thats why the video is kanda short and some clips are not clearly audible.

8:30 thanks for watching! :)
Miller must really miss him, they have been singing together for 3 decades😔
that made me sad
RIP Ort.
may the legend rest in peace..what a great voice
I have to say, out of all the singers, when he struck the lower notes, it really did sound like a church organ. Perfect "metal" sound an Antonio Pappano refers to it as.
Great bass!
agreed
Always been in amazement hearing singers like Ort, the two Millers, and Zlatopolsky, who can/could acoustically sing with a choir below A1. I have always gotten sideways looks for my extremely low speaking voice and can easily hit bass notes below A1... but only the latter on-mic. A1 is my projection limit singing with a choir - can do a G1 during quieter sections, but that's my absolute limit off-mic. A D1 in that setting is unthinkable for me to accomplish in chest; even on-mic, in reality.
Its kind of sad that we will never reach their greatness no matter how much we try.
@@BangYongguk-sf8ly, I actually got some singing advice from Vladimir Miller after commenting on one of his videos. It was in Russian, so I had to translate it. He just told me to relax and it would come. In my head, I was like, "Sure, Mr. Miller, I will just relax and belt out an E1 the way you do," lol. Seriously, though, it made my day a legend took the time to reply to little old me.
I also commented on his video that his voice is awsome and he replied thank you. A pretty nice guy.
But your voice is still awsome, being able to hit a G1 and low.
I bottom out at E2 🤣
!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was not expecting this
Nice video. There’s limited stuff on Ort but this is a good compilation
3:56 I believe the songs called “rubbish”

ah yes!
Could you do one video about the basso profondo Andrey Kurilov?
😢RIP
Can You do a Yuri Wichniakov one?
7:01 Wasn't Sergey Kochetov in that oktavist section, too?
I don't think so, the description says that there's only Alexander Ort, Andrey Kurilov, Mikhail Kruglov, and Vladimir Miller
@@danielphendarko2651 I thought there were five oktavists.
Kochetev might be obscured from view. I tried so hard to find him
Загадочная русская душа )))
