This Christmas the Northern Ireland Tourist Board gave the Monroe family from Ohio a very special welcome home. They flew into George Best Belfast City Airport and were reunited with family for the first time in years to enjoy Christmas together in Northern Ireland.
As Roisin, Brandon, and Kaeli-Anne walked through arrivals, they were given a fantastic surprise welcome by Belfast Community Gospel Choir, who, dressed as ordinary bystanders and airline pilots burst into a superb rendition of 'Joy to the World' -- a real show stopping welcome to start off a really special family Christmas in Northern Ireland!

My wee sister is in this video as part of the choir. She had been diagnosed with terminal cancer prior to the event - you wouldn't have known it from her enthusiasm and joyful passion on the day. This choir meant so much to her and brought her so much joy and peace - I hope it can do the same for you. She peacefully slept her way into Eternity on 5th October 2014. This choir sang at her funeral - and she would have loved it. God Bless !

What a great arrangement of this song! Who knew an Irish choir could sound like a church choir from the deep south (of the USA...)?
This shows the true spirit of the people of N.Ireland. The troubles brought the worst out in some, but the best out of Most and I hope that spirit continues to survive long into the future.
What an amazing feeling it would be to feel so much Love in one place having been alone for 11 years now I hope I have the chance before I die but sadly I don't think it will happen because I don't have much longer to live just got some horrible news from my doctor :-(

every single person in the State of Northern Ireland knows at least ONE family that was affected by the sad troubles. Yet they have come back from hell, literally, to show there is no room for bigotry or racism on this planet. i am from dublin in the south and find the ulster people to still retain our irish friendliness. inthe south, we have lost it, all because of the so-called celtic tiger. god bless you all in ulster and i hope you DO overcome your fears of "the other side". smile at them a bit more and they will smile back at you! try it and see. it works. do not be afraid anymore.

As an American, in my limited travels, the nicest people I have ever met were in Northern Ireland. I am so glad that 18 years ago I met one of them in Florida and later married her. She introduced me to Ireland and I am a richer person for it. Hope to get back again before too long. Loved the video!

Awesome... i worked in Belfast and the people are lovely... i miss the city hall during Christmas time.. it is beautifully decorated with the tallest Christmas tree and the night market...
