Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St James are adults only all inclusive resorts near Montego Bay Jamaica.
What's the difference between Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St James?
Secrets St James has the spa and fitness center. Secrets Wild Orchid has most of the restaurants. Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St James both have Preferred Clubs. All guests have full access between the two resorts.

What I love about these resorts:
Active nightlife - Secrets Wild Orchid has a great plaza area with outdoor seating for the restaurants and an outdoor stage. It makes the evenings very lively. Secrets Wild Orchid also has an air conditioned disco for those who enjoy dancing to the wee hours. A jerk chicken cart begins making the rounds each day between 11 pm - 2 am for the late night crowd. The cart starts on the Secrets St James side and ends on the Secrets Wild Orchid side.
Great Preferred Club - The Preferred Club here is worth it. You'll get access to a Preferred Club pool and beach area at both Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St James. The buffet can get very busy so I like eating a light breakfast in the Preferred Club lounge.
Comfortable junior suites - The Secrets Wild Orchid junior suites and the Secrets St James junior suites have the best Jacuzzi tub. It's so relaxing.
Active pools with swim up bars - If you want quiet - you head to the Preferred Club pools. If you want active, head to the main pools. Both Secrets St James and Secrets Wild Orchid have a main pool with swim up bar that hosts activities during the day. I also like there's a front pool with an infinity edge that's not connected to the swim up bar pool.
Close to the airport - The resorts are about 25 minutes from the airport.
The Trade-offs
Minimal Beach - This coast of Jamaica has a big problem with erosion so the beach is small. It can be a little rocky. You also have to watch out for jelly fish during certain times of the year.
Adequate dining - The dining is decent. It may not be the best meal you ever ate, but you will enjoy most of what you try.

The St James preferred pool is away from the noisier pool but then you are right next next to the Breathless beach area and they very often play loud loud music and have parties there as well.

In general, no.
They do! You have to book the preferred club option!
Looking to travel there in nov. From the video i would choose wild orchild being closer to the restaurants. I was leaning toward the swim outs but not much privacy from the video. Preferred club might be best but i would want a great view as well.
Angie Lusk so swim out with bay view, you think would be best options. I believe in the video at st james their swim out was right adjacent to the other pulls so i can imagine when its crowded. Maybe play it safe with preferred suite and save swim out for next trip after we get a feel for the resort
Thanks Angie for the informative vid. It does not appear that the swim up room "pools" are not connected to the main pool areas and are always very cold. Is this a gimmick or even worth the extra cost?

Angie - I want a luxurious all inclusive.. recently stayed Royal Service in a 1 bedroom swim out room at Paradisus LaPerla in playa... what resort would you recommend that has a similar vibe but a better beach with clear water? Can be anywhere in the Caribbean? Swim out room a plus.

Thank you for the great in depth review. My wife and I will be staying at breathless but enjoying them all. Curious as to where the sun rises and sun sets? Also want to plan for the best time to get the most sun. From your video it looks like the morning and the sun is behind the secrets hotel?
The resort faces north west so the sun will rise behind the resort and set over the ocean. The Breathless pool will have the most sun in the morning and the Secrets pools will have the most sun in the afternoons.

That's the subject of the video. I show and explain how the resorts are laid out and what the differences are.
Is preferred club for both resorts? I’m trying to decide where to book. I booking my children (young adults) at Breathless. I want to be able to visit and hang with them. I was told preferred club has access.
My understanding was that if you book Preferred Club at Secrets - access to Breathless is not guaranteed. Preferred Club at Secrets is so much bigger than Breathless. The Secrets guests would overrun the resort. If you want guaranteed access to Breathless, I recommend booking at Breathless. Or book with the travel agent that said access to Breathless was included. I haven't double checked recently.
Will you go again soon because I found out there's a lot of changes? Good and bad.

@@TripswithAngie Yes they took somethings away. Like birds, ice cream machine. From Jamaica feel to more Mexican theme. I have never been but book my trip next year in April based on your review. Someone said they are doing a remodel on the secret orchid side which was an inconvenience to guess. I enjoy your reviews keep it up.
