Really interesting to see the difference between how keen they are on the hickory nuts & how unenthusiastic most of them seemed to be with the macadamia nuts you offered them a short while ago. There’s no doubt which one is favourite! Lovely to see Pierce looking so well & he & George being so close to each other & everything remaining peaceful. Plus Hodary & Cutie are super sweet & beautiful as always (not to mention so gentle & tender when they’re holding your hand!) 😍 Thank you for always being so kind to your visitors & for sharing the joyful results with all of us 🤗❤️🐿
I love squirrels so these videos are great. I live in the UK and have a woodland on a hillside that starts at the end of my garden and is full of squirrels every year. I have a pear tree in my garden and this year, out of hundreds of potential pears, I ended up with literally ONE! Guess who ate the rest. 😂
Hello, dear Natalie, and hello to everyone! You are so kind to take care of these little things! ❤️🥰🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿 🐿 And they feel it too, it's true that Cutie is the sweetest, but they all love you, I think they know that you take care of them. of course, maybe I'm wrong, but animals do "feel and know" things. Hugs and greetings to all dear members! Judit, from Budapest
I grew up cracking hickory nuts with a hammer on the sidewalk. My best friend and I loved them. I haven’t had one in fifty years and, thanks to you, I’m going to order some! The squirrels kept a smile on my face throughout the entire video.
So lovely to find a new treat that they all like! About 2 minutes into the video I noticed that when Pierce was eating, his ear was “wiggling”. After that I was watching all their ears but it only seemed to be Pierce haha. (Now I’m going to be watching his ears in future videos too!)
I go to a nearby state park and gather acorns and hickory nuts for the squirrels on my patio. The supply is so great this year, I don't feel guilty sharing a little baggie of them with MY critters! And, yes, the squirrels LOVE the "wild" nuts. Bon appetite, squirrels. ❤
One of the nut companies out there needs to give you a sponsorship!! I love this channel so much 🥰 thank you for all the videos you take and share with us! 💖
It's a bit expensive, but these fellas should try Brazilian nuts. I gave some to my squirrel friends a few years ago and I swear some of them were doing the Brazilian Samba dance for me. These squirrels must think you're a powerful magician to create for them such wonderful food that their environment doesn't produce naturally.
Yaaayy! I have two Shagbark Hickory Trees that started producing last year. I'm so excited. Also, in addition to the raccoons, I FINALLY have a squirrel that comes to my door and will accept nuts from a foot away. Sweet Sweet Connie. I'm getting there!!❤❤❤
She looks like a Billie to me. I have a new friend that travels pretty far to get to me. I call him E.B. Early Bird. He's always at my door an hour before anyone else
We had a hickory nut tree in our front yard when I was a kid. It was full of squirrels and we always knew they were up there because shell pieces would rain down from the tree. They're good to eat too. They taste similar to a walnut.
I always collect nuts and berries on my walks. I filled my whole forage pouch with hickory nuts. It’s something we don’t have around the neighborhood. First time I gave them to momma she looked back at me in approval, then wouldn’t leave my side till she ate four more 😂 I took the hint and went to the next tree the next day. Not sure if they were that good, or just something she can’t get on her own. Was funny, she’s never reacted that way. It definitely made me smile
The 7th US President was Andrew Jackson, nicknamed Old Hickory for his strength and stubbornness. So as others have suggested, it might be an appropriate name for one of the unnamed squirrels! 😉
that's interesting that they sell hickory nuts on Amazon....I don't have a tree in my yard, but down the street there are hickory trees, and I bring back a handful or so at a time for "my" squirrels 😁....I had done some research, b/c when I'd see squirrels burying nuts it seemed so random, and I wondered how they'd ever find them again....apparently they have a highly advanced "map" of the territory, so to speak!? when they bury them it isn't random at all, and they usually bury the same varieties in groups (walnuts, hickory nuts, etc.)....they also shake the shells, and turn them around and around, to make sure they're solid, with no cracks or holes in them (otherwise the nuts would go bad)....fascinating stuff!!!
Wow. I'm going to have to try and find some of these nuts to try myself. They all have such beautiful coats. You really can tell that what you provide really does make such an incredible difference to their well-being. ❤ from Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺
They are all so adorable, but Cutie is a flipping star. She would win "American Squirrel-idol hands down. I don't have a favorite, I love them all. Cutie's just got it going on as far as star quality... she works that camera and has no clue she's doing it!
After seeing George balancing on the bush like that, with his hands praying, I just NEED to make some squirrels to put on the Christmas tree this year! That would be sooo cute. Maybe you could merchandise something like that: clip on little fake-fur squirrels. Little, little ones. A few inches tall. What you call Hickory nuts looks like what we call Walnuts here in South Africa?
Aah, good catch Ma'am! Hickory nuts! Are they native? perhaps this why the success! They look like walnuts, but much vitamin mineral content? super nut catch for new years 2024! All ate loving, such sweeties these with no names, everyone looking nice and plump coats, 🙏💞👐💖🎶💗💓awwh, frozen Squirrel on plate looked to be taking in a moment / memory of another Squirrel who'd been visiting the bowl or picking up scent, Pierce! awww, everyone's funny, Cutie and that runaway when you offered her unshelled 😊Earl needs more he seems affected by WiFi, neurological issues like all our wildlife, you do superlative job Ma'am, little no name today liked to stuff cheeks abit! Chipmonky like! 😇💞👐💖🙏👍🐾🌰🌲🍃
Hickory nuts are a huge win! Pierce adores you for providing them. The love and thanks in his eyes at 2:49 melts my heart. Love too that Cutie prefers to be hand fed. So happy to see them enjoying this treat!
The opened hickory nuts were clearly a hit, but the unopened ones not nearly as much, but I guess it´s logical to always take care of your immediate hunger first before thinking of storage.
Our Boston Common squirrels love longan. Sometimes, just having bought it, I would stop by to feed the little fellas their usual treats, and they would manage to steal a few longan from me, naughty as they are ☺️ Good longan is expensive, but it made me happy to see them enjoy some
They all look healthy and happy because you're feeding and loving them. God bless your kind heart and God bless your squirrel babies. I am doing the same thing too. I am feeding squirrels and they have names too. I can recognize who is who. They have their own characteristics and they are all lovable
I would name that first squirrel Rusty because the little orange patches look like rust spots to me. Thanks for sharing the squirrels with us, as always! 💗🙏💗
Ohhhhhh!! The hickory nuts were a big hit with everybody! Thank you for sharing the link. I can't wait to see if my guys like them, too. Was that George scrambling over and off the bush right at the end? Hehe 💗
I love them all, but Cutie is my favourite. It's interesting that they took the ones in shell even tho they had cracks. Usually they turn them around a minute to check that they don't have cracks. Maybe they liked them so much that it didn't matter.
I'll have to try some hickory nuts with my squirrels. They have never had those. They don't grow here in Washington, but they like Brazil nuts and those don't grow here either.
They are all so precious and all enjoy the hickory nuts. I will have to investigate getting them for my squirrels. But mine are voracious and it’s getting pretty expensive to feed them!
Maybe name the squirrel with no name: "America" That band did the song: "A horse with no name'" ;) :) Hope you're having a great New Yr. thus far. Blessings! :)
You should name one of the squirrels that doesn't have a name yet Hickory. I think Owl would be a good name for another one. You have the cutest squirrels! ❤
“Hickory Nuts” was the name of my college rock-a-billy band. It was formed from the break-up of 2 other bands called the “Kashmir Cashews” and the “Piccadilly Peanuts.” It was a time in my life I was finally coming out of my shell. 🥜

Winner Winner, hickory nuts for dinner!!😊
Ha! I was gonna comment that and you beat me to it!
Hahahaha
The new squirrel. Let's name him/her Hickory!!
I love Earl’s reaction. He’s like, “Woah! She’s got hickory nuts! Let’s go!” 🎉
They’re all so beautiful. Have you ever noticed how Pierce’s ears wiggle when he eats?! 😁❤️🐿
Yeah, he is quite a special squirrel 😊🐿️❤️
I love Cutie! She's such a doodle bug! ❤
Wow, no time for hoarding, they steamed straight into them!!

Do Hickory nuts taste like Walnuts? The squirrels I feed in my garden love Walnuts :)
These squirrels' ancestors probably ate hickory nuts for millennia. I would think that they would love them.
