The story behind the January month:
Jallikattu is a sport(rough translation is bull taming) which is followed by thamizhans for 1000's of years... Jallikattu is played during the month of January on the occasion of pongal festival.. The main idea behind the sport is to identify the bull and its owner, It is believed that the bull which is not tamed during the jallikattu sport is the highest native breed of bull and it has the highest stamina and so those bulls are used for mating and so result of that we get good quality native breed cows/bulls.. So the standard of milk produced from these cows are high in energy... This is the main idea behind the sport.... Let me now come to the January question.. Actually there is an NGO in India called as PETA(Animal welfare NGO) they wanted to ban the sport for money( huge hidden politics behind it) ... So we thamizhans started protesting against this ban from December and continued this protest for nearly a month and we won on January (Supreme Court of India ordered that jallikattu can't be banned as it is our tradition) .Since we won this protest on January the lyricist and the subtitilist have mentioned it like that ... If you find time do check out about jallikattu, jallikattu protest... Your respect for Thamizh will still grow..... And Thamizh is the oldest language in the world and it is proved... You can also check that..

You right.. Tamil was oldest language.. some controversies are there. Greek and Latin have some root words of tamil. So some Archeologist said tamil is older than Greek and Latin language.. On January month was Tamil festival called pongal(Harvest festival) was celebrated. That day celebrated pongal in historical culture way. The day to remember all the old culture of tamil generation.

Actually this song's first part was shows Punjab culture( india northern part) because heroine's (his wife) native was Punjab. So on that big turbans used Punjabi old men. After then he get train and come back to Tamilnadu'(southern part of India) that show the tamil culture ( commonly it's called Holi actually it was 'Manjal nirattu(yellow water) thiruvila(festival)' in Tamil, and way of cultural marriage function) this song was an unofficial Tamil Anthem.

@@HodhodBeingFilmy you always welcome. And one more detail is that yellow water was made by Turmeric powder+Water. Turmeric powder was a anti-biotic. It kills gems. So on Ancestors celebrate this festival to clean the city by splash the turmeric water in celebration way.
