- Parody of old Slinky commercials, features people happily singing the Amigo's praises while dressed in vintage garb. I originally thought this was a spoof of the Ren and Stimpy "Log" commercials, but obviously John Kricfalusi got the idea from the 1970's Slinky commercials.

My grandfather is the guy dressed like the farmer... I was looking up different projects he was in, and I thought I'd give this commercial a shot.... I can't believe I found it.... thank you for posting this commercial up... You have no idea how happy its made me!

This is one of my favorite commercials of all time. It constantly gets stuck in my head, usually while driving by the local court house. I remember when i first saw it. I was one of those moments where your like "did i really just see that".

I remember this commercial... the way footage looks one could mistake it from being out of the 70s.
I woke up singing this jingle and I haven’t heart it in 25 years. I thought my brain was playing tricks on since this is the slinky song I thought my brain added “amigo” lyric at the end. Then I searched and found that the brain is an incredible machine I wonder what other gems I have forgotten and are nearly hiding in my subconscious. 🤔

I just got a 99 amigo in near mint condition, for a good price too, it even still drives like a new car. My friend pointed out that the commercial used to get stuck in his head, and I couldn't think of it so I looked it up. Don't know why I don't remember this I was 18 in 98, I was probably too busy smoking pot and breaking into concerts.

I remember this commercial and my mom being so creeped out by the people dressed like extras from The Brady Bunch. I had a neighbor who drove one that was red and she ended up totalling it somehow. Memories.

Those Slinky commercials were around for years and years they started in the 1950s and were even around when I was a kid
I've heard and seen the original source from which this was parodied. It was a Slinky commercial from the 1960s, showcasing the original Slinky, a Slinky dog, and a Slinky-Mobile.

I was so fascinated by this song I searched for its origins. Apparently Isuzu ripped off a Slinky commerical and for one reason or another this commercial was pulled after two months.
A 1970s commercial in 1997. They even got the washed out film look and the low quality announcer voice down.

Many toy commercials would end with the words "Batteries not included." The Amigo commercial is a parody of the original Slinky toy ads, and as a joke they added "Battery included," because cars come with batteries.
