the way Ethan ran, it looked liked he could've gone earlier.

he really tried, but Colin Sahlman was racing smart (but selfish) and was holding Ethan wide and matching his moves every curve so it took about 3 attempts before Ethan finally managed to run wide and break Sahlman.

@@ningkaiyang nah, I disagree. he passed Colin a little after 1,200 and his kick was explosive. even before he kicked, he blew by Sahlman.

@ He had an explosive kick for sure, and he definitely could have gone earlier if Colin wasn't there, but I'm saying Colin being there prevented him from moving as early because he was protecting his space and being a wall and forcing him so wide so he couldn't easily try to pass until Colin was slowing

As an above average runner in HS, this kid is awesome. I have watched guys give every ounce of their stamina and guts and literally fall over the finish line, and appear to be exhausted and can barely move. Strand runs a phenomenal 3:48, breaks the tape and looks like he just finished a early morning wake up jog. I see world record in his future.
