You are literally a lifesaver for me and my daughter. She’s 16 she’s been a type one diabetic since she was 12 and she’s done injection and fingerprints this whole time. Today actually we should be receiving her pump and dexcom cgm. Super excited! We’ve been watching your videos literally all morning and I feel like I know everything I need to know already in just a few hours! Thank you! 🙏❤️🙂
Thanks Dude, this was my first time ever installing a cgm. Your vid kept it simple and I felt better knowing someone with experience was showing me how to do it. I'm a 35 year old t1 since the age of 2.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I literally had the worst day with my G6 that I’ve had for a while now and I needed to replace it. It reported all day since 4am that I was below 40 mg/Dl. All the reported readings were false. I replaced my sensor and did EXACTLY what you did but on my left arm. It truly was a miracle because: 1. I had the same 4 digit sensor code 2. I placed it exactly in the same spot 3. IT WAS A SMALL BLEEDER TOO 😌 Thank you for helping me through this horrible day and ending it on a great note. And it didn’t hurt either! 👍🏼
Love you mentioned recycling and also not littering with putting the adhesive covers in your pockets!!! A+! Will be subscribing and looking forward to finally getting a G6! Stay healthy and be safe!
Thanks for this video! My daughter is Type 1 and had a very bad low sugar episode a couple of weeks ago; the fear of that happening again prompted me to contact Dexcom and her doctor and we received her G6 this week. Great explanation of the process. Thank you.
This was the most helpful and direct video so far. I was really frustrated and you made it seem like it wasn't intimidating at all. Thank you so much. I've had it on for about 10 hours now. I put it on the back if my atm where I used to take insulin shots by putting the back of my arm on my knee. Really didn't hurt much at all. Thank you so much!!!
Great video! I’m waiting for my 7 year old songs dexcom g6 to come within the next two weeks for the first time! I’ve been trying to prepare myself for what I’m in for when it comes to applying the dexcom. You made it look so easy! Thanks for all the great info!
I chose upper arm arm as well! I know they recommend around the stomach area but I have to much hair there and I found my arm to be bare! It does not feel like I have it on. Just started it today. I thank god for it and dexcom because I was waking up in 40 readings so I will have alerts if that happens!👍👍 Thank you!
Wow good video and nice of you to help everybody with this. I can’t believe how in-depth and honestly ridiculous how many steps there are with the dexicom. I was trying to help my father in law and was shocked compared the the Libre 3 that I use. It comes pre assembled simply twist off the cap push it on and then scan by holding your cell phone over it and done.
Hey thank you so much this really helped. I am deaf and I was scared because my doctor kept telling me I had to go take a class but because of covid they were having problems with the classes. I did have to read your lips but it works perfectly fine. thank you for being so awesome and easy to follow.
Starting my Dexcom G6 today. had a Medtronic sensor but it always shuts down on me around day 3. Have to charge for 2 hours then a 2 hour warmup. I have found that I don't have any bleeding or pain if my glucose is under 150 when inserting CGMs or insulin pumps. Thanks for the demo.
I am so happy i found you and your channel man! I have T1 Diabetes, just got the Dexcom today and wanted to get some tutorial about it and boom wound up here lol. I workout and am pretty fit too, I have the same issues you talked about with the trouble of putting sensors in good spot due to the fact I dont have much fat on me and being lean. Im excited to try the Dexcom and learning more helpful things from you!

Hey man. I’ve had my g6 for about a week now and haven’t set it up just because of the fact I work 12 hour days and usually sleep the rest of the day, just found your channel and appreciate you showing us! Thank you bro
I will be starting the Dexcom G6. Does it have a needle? Or is it a sensor that goes in the skin? How sharpe is it? Can it go in the stomach? Is the Dexcom G5 the same meter used for the Dexcom G6?
As I understand the G6 sensors are only approved for the abdomen in the US. Have you compared the accuracy? Your Dr. specifically tell you it was OK to use it on the arm?
I've been using the Dexcom for about 5 months. Love it. I've noticed that one blutootheadset i like to wear interferes with the phone app. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there something I should look for in a headset in order to avoid this?
Glass step should’ve been put your finger around three times around the steps to make sure it sticks if people just put it on like that it’s not gonna stick
@@FTFWARRIOR the one thing I have an issue with and I complained to them and I hope anyone who sees this does also is... They are not up on having newer compatible phones. The iPhone they have compatible is older. The droid is the Note9 and the Note10 has been out since August 2019. The A10e is out in August last year and they have the A7. Nowadays people do not want to shop for old technology. I asked about some of the phones they have on their site and Verizon response: We don't make those anymore lol... I just put this on my daughter yesterday, after having it for more then a year and I can't even know her readings at school unless I have her take her Note9, I'm, to school. Hey! I’m getting the Dexcom G6 in a couple of days. Looking at informative videos. Just had a quick question how do you connect the CMG to the tandem tslim Insulin Pump? Thanks! 😊
hello. your videos are amazing. I just received the dexcom and I loved your video but i am deaf. A lot of stuff I missed. Do you have instagram or facebook. Again, you have the absolute best videos.
I know you mentioned that you prefer your upper arm because of your body type. I have a similar body type and I'm about to get a dexcom so I was wondering what other spots are good to use?
Just a quick question. Is there a reason why the various official guides say don't charge directly from a USB port? I've been using my computer's usb port and it seems to charge fine there, but is that bad for the Receiver in some way? The PDF guides say something like "don't charge from a computer/laptop port".
If you don't mind me asking how old were you when you were diagnosed ?...my son was diagnosed at the age of 10....he is 104 lbs now at the age of 14...we are finding it very challenging to get weight on him...is there any advice you can give us....Thank you and God Bless....
How do I avoid constant Lost Signal Alerts? I’m within range, Bluetooth has been turned off and on and I’ve waited 10 minutes. Works for a time but in sometimes less than an hour, the Lost Signal Alert cycle starts all over again. Thanks.
I actually just got mine and I'm worried about putting it on because I'm a hairy fellow and i do not know if it'll affect the device or am I able to just put it on without worrying ???
i have the freestyle lubre i am gettiuing soon the dexcom6g with reader ; like you went ouch lol btw i am 54 and i got diabetes when i was 13 . i am so old ii used to dfo urine test.
So, the sensor is replaced every 10 days. Does the transmitter need to be replaced every 10 days as well or does that last longer? What does one box come with? Do you have to purchase the sensor and transmitters separately? Insurance is making me switch from the great all in one 14 day Freestyle libre to the G6. So far it seems like the G6 will be more complicated. Thanks
Hey, I change it at the recommended duration which is at the 10 day marker, though I have heard some people have been able to reset it and keep it going for 2-3 weeks! The price varies from person to person depending on your insurance. I hope this helps!
Hi!!! What if you can't download the app? I'm having so much trouble!!!! I just upgraded my phone to an LG that doesn't support the app. I've tried downloading clarity. Nope won't work either. I'm not purchasing another phone....I refuse lol. Can you data share with your doctor using the receiver they give with the Dexcom? I'm going for training in 2 weeks on the t-slim x2 pump which I have received already. Does the t-slim have an app? Ulgh I'm so new to all this and I'm old so I'm not good with technology lol although my son is and he attempted to get the app....failed as well. I'm so lost....anyone?
The dexcom comes with a little device. If your phone doesn't support the app maybe you can make sure to bring the little device that comes with a blue or pink cover with you at all times. It's not very big and maybe only the size of an ipod touch or even smaller. I'm sure a doctor or nurse could help you set it up as well. Best of luck.
I know this was a long time ago. But I just got this thing and i found this on Reddit. It works on my phone that isn't a "approved" phone by dexcom. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScD76G0Y-BlL4tZljaFkjlwuqhT83QlFM5v6ZEfO7gCU98iJQ/viewform

It will probably read fine, but might not stay on the full 10 days. Personally, I'd consider shaving that area to see if that helps

Can anyone help me I put the code in and it says incorrect code when it’s not
Hey buddy! Where are you from exactly ???
Does it come off when you sweat? My pump used to fall off all the time
It's actually pretty good about staying on, but there's also products that help keep it on, like this one: ua-cam.com/video/U4s9OY-gPeg/v-deo.html
For how many days the transmitter lasts long on an average?
Transmitter is 90, sensors are about 10 (though I know some people that were able to get them to last 20 or even 30 days)
Does insurance cover this?
sometimes, you'll have to check with the one you have
very informative video!
Bro is it okay to put it sideways like you did ?
Definitely ok, I did it for about a year, however I don't do that anymore haha. I put it straight up and down
How do you use the Dexcome g6 with the T-Slim??
In the options menu of the tslim
Does any one know were I can get in México?
Did you get to do side by side G6 vs G5...
Unfortunately no, the day I put in my new G6 was also the day that my G5 transmitter died.. I think Dexcom planned it that way haha
