Right!? At least a cameo. But it might be a misinterpretation of what “teen age rebellion” actually is. It’s called rebellion by parents, but for the teen it’s not a purposeful attempt to oppose authority, but an attempt at the beginnings of independence and self discovery. This is when we form opinions on things (teens feel everything very strongly so they have strong opinions). They’re trying to pull away from being just the parent’s child and become full people and that can mean trying to become totally different from the parents. They aren’t trying to make their parents upset or be a little asshole. They’re just learning what it is to be there own person. Learning anything has its ups and downs
@@AggieToons yeah but I feel like she was more sad and lost, not doing it purely out of spite or rebellion. And I feel like that is an even bigger reason for that to be an emotion. It would be cool ngl
True, but maybe Disney already felt like that rebellion is a factor to anger. Remember that one scene where anger controls Riley to lash out at her dad in the first movie? That scene is just reason to my theory
I think it’s just a mix of emotion Like there are different kind of confusion Like you confused that somebody likes your outfit(joy) Confused that your best friend insulted you(anger) Confused of why somebody is dressed like how (disgust probably)

Jealousy is a mix of envy and anger so if those two emotions had control over the panel they wouldn't need a new emotion to show jealousy. Also the shadowy figures chasing them are depression. Depression on its own isn't a emotion. I fact depression is technically a imbalance in the system usually caused by other emotions. Anxiety is a real emotion as it can be measured but depression is almost like a shadow emotion where it's the absence of them.
Jealousy isn't envy and anger, envy can be and if anything is way more often accompanied by anger then jealousy is. Jealousy is literally envy but for people and creatures instead of objects and features.
Actually Jealousy is more a derivate of Fear Envy is when you want what someone else has, but jealousy is when you're worried someone's trying to take what you have. If you want your neighbor's new convertible, you feel envy. If she takes your husband for a ride, you feel jealousy.
I like to think that the shadow monsters represented nightmares or sleep paralysis, or some type of darker emotion like an early version of Anxiety, or maybe even an emotion called Emptiness
For anyone wondering, Jealousy has more to do with what you have and it possibly being taken by others. While envy has more to do with things you don’t have, and how you may want those things.
Depression I feel like isn’t a necessity emotion to add to the franchise. It maybe would be cool if it was added as a villain blinded by selfishness of wanting to end itself and does that by trying to get Rylie to kill herself, and would be a challenging topic with the goofiness of a Pixar film kinda like before. If that happened, it wouldn’t be the first time Pixar tackled suicide (the opening of the Incredibles), however I doubt Pixar would do that nowadays… but back to why depression isn’t a necessity emotion to add. Well it feels like it was kinda already shown in the 1st film. After Joy and Sadness leave headquarters, Rylie becomes depressed and gloomy, and even tries to leave home after Anger puts in the idea. Also it be pointless because all the emotions stick throughout your life like joy, envy, and all the others. Depression doesn’t really stick around if you get help. It may come back later in life, but it isn’t all that permanent, and Depression (if made into an Inside Out emotion), would be thrown out. Interesting if it was made a villain, but we kinda already seen depression in the franchise pretty much.
Maybe it would be like the panic attack we saw in the second movie, a power someone like sadness has to control rilly thoughts and can spin out of control Or we already say it when the emotions could make rilly feel anything and the consle went Grey However though disney have been dark before idk if they have a character thinking of suicide for a kids movie
I heard somewhere that depression was originally going to be a villain in the first movie, but it was scrapped due to the creators not wanting to give the implication that you can get rid of depression just like that.
Depression isn't an emotion, per say, it would probably be better if there was something going on and depression started forming. Like in the first movie
There was also a character that I don’t think ever had a design but the creators did confirm that there was gonna be a German emotion that found pain funny.
Why would they add more emotions when really a lot of the extra emotions are really combinations of different emotions. Jealousy is a combination of anger and envy, envy is probably the only new emotion that would have been a needed extra. Suspicion is a combination of disgust and anger, anxiety is a combination of disgust and fear.
My favorite design for the scrapped emotions is Shame, but not the one they showed in the video. They made multiple designs for Shame, but the one that isn’t shown here is my favorite.
Fun fact:That green emotion is called Shame, and there was a deleted scene for Inside Out 2 that Shame was originally going to be an actual new emotion with Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Annui/Bordom.

Okay the thing with depression. Depression is not an emotion. I get why it was cut, because it isn't an emotion, it is a mental disorder. [Anxiety is both a mental disorder and emotion so I'm pretty sure that's why they kept her]
I think that the reason they didn't add jealousy is because of envy
Because Envy and Jealousy are the same but what if it depends on the person? Some people can have Jealousy while some (like Riley) have Envy.
