Great to catch up with where you are on AT, Molly. You’re making awesome progress. I can’t believe the good state of your LPs after 1000+ miles 😮 I love my LPs too for their “out the box, hit the trail” comfort ❤ Wonderful energy, smile and stoicism as always from you. Happy Hiking 😊
It's really good to take those zeros in the southern states so you have enough energy left when you get to the more difficult northern states. You'll be so glad you sprayed your clothes with the permethrin. And it was definitely time for new shoes!
WOW1,000 miles! 👏👏👏👏👏. We are all so proud of you! I’m so glad you got to explore Harpers Ferry and also stay at your friends house for a few nights. 😊 Harper Ferry is just a beautiful area! Enjoy your new shoes! Take care Molly and ziggy to! Stay safe & Hike On. 🇺🇸🙏❤️🧗♀️👍🥾🏕️
Happy (belated) welcome to Maryland. Looking forward to seeing how you experienced my home state. It's just 41 miles, so it should be a short and hopefully sweet section.
I have enjoyed following you since you started the trail and I look forward to the rest of your journey. You have such an amazing attitude I know you’ll make it to Maine. Ziggy is an amazing hiking partner. I feel better about your safety knowing you’re not hiking alone.
Thank you so much for showing the old fire house, I have been a firefighter for 45 years and I really enjoyed seeing that, you and zig are still in our prayers, Happy hiking be safe,
After years of loan peaks I`ve switched to Topo pursuits. Lasting much better. Rushed out and bought a back up pair they are so good. Better than the LP 4.5s my previous favourite. also..congrats to you. Overtook 2 out of 3! Flyn along and going strong!
Nice kicks Mojo, love the color. I didn't realise that you started the AT on my birthday! (March 19th) 😊 Good call on the Permetherin retreat. Take care and thank you letting us tag along. ✌️
Wow! Even your shoes got their MoJo working.🥾😉 Most AT thru-hikers (at least the ones I've followed on UA-cam) report getting 400-600 miles from a pair of trail-runner type of shoes. Maybe happy hikers with happy feet have happy shoes that just last longer. It will be interesting to see what your Katahdin summit number will be . . .
Hi Molly!! It's so fun to have you come through my little neck of the woods! Glad you got a good rest & new kicks! Keep trudging!! Thanks for all you do, legit. -Dan in MD
Congratulations on making it to the "halfway" point of the AT! Those shoes look pretty good for 1000 miles, I love my Lone Peaks also, have a little over 1000 hiking miles on my 6s, recently downgraded them to my work shoes (I work in a warehouse so they'll getting abused and will likely not last much longer), everyone I talk to who wear Altras tell me theirs barely last 500 miles on trail. I've switched to Topos to test out their comfort and durability, but in the 30-ish miles I've put on them thus far I'm not confident I'm going to get a same results so I'll probably be switching them out for the Lone Peak 8s the next time Altra runs a sale.
Thanks for the view of Harper’s Ferry. Hope you had a restful and relaxing visit. It appears that you always have something that needs doing LOL. Enjoy.
Harper's Ferry tells me you are approaching my neck of the woods nears Harrisburg PA. I look forward to seeing your thoughts of the trail near my neck of the woods. Keep it up!
Bye bye old shoes im surprised you didn't send them home. As a monument for your A.T wall of fame. Or at least that's what I would build. I mean maybe that's just me. But I would be collecting everything. And sending it home to make a case of stuff. And have the full A.T map on the wall. But I just love collecting stuff
@mollyroseoutdoors then I look forward to seeing a video of this A.T memorial when you get done. 😁 heck I can't wait for your documentary you are going to make 🤩
I'm sure it's time consuming to edit videos and prep for next day hiking each day, so thanks for all you do. It's a joy to watch your hike.

I think you’re the 1st person I’ve ever heard of get a thousand miles out of a pair of shoes. Thats unbelievable 😊
New shoes - nice, but the old ones looked pretty good, especially after 1,000+ miles. Forklift is about a day or two behind you. Be well, stay safe. 🥾
Those shoes look great for going 1000 miles!
Hiking strong, and still smiling! Enjoy the rest of your hike, YOU GOT THIS GIRL!

Wow, unbelievable progress to the top 500!!!

Seen Altra lone peaks with a lot less miles in a lot worse shape then yours. You must float like a butterfly 🦋 on the trail. Happy Trails Mojo

Awesome job…
Wow That's great. Even that town is great -way different from what i see in the southwest. Actually best long mile shoes I've youtube seen. ♡
Thanks for the view of Harper’s Ferry. Hope you had a restful and relaxing visit. It appears that you always have something that needs doing LOL. Enjoy.

I’m going to keep the ones I summit Katahdin in for sure!

You needed a few days off . and family is number 2 in priority ,we know who number 1 is, now brake your new shoes in.
You’ve gotten this far now, what is your opinion of rain pants on the A.T.? Necessary?
I used them one time in Georgia and finally sent them home in Marion. It’s not cold anymore so I don’t think they’re necessary right now.
The million dollar question. How many pairs of shoes do you need to hike the Appalachian Trail.
