I'm not sure what's more disappointing the power numbers after in the install or the wheel choice...
The power numbers
😂 I was thinking the same
Yeah.... my '12 SS makes 420whp with bolt ons and a tune. This is weak, maybe they ran out of injector
My 2010 is making 485hp with a stage III cam and basic bolt ons
Wheel choice
Blown and 448hp in the same sentence? Sad.
Great episode! For an auto ls99 you guys nailed it. The customer was greatful and loved it! Well done.
The wheels are killing those numbers!
That's it? Seriously?
This episode is 10 years old now. E85 wasn't as available then as it is now and tuning is much better today then it was.
My 2015 l99 made 405-410whp with long tube headers,no cats, 3 inch exhaust, cia, ported intake manifold, 102 throttle body, and e85 on the dyno. Even without a cam in the l99 should’ve freed up up all that exhaust and intake it would’ve made easy 500whp throw a cam in it should be over 580-650 with the right pulley on the blower.
12👍's up G&G thanks again for taking us all along with you for the great show
0:52 not gonna lie that’s pretty disrespectful 😂😂
Those are rookie numbers, gotta pump those up! My 2010 is making 485 with just a cam and basic bolt ons lol
That’s what I was thinking lol
Considering that blower is North of $6000 that's a bit crazy. My 06 GTO with just long tubes made 398
My Charger makes 485 stock lol
@@sickTSI yes that's the factory horsepower, which is at the crank before it goes through the entire driveline and to the ground. 392's usually put down around 440 stock to the wheels on a dyno.
@@dylanduff9645 yeah, at my elevation 392's are more around 430rwhp. I haven't slapped it on a dyno, but mine is running an STS twin turbo setup.
Nice wheels and a nice guy
Those rims are awful looking.
My Favorite Hot Rod TV/horse power hosts.. Tommy and some of the dudes are awesome too but..
48hp off a super charger? shoulda just did a FBO
425hp is flywheel. Figure 15% of drivetrain loss. Thats 63.75hp loss. So factory is roughly 361whp. So 448whp is roughly 515hp. So 90hp. However I agree its low, but it probably keeps the factory warranty. LS engines are known to hit over 1000hp from junkyards.
@@Barronohbeefdipp
Yea. You ain’t gonna get 1000 without opening an LS
@@Barronohbeefdipp 400hp from the automatics though with the L99. Only the Manual's had the LS3.
Now you just got to upload the sister episodes, "5.0, Blown to Go" and the twin turbo Challenger episode.
Man I love this show
What embarrassing numbers. I’m at 491 RWHP with GPI SS4 cam, GPI LSA ported heads, stainless works headers, 3” Corsa exhaust.
I make just north of 500 wheel horse power NA in a 2015 2ss Camaro lol. Cam/ported heads/long tubes/cold air intake and tune...
What happened to the evaporete
Need to be converted from a L99 to LS3, cam, injectors and 3000+ stall converter to make some legit power.
How did you guys get around AFM? I have been told to do an LS3 conversion and not put a blower on an L99...
you only have to change lifters for a cam swap
And while your there might as well upgrade hardened arp push rods to match
You have 2 real options. Do a LS3 conversion, or delete the AFM and keep the VVT.
@@TexasSean will the AFM lifter hold up to the extra HP. I have an L99, I have been think of a full LS3 conversion first but now I'm think of waiting since I turned off the AFM. I turned mine off at 7000 miles and it only has 14k now. So the lifters really have not had the abuse of off and on for very long.
@@BumbleBee-kg5ig Sure they can hold not worth the risk in my opinion just matters if you can afford it. You do not have to do a LS3 conversion solely though you can keep VVT.
Should’ve put a Comp cam and Jesel roller rockers in it
I’m at 443 bhp on a mild n/a ls1 with itb’s
Whats that game called the one with the racetrack tree
Don't worry they make enough motors that'll make enough power to carry the extra weight and still get you to the finish line
Honestly I want to see what they can do to a 96 cobra
when i was a youngster i can rember when my uncle installing pette jackson gear drive it sounded like a blower drive
Yeahh
Always check for Clarence.
What does that have to do with a supercharger they aint touching internals lol
@@Brayan-rm6ti but you must aways be aware of Clarence.
I always wondered why Joe chose to use the term "hood rat" in this episode...
🤣 No Way!!!
I have a 6 l that makes $361 ft pounds of torque to the ground in my 2001 Chevy suburban with a 4l80 transmission to transfer case how much horsepower and torque does it have at the flywheel
I have a 2004 SVT cobra with basic bolt ons pushing 475, very disappointing numbers for a camaro
ROLL TIDE!
Man, saw a minute and was already in love with this episode. Why dont you just get rid of these Carcass- stinky- socks and move on with stuff like this? PLEASE!
What a big disappointment
only 448? Y'all are doing something wrong.
IS IT JUST ME OR IS JOE AS COOL TALKING AS JOHN WAYNE OR CLINT EASTWOOD🙏💪😎👍🍀🌳
It’s a laugh. if you want it to last. you have to upgrade the bottom end. you can’t push a stock motor. pieces and parts. :-).
Or get a coyote and have that kinda power from the factory 🤷♂️
My 6.0 made more power with a cam, No Boost.
Very disappointing.
Sorry guys, but 448HP is not a beast. Got to be over 600 for that title.
Sad
Those wheels are garbage
Them rims 🤮
Embarrasing numbers. My heads and cam 15 camaro blows those numbers away. You guys did something wrong lol
I mean they didn't though, this episode is 10 years old and tuning and fuel choices have changed a lot in that time.
Hideous wheels, and pathetic power numbers. Definitely horsepower tv lol
48 more horses🤔 waist of time & money
448 hp? That's a weak ass number for it to be with a blower. My stock 2013 camaro ss made 361 to the wheels and wasn't even broken in good yet...you mean you only managed 87 more hp with an entire supercharger kit...lmfao. my 2017 5.0 was 380 bone stock and my current 2019 c7 vette is right at 400 with the same sized 6.2 liter. I would be embarrassed to have a blown 6.2 liter with 448 hp....that car shouldn't have any number listed that doesn't start with a 5 or higher. The most conservative tune in the world should have this thing in the low 500s. Sad when 03-04 cobras are making more than this turd with just a pulley swap on a little 4.6 liter....
and back to the gm crap.
Weak af
