Great throwback to an excellent episode, Dan. They are definitely inspiring. Hopefully someday you will get another chance to go back country flying with Mike. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies my friend 🇺🇸🛩️
Well, times have changed, and the word 'cowboy' nowadays often implies a 'rule breaker.' The 'cowboy' in the name wasn't reflecting the image the fellas and I wanted to put out there. (especially for newcomers, we want to be good stewards of this important aviation thing that we love) We're still traditional cowboys at heart, with our roots in rounding up cattle and keeping the buffalo at bay, and our heritage living in the Rocky Mountain West. It wasn't easy letting it go, but culture controls, and these things do matter. We are still pals, and I think it's time to get the band back together and decide on a new brand. There's a lot of positivity in moving forward and creating something that truly represents who we are and what we stand for. In the future, we would love to do something more inclusive that everyone can be a part of. We're talking about it and open to ideas.
Thanks for the reply. I don’t accept that about the word cowboy, but I like your name personally. I feel like each of you in the group seem to have drifted off to your own ways, almost like something fell between the team members. I feel like each of you seem to have had issues that have entered your lives and each of you dealing with them in your own ways, and due to these struggles seem to have drifted apart. But we are only seeing things from our arm chair perspectives. I loved the things you were doing as the Flying Cowboys, and some of the fun you had been doing also. Take care, and keep your chin up, you have been making a difference in many lives, and I want to thank each of you for those things you have been doing, and helping others to get engaged. God Bless.
I personally believe that all of these UA-camrs were pushing the envelope and showcasing things that get them into legal trouble. Corey dumped his plane in the river after water skipping. Trent Palmer no longer shows water skipping. All of the wild pushing the envelope cowboy type things seem to get people in legal trouble, so they’ve stopped doing it or at least showcasing it.
@@robswank5209 I suspect their footage increased the chance of legal problem and/or an accident. Trent has backed away with some of his aggressive footage and then there’s Corey, who was water skipping with fuel starvation, and we all know how that ended up. It’s “safer“ for them not to have this image.
Thumbs up 👍 thanks for the information!

Good morning from Minnesota. Great interview
👍✅Great episode Dan👏
Great episode. Would love to see some footage from inside the heli.
Since I flew with Mike on a search and Rescue, I did not place any cameras or record any footage
"Shirts and Rescue"
So what happened to the flying cowboys.
