Hey everyone, sorry for the false start on the previous version. Someone pointed out they had trouble hearing me in certain spots so I fixed it before it was public for too long.
Thanks mate, I really like the end product of how these overview videos turn out but the amount of time I have to spend getting all these shots is crazy
Thanks Roger, yeah these overview videos take a ridiculous amount of time to do right...I make my cockpit workflows when I cover a DCS aircraft, but then I have to make one of these overview videos before I get into the flows, so it's like a double whammy when I make DCS content. I actually have a few other flows for airplanes completed that aren't released because I haven't made an overview video for it yet LOL
This is your best one yet. I’ve used your videos for years - Sometimes I wished there was more info on flying and engine management (the startup, takeoff and landing stuff was great, don’t get me wrong) but with the extra info on the fuel system, this video is especially good!
Bit of trivia for you. Guy Gibson (leader of the Dambusters raid) was killed in a Mossie over Holland. Some say it was enemy fire, others suggest he was unfamiliar with the Mossie and couldn't find the fuel tank switches. Strangely enough I had a conversation with an elderly work colleague whose Great aunt had worked at Scampton when Gibson was there. She wasn't very complimentary.
Great overview, thanks! I just got started with the Mosquito and am learning to get her under control. I think I might have to play with controls saturation but I'm enjoying the challenge.
... and now I HAVE gone over to the other side and I DO have the Mosquito!! I re-visit, not necessarily for the tutorial (although that is a reason) but more to re-visit the chalkboard!!!
Contra-rotating propellers vs. single rotation direction (terminology?). It seems to me that the torque balance of contra-rotating propellers is offset by directional instability induced by the airflow, requiring huge barn-door horizontal stabilizers for single-rudder planes, or twin rudders/stabilizers. One of the fixes for early B-26 Marauder issues was enlargement of the horizontal stabilizer. From a logistical point of view, not having to stock engines, propellers etc. with different rotations is a big plus. But I was wondering whether there are also handling airspeed etc advantages to this configuration. Part of the Mosquito’s speed might be attributed to the lower drag of a smaller horizontal stabilizer.
Very good, thank you. Does any one know??? If in multi-crew in the Mosquito; is there such a thing as an ‘intercom’ so pilot and navigator can converse without broadcasting??? If so, how???
Excellent video and content. Any chance on doing a video on the DCS P-47D and specially on engine handling?. Coming from IL2 to DCS I find it a much more challenging aircraft to fly properly.
When you change loadouts (or when adjusting them in the Mission Editor) you'll see little yellow triangles where you select the bombs. Click that then adjust the delay accordingly
Hey Requiem, just a precision, Amiens's raid on the prison was to liberate french resistance members, not POW. Looking forward to fly the mossie, will use yoyr videos to make my check lists as usual!
No worries, that's a bit of an oversight on my part in terminology. You won't have to worry about making checklists for the DCS Mossie at least. Flows/checklist will be available soon.
Glad that you liked it BIGNEWY! It takes a while to make but they're a nice way to introduce the airplane before demonstrating my cockpit flows to operate the airplane :-)
Great introduction to the aircraft and your tutorial series on this beautiful aircraft. May I request you not leave the aircraft codes as the default 001 as you did at one point if at all possible? It’s a bit of an immersion breaker. Otherwise 10/10. Great coverage of fuel management, feathering, fire extinguishers and so on. Many thanks Requiem.
Does the Mossie feel a bit slow to you? I saw someone doing a speed comparison with all of the warbirds in DCS, and the Mossie only maxed out at around 367mph at about 18,000ft. Seems especially slow for a Mossie, which should exceed 400mph for most variants. The Tsetse and NF models are slower. The FB Mk VI should exceed 400mph.
Turn the subtittles on maybe. But I'm in the same situation as you being french and I never had any problem understanding Requiem, and I've watch almost all his tutorials. You may want to work on understanding spoken english, it's harder than reading it for everybody.
Sorry about that. I understand that I have a lot of non-native English speakers who watch my videos so I do try to enunciate what I'm saying clearly. I don't get too many complaints about it, but I'll keep what you said in mind.

my grandpa flew these as a pathfinder in WWII. explains why he was such a nutter for the rest of his life
Respect for your Grandfather, that kind of flying is incredibly intense!
the gap between genius and, eccentricity, shall w say. is slight.
Wow! You did your homework on this one....very Indepth and informative! And the format is great....need more videos like this

Impressive! Thank you for both the history as well as an overview of the aircraft.
Thanks Jared!
Wow, just staging the scenes must've taken you months without the history and practical piloting research. Unbelievable. 🤯 Well done! 👏👍🙏

Yeah that's true, I remember reading that about Gibson's unfamiliarity probably playing a part in that.
Great overview 😊 Thank you very much 😃
Appreciate it!
Really enjoyed that one, might be the best one from you I've seen.
Thanks a lot! I put a bunch of time into it :-)
@@RequiemsACTL From viewer's perspective, it was worth it : )
Many thanks. That was an excellent Mossie refresher.

Yeah you'll need to add some curves to your liking, especially for yaw and then pitch if you lack a stick extension
Great video. Thanks for putting a lot of work and time to make it.
Always thrilled to see videos from you, Requiem. Excellent work as always!
Cheers, it's been a while since I been in the swing of things because of all the RL flying stuff I had going on in most of 2022
Outstanding work on the fuel system. And the rest of the video. Very entertaining and educational at the same time.
Appeciate it Pappy! These overviews take a lot to make so glad you enjoyed it 😊
I don't actually HAVE DCS but I watch these videos just for the chalkboard at the beginning!
One day I'll troll you and not include it
@@RequiemsACTL Now THAT would be earth-shattering! My world would never be the same after something like that!! 😉

Top class video mate 👍 thanks

Is the gear held up by uplocks or hydraulic pressure?

Thanks Snowy, sorry about the codes. That is just something I missed when I made a bunch of missions for all these shots.
bloody hell---how on earth did the crew learn all those do's and don'ts ?

It's been a while since I've booted up the Mossie. I'll ask a friend of mine who is a walking encyclopedia of everything Mosquito
it's a wonderful airplane to fly, although very susceptible to damage and loss of aircraft in DCS
I think that's true, especially when anti aircraft fire gets involved with their super accuracy and tracking
Bir bana bunun neolduğnu anlatsın lütfen, game midir ya başka bir şey
Evet, DCS dünyası adlı bir uçuş simülatörü için
English is not my native language. Your mumbling makes your otherwise great videos hard to understand.

Au contraire, Requiem's pronunciation was excellent. Relaxed, concise, and perfectly understood by native English speakers.
@@DanBlake3rd can you actually say "au contraire" in English?
@@matydrum Yes, the phrase has been adopted by English speakers as a polite expression of disagreement.
