Kaiba worked hard on rules for this tournament and the four way duel but then still decides to do things differently.
For completion's sake, Kaiba also annihilates the chump Yugi in this four way duel to make sure he's the only one who wins.

Here's how the duel played out in case you were wondering.
Turn 1: Kaiba sets 1 card and normal summons Vorse Raider, who attacks Joey directly. Marik summons Newdoria in response(?). Vorse Raider attacks and destroys Newdoria. Newdoria's effect let's Marik destroy 1 monster on the field, but Kaiba ain't havin that shit and negates the effect. Joey sets 1 card and ends his turn.
Turn 2: Yugi summons Big Shield Gardna and sets 2 cards.
Turn 3: Kaiba sets 3 cards and summons Blade Knight, who attacks Marik directly.
Turn 4: Joey summons Gearfried.
Turn 5: Marik summons Dark Jeroid. Kaiba uses his special ability to halve Gearfried's attack. Dark Jeroid destroys Gearfried.
Turn 6: Yugi tribute summons Beast of Gilfer. Kaiba draws 1 card. Yugi attacks Joey directly.
Turn 7: Joey draws. Kaiba had Blade Knight attack Joey directly. Joey tries to use Graverobber to turn the damage over to Marik, but Kaiba ain't havin that shit either. Kaiba activates Ring Of Destruction and incenses his lifepoints to infinity. Marik's lifepoints drop to 0. Kaiba summons Obelisk and has it attack Yugi directly.
Kaiba wins.

This and Atem Vs Yugi were my favorite duels in the show. But Battle City has a lot of good moments, EVERYTIME joey won a duel it was very cool. We saw him becoming an excellent duelist

At a certain point, I always find it funny that Yugi played jank cards all the way through Duelist Kingdom after everyone most upgraded their decks because he somehow still had Feral Imp in his deck.

Silly Atem, you can't normal summon anything in defense mode. Kaiba doesn't have to break any rules at all when you do it simply by breathing.
