I went to the Guadalupe River just outside of San antonio and went fishing in this amazing place. The huge cypress trees, clear water and deep holes hold some monster bass.

At cypress bend park in new Braunfels near 35
Im going to that river in like a week! That spot seems really nice to take the kids and camo, what part exactly of the river is that?
That’s a park in the middle of new Braunfels. It’s a great place to take kids. Just upstream of the comal entering the Guadalupe.

I don’t do any guiding but I sure could send you to some good spots if you wanna catch some.
Was this on the regular size googan zinger?
I like to stay with 3/8oz and if I need a little weight I’ll add a trailer. I usually only use 1/2 oz or bigger if I’m fishing ledges.

Psh... I just spent a few days fishing the Guadalupe just down the river from the Canyon lake dam. First off, there is almost no public access and second, there are no fish. I finally caught one 1/2 pound largemouth using a hellgrammite right on the bottom. I tried spinnerbaits, topwater, crankbaits, plastic worms... you name it. Didn't even see any fish in the water. Went and fished up above Canyon lake on the river and started catching bass. All largemouth. So... still didn't accomplish my goal of catching a guad. Frustrating to say the least.
First 8 miles or so after dam are kinda eh for large mouths. Try after the comal dumps into the guad.

is there any public access from the comal to the guad? I like fishing NB but damn it's hard to find a public spot
Derrick. In your experience with spinnerbaits, is it more effective to attach a soft plastic trailer, in addition to the skirt, or leave it skirt only?
It seems to me that the trailer blows the profile of the lure up so much that regular size bass are gonna be more intimidated than interested
