The entire show is based around Critical Role’s first campaign. Original characters made by the players and they also voice them. I realize you might already know this but I haven’t seen it mentioned and I think it’s super cool. You are in for a great ride

Nice to see you reacting to this. The first two episodes are from their home game, before they started streaming on twitch. Episode 3 is where the story really kicks in.
Scanlans Illusion magic is pretty useful here and there. Love the relationship between Grog and Pike a lot, because he is a big muscle hulk type with a heart of gold, but not very bright, and Pike is small and have selfdoubts.. these characters have a lot to offer. All of them.
A handy little tip for keeping the twins apart is to use their full names when thinking/speaking about them, and go by their colors. Vex’ahlia, blue, female Vax’ildan, black, male For a little geography: World - Exandria Continents: Tal’dorei Wildemount Issylra Marquet Tal’dorei empire cities: Emon (capital) Westruun Kymal Stillben Whitestone While they are technically under the rule of the sovereign, the other cities are quite independent in how they rule their day to day business. In terms of executive power, Uriel rules as an emperor with a council of advisors, but by tradition the ruler’s title is sovereign. His wife Salda is titled empress though. Also, I hope you like gothic horror. We’re going to get quite a bit of it in this first season, as episode 3-12 deals with what on the stream was named “the Briarwood arc”. The story of Brimscythe is not over though… Also, Matt Mercer confirmed in their watch along vod that Brimscythe was an adult blue dragon. In D&D dragons comes in both different sizes and colors. Sizes are: Hatchling Young dragon Adult dragon Ancient dragon Their power scales exponentially as they grow older and larger. An adult dragon is indeed a fearsome opponent, but not the most powerful one. Colors are: Chromatic dragons (generally more evil/selfish/cruel): Red (fire) Blue (lightning) White (ice/cold) Black (acid) Green (poison) Metallic dragons (generally more good/altruistic) Gold (fire) Silver (ice/cold) Bronze (lightning) Copper (acid) Brass (sleeping gas) Tiamat is the goddess of the chromatic dragons and has five heads, one of each color. Bahamut the platinum dragon is the god of the metallic dragons. (Lady Kima, one of the council members, is a paladin of Bahamut, hence her dragon head belt). In additional material there are both more sizes and more colors and types of dragons, but these five chromatic and five metallic ones are what’s relevant for Exandria.
Another tidbit is that while Gold Dragons are absolutely benevolent, they are a bit more on the "aloof" side, so they usually won't get involved in "minor" matters that they believe the "smaller races" should be able to handle unless they believe it's absolutely necessary. They will certainly intervene if they happen to see innocent people in danger, but they don't really go out of their way looking for people to help. They tend to pay more attention to the "big picture". But they're very powerful on those occasions that they *do* fight, as they are the strongest of the metallic dragons, while Silver Dragons are the second strongest. Silver Dragons on the other hand are by far the friendliest of the metallic dragons, as they *love* the company of humans & elves, enough so that they will often spend most of their lives in the guise of a human or an elf rather than their natural dragon form. But they are the easiest to persuade to help fight against a larger threat, so in that regard they could actually be considered to be comparable to the "Paladins" of dragonkind. They will be the metallic dragons most often found directly fighting against evil creatures and entities, especially so with the Chromatic dragons. Chromatic and Metallic dragons absolutely *despise* each other, to the point that a Metallic and Chromatic dragon encountering one another is pretty much guaranteed to result in a fight the moment one dragon notices the other. So, even though they are good Dragons, Metallic Dragons still have their own personality "quirks" that can make them come across more positively or negatively. Copper Dragons are the ones with the most penchant to actually cause harm (intentionally or otherwise) to innocent people, as they love to prank others, and their pranks can cross the line from being irritating to downright dangerous or deadly very easily. For instance, if a Copper Dragon is approached because a group of adventurers needs a specific item, the Copper Dragon could send them off to some dangerous location to find it....when the item in question could very easily be in the Copper Dragon's hoard to begin with. They also hate being the *target* of mischief or jokes as well, so they can't stand to be on the receiving end of the sort of treatment that they subject others to. They're also the greediest of all metallic dragons by far, so they're the only kind of metallic dragon that I would always be wary and on edge around, I'd find it hard to ever truly trust one.
24:00 - Spot on; Vex'aliah (the group's ranger, subclass beast master) very rarely risked Trinket (the bear) in combat situations; which is why Scanlan (the bard) considers Trinket to be useless.
Yessss I love this show and critical role. I've been a critter since the first episode of Campaign 2 at the start of 2018. So glad you guys got around to watching this.
absolutely love Bethany's quick and spot-on answer to "But where was the bear when they were in to fight the dragon?" at 23:56 :) Trinket has inevitably seen hard times during the game, but Vex (and Laura, her player/actor) was indeed very caring and fond of him.
You should really look at their video called The Legend of the Voices of The Legend of Vox Machina. The voice cast is stacked in this show and they're all from a wide range of shows and properties.
It's stacked all right. It's also excellent throughout. The voice acting really makes this show, and the credit needs to go to the casting directors, Sam and Travis, and especially the voice director, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.
@@PuffyCloud_aka_puffeclaude for sure. Just didn't want to throw a ton of names at them. Mary Elizabeth McGylnne is one of my favorite people and perfect vocal director for the show.
We were holding off til watching the show because we heard there were some spoilers in first few episodes in that. But after we get through the show we should go back to that 😀
These first two episodes were based on events that happened in the groups home Pathfinder game before they transitioned over to 5th edition D&D for the stream. Everything after is based on events that originally occurred live on the stream. A few things got changed for this show but there's a lot of references/in-jokes/allusions to other things and it's pretty close to how it went down, albeit condensed for the sake of ease and time. There's a bunch of comparison videos that show how close various moments in the show are to how they went down in the original, might be cool to check some of those out once you've finished the season maybe? Also, I gota laugh; "Like any good pet owner when things get dangerous you leave your pet in safety." You clearly don't know Laura Bailey.
These characters are so much fun to watch. And what makes me most happy is that this series proves that cartoons/animated shows in general do NOT have to be just for kids, but capture all aspects of life. I mean the F word alone comes up quite often, they drink, they do 18+ stuff. I love it. Vex and Keyleth are my favorites so far, they match my characteristics the most, but unlike me are completely adorable and beautiful. Likewise, I find the representation of their sexuality completely accurate. Vax and Scanlan are clearly bisexual and it's not glorified, it just is. Great. I'm sure you'll like the upcoming episodes even more ;)
Well said. I like that they made the two males bisexual although I feel like all of them are pretty much sexually fluid. Percy may be asexual 🤔 I think I told you this before but I have a bisexual friend and worked at a restaurant for 8 years that had 80% gay clientele and staff, and the thing that always blew my mind is how many gay men simply didn’t believe in bisexuality. Especially in men. Most thought it was just a gay guy not wanting to fully come out. So I like the way it is portrayed in this show, like you said, without being glorified and it being both the men. 😊
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 1000% agreed. Dear Ken, this may shock you, but it is just the same among homosexual ladies. The women who are bisexual are very afraid to mention it among lesbian friends. Which I think is complete bullshit. I myself am lesbian and was thrown out of the tennis club for it, because the heterosexual women think... now they are in danger O.o Bisexuality, is nothing "in between" and these people are also not insecure, this is a valid sexuality. End of discussion !
It's funny to me that reactors keep seeing the similarity between Allura and Daenarys because she is voiced by a GoT alum....Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand)
I am so happy you finally started this show. I have been following them since 5/6 years ago and am one of the 88.887 backers of this show. The cast who play the main characters aswell as the DM are all genuinely super wholesome people.
Yay! I love running into fellow backers! I'm sure there are tons out there who are just being humble, but hell! No need to be! It's something to be proud of, and I've no doubt almost anyone who is a fan of the show, old, new, or future would have loved to back it if they were able!! 😃 Every critter, backer it not, helped make this possible, but knowing you're one of the 88,887 is such a fun thing! If only there had been ONE more to make 88,888, LMAO.
@@chipsalom I was not aware I stepped on your fingers by me being happy about something. If you feel attacked because somebody tells he or she is a backer for anything I feel sorry for ya. I do not believe/feel like I am a bigger fan then someone that did not back or pledged less then me. Why not try to let someone be happy and enthausiastic without being toxic.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Not sure if anyone already mentioned it, but the fans are called Critters and mostly it is one of the most wholesome communities out there.
So dragons in this D&D have different elements depending on their color, dragons that are chromatic (solid colored) are evil ones and the metallic dragons are the "good" ones. Our dragon here was a blue dragon which is why he was breathing lightning instead of the usual fire the dragons that are chromatic (solid colored) are evil ones and the metallic dragons are the "good" ones. Vex our beautiful half elf ranger can sense draconic creatures and not evil in general because their home village was destroyed by one and yes she would totally bring her pet bear into danger to fight with them.
Ah so it’s just dragons she can sense. Because she called out the king for being under influence of Briarwoods later on we assumed she could sense evil 🤔🤗
Yeah that was just her general intuition and her ability is specifically for draconic creatures. The ability to "sense" evil is an actual spell in dnd.
The boy is voiced by Sam Riegel's son, and the girl by Liam O'Brien's daughter, and I think they both knocked it out of the park. That would be an awesome bring your child to work day!
the twins are halfelves actually not full elf, keyleth is a full blooded elf, and dragons are color coded to what elements they breath and tend to be a alignment. blues are elecrick based and tend to be Lawful Evil
So glad you are watching and enjoying this! Sadly the bear is not in many episodes mainly due to the difficulty of animating him. Can't wait for you to watch move episodes going forward!
YES! Heya Ken, Heya Bethany! Loved this. Listened/Watched the original campaign when they first started in 2015. The guy narrating is none other than Matt Mercer who I’m sure you’ve recognized as McCree/Cassidy from OW. But I’m sure someone told you that already. So excited to see you continue this show!
We love that these voices are from some of our favorite characters in other stuff we watch, like Jaina and Illidan and McCree, or Cassidy I guess now 🤗
Been watching your reactions for a while now, been loving them! This is a great reaction! Would love to see you two react to more episodes! The first two are just intros to the characters really, the show really gets into it at Ep. 3 and just keeps getting better. Been a critter for years
I find it very funny that you got Sherlock Holmes from Percy (glasses guy). His voice actor played Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in an anime called Black Butler which was inspired by the books
There are quite a few raw lines in Critical Role like the one at the end of Ep1, and then there are things you cant believe came out of someone's mouth like "Life needs things to live." - "You can dwell on the shit, or you can leave it behind in people’s beds and keep going." - "In the darkness, I say fuck." Just to clear up the roles each of the members bring into Vox Machina Percy - Human - Fighter Gunslinger Keyleth - Half Elf - Druid Pike - Gnome - Cleric Scanlan - Gnome - Bard Vex'ahlia - Half Elf - Ranger Vax'ildan - Half Elf - Rogue Grog - Goliath (Half Giant) - Barbarian The Melee/Front line fighters are Pike, Grog, and Vax. While the ranged fighters are Percy, Keyleth, Scanlan, and Vex. Most D&D parties will be built up this way with a wide variety of classes and fighting styles, otherwise your team will be left with some pretty big weaknesses and that can seriously hinder you during a campaign. Its also always recommended to have at least 1 Cleric or Paladin on your team because theyre the ones who get a majority of the healing spells available in the game and access to spells that can bring people back from the dead. (Necromancy can bring a body back to life but not the soul so the result would be an Undead)
They're all pretty famous voice actors, Matt, the narrator/GM of the original dnd game (and voice actor for Trinket and a cameo character in the serie) is the voice of McCree/Cassidy, and as some said Laura (Vex) is Jaina, Liam (Vax) is Illidan, and there are some others. Outside of Blizzard also, Ashley (Pike) is the voice of Ellie from the Last of Us There's a video called "Why is critical role such a big deal" that presents the cast with some of the voice acting they did. This is however during their second campaign so it will not be the same characters as the serie.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Especially when it amounts to being the first twitch channel by revenue, with an immense fandom and an amazon prime serie It's like THE nerd dream
Keep in mind when watching his that when it comes to writing... this show is following what happened in the campaign. The writers just took what happened during their game and adapted it into a show. Most of the decisions and plot points and even some of the dialogue and jokes happened as improv during their game. Matt Mercer created the world and the scenario that they're in and the players dictated where the story went by their decisions and their successes/failures. Also b/c of that (and that Mercer is merciless), anyone can die at any point. I'm not saying they will... but they can. This story isn't "written" as most stories are written w/ an end game in mind or plot points to hit. The players created their characters, backstories and flaws. Mercer created the world and weaved their backstories into that world then they played to see where it went. Also to keep in mind the main cast are all professional and highly successful voice actors.
Not sure if this was said yet but the guy that scandland peed on in the first episode is Matt Mercer the main DM for critical role (he is basically the critical role main mascot lol)
The first two episodes were what Matt Mercer and company figured they would be able to produce from their Kickstarter so that when they raised the $11 million they extended the season by introducing the Briarwood story-arc which will give you a lot deeper look into Percy.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2, I don't know if people will consider this a "spoiler" but in later episodes, Vex acquired a jeweled pendant that allowed her to squirrel Trinket away for easier transport.
I see that a ton of critter friends have already begun the process of initiation into our little cult! 😂😂😂😂. Welcome to the world of critical role where a bunch of nerdy but very accomplished voice actors( I mean really accomplished, like award winning top of their game types) play dungeons and dragons! And also made this awesome series based on the D&D game they played. Enjoy the ride!
For a bit of context, this show is based on a D&D campaign, and in D&D, a character's stats are (usually) between 1 and 20, with higher being better. Grog's intelligence stat is... 6. Just 6 😂 So despite having a heart of gold, he is certainly not the brightest crayon in the toolbox.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 100%! I think Travis (his player/voice actor) once said that his goal for the character was to take a barbarian class -- which is all about raging and tanking, so usually super aggressive -- and make him have a soft side 🥰

Been hoping yous would get to this :3 Adore critical role and have been on the journey of their show for years. Hope yous enjoy and looking forward to your reactions
Did you know that this series is based on the dnd universe and is an adaptation of one game from Critical role + the players have just voiced their characters !
This was created from Vox Machina of Critical Role, the level of story making that the DM (Dungeon Master) Matt Mercer along with many of his accents, voices, and sound effects he does along with the shenanigans the rest of the group get into is what, I guess you could say birthed this animated series. I recommend yaw check at least one to two episodes in your own time, Critical Role Campaign 1: Vox Machina they literally have to use their imaginations and it's amazing. Oh, the animated series they are doing takes place from the beginning of their game before they started to stream to after they started to stream so there is a lot of story elements not covered in the animated series compared to their actual game.
Loved the first season of the show, but I love Critical Roll been a critter for campaign 2, The Mighty Nein (and that is how it is spelled, dumb auto-spell check). Trinket is just so huggable, they should do a plush of her. So Stay Safe and have a great day.
Okay I don't often stick around for the commentary part afterward because it's essentially " this happened and that happened, blah blah" but you talked about your favorites of this and that, and what you think might happen, and it made for a much more engaging commentary moment. Thanks! Edit: And the moment you were like "Like any good pet owner, when things get dangerous you leave the pet at home for safety." You totally get Vex's entire personality right there: protect bear at all costs. XD
Haha, glad you enjoyed the post discussion. Having theories is the best part because we know 99% of the time we are going to get them wrong haha, but the 1% we are right still feels good 😊 and yes, Vex is totally who Bethany would be in this world ☺️
Love your reactions on "the Legend of Vox M". I have seen the live-streams of this show (Critical Role) and as far as I know/remember, ep.1 & 2 of this animated show, takes place pre Critical Role Live Stream. Ep.3 and forward are all from their live-stream game. Its awesome.! Looking forward to seeing your reactions and oppinions on the next episode.! I didn't know you guys did reactions for tv shows, that's awesome!! I discovered Vox Machina shortly after it came out. I didn't know anything about it, but I got hooked on it pretty quickly! hope you'll react to the rest of the episodes. also, do you take recommendations for other shows? If so, I want to recommend a UA-cam series called Helluva Boss, it's an animated series that's absolutely hilarious.
Yeah if you only know our Games channel then you wouldn’t know about the tv show stuff. This second channel is still relatively unknown in the community and we have to do a better job promoting it haha. Anyways, we are going to be showing our reaction to the whole series like this one was done and we do plan on getting to helluva boss and Hazbin hotel eventually 😀
Anybody could tell me where I could start to watch the first campaign? I'm watching since they arrive at Kraghammer, but that's not the first campaign right?
Kraghammer is the first (streamed) arc of the first campaign. It's kind of confusing because they picked up the stream right from where they were in the home game (which was never streamed exceopt for some random clips the cast posted on their personal UA-cam channels)
@@LHKcode13 It is. But the first two episodes cover pre-stream stuff then they skip the Kraghammer arc. If I remember correctly, Episode 3 of LoVM picks up from Episode 22 or 23 of the stream (it's somewhere in the early 20's I forget the exact number)
Side note: originally critical roll was a pathfinder ruleset campaign before converted to dnd 5e ruleset. The god pyke worship here named The everlight is Sarenae in pathfinder. Percy is a fighter with gunslinger subclass with in pathfinder gunslinger is a full main class. Legal reasons (plus WotC promo money and they don’t want Matt to mention/showcase Paizo pathfinder stuff) on the changes. Which ironic since WotC also for legal trademarking stuff. Big one is this: you can’t use DUNGEONMASTER in other trpgs. Has to be Gamemaster or another name for the game runner. On bit of pathfinder history… well long history. Overall and tl/dr: pathfinder exists! So dnd we know is a big brand name, back then for 3.5 edition it was considered one of the best editions of dnd. Then around 2007 they made 4th edition which became the least liked edition in dnd. During this time and WotC (wizards of the coast) having their OGL (Open Game License) a small group called paizo used the 3.5e rules for their own homebrew (custom made stuff) world called Pathfinder and tweaked/improved 3.5 features. 2009 pathfinder was officially released and when ppl heard its enhanced 3.5e ppl migrated to there. This lasted for good while with their rep increasing until 2014 with dnd 5e releasing. Even then dnd didn’t get that big of old/new players go jump in until two things that boosted its attention. One of them is what you are watching now when they had the live play, the other is the popular Netflix show Stranger Things. These two vastly boosted dnd attention to the public attention. Since then they did a lot of promo stuff to keep boosting their attention be live plays, more mentions in stranger things, appear in other media and so on to maintain brand noticed. What happened to pathfinder? It still exists and thriving, not as big as dnd of course but since then they have a lot of major stories from adventure paths and their pathfinder society organized play. 2017 they made starfinder which is a sci fi focus trpg and lore wise set in the same universe as pathfinder. 2019 pathfinder 2e or PF2 released and have alot of new features that slowly ppl are using in their dnd sessions, which yes WotC knows about this and ain’t that happy about it. Makes sense since pf2 is 2ish years old now vs 5e is 8 years old. So 5e rules some of its core rules are dated now in trpg standard. Ppl are waiting for either 5.5e or 6e but high chance it’s the prior that’s gonna happen. Mainly due to how many ppl know 5e rules despite dated mechanics but the 3rd party market for it is insanely huge. And to go back into pathfinder topic: recently WotC hired Logan Bonner. This a big deal since Logan Bonner is the lead rules designer of pathfinder 2e and starfinder, and of all positions hey hire him for they hired him for RULS DESIGNER of dnd. So that tells ppl 5.5 is gonna get ALOT of pathfinder influence which right now ppl are happy or upset on. Happy on new better rules like remove initiative and make it part of perception is one example. The other ppl upset on is mainly dnd loyalist and they don’t want any other trpg to influence/alter the rules of what they follow or in general hate pathfinder due to they only want dnd to exists in trpg market. Overall doesn’t matter to me since I play both rulesets. Mainly dnd I homebrew the hell out of it since again there are things that are dated in core 5e now.
As couch potatoes, I think that both of you would be well-served if you pick up a copy of the D&D Player's Handbook, and see where some of the fantasy tropes that are common place today were enshrined almost fifty years ago.
Guys, you need to check out 2012 Street Fighter movie made by fans. It is called Street Fighter Assassins Fist. It is so game perfect that none of the Hollywood versions of Street Fighter movie can beat it. The movie itself is about story of Ryu and Ken, about they origin, and about the origin of their master Gouken and his brother Gouki (Akuma). It is very well made. Trust me. @@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 New to your channel, not sure how much anime you watch, but you can see he's the only one wearing glasses. Eyes are the windows to soul, as they say. So a common trope is to switch from see through to blocked when a character has a secret. Keep an eye on that.
'Bout time you nerds got into this! My hope is that watching this will eventually lead to one or both of you watching Critical Role in your off time. You don't need to know how to play DnD to enjoy it, but it's what helped me get into it once Covid started.
I got a crash course and deep dive into DnD about 2 or 3 years ago. I was hooked by story telling and the well developed universe that DM made. He had compeding nubers with Critical Role on Twitch at some points and also had beaten them in viewers some times. So there i was caught in a story and knowing about CR beeing bigger. Than the DM turned out to be a a-hole to alot of his players and artists so this whole setting colapsed in it self. Then i found this animated series watched it in one day and was hooked by guessing which spells and rolls were made. So i am going to inhale the next fantasy universe i guess.

The story of Brimscythe is not over though…
Also, Matt Mercer confirmed in their watch along vod that Brimscythe was an adult blue dragon.
In D&D dragons comes in both different sizes and colors.
Sizes are:
Hatchling
Young dragon
Adult dragon
Ancient dragon
Their power scales exponentially as they grow older and larger. An adult dragon is indeed a fearsome opponent, but not the most powerful one.
Colors are:
Chromatic dragons (generally more evil/selfish/cruel):
Red (fire)
Blue (lightning)
White (ice/cold)
Black (acid)
Green (poison)
Metallic dragons (generally more good/altruistic)
Gold (fire)
Silver (ice/cold)
Bronze (lightning)
Copper (acid)
Brass (sleeping gas)
Tiamat is the goddess of the chromatic dragons and has five heads, one of each color.
Nice little crash course on this universe! Thanks so much! 😀🤩
Damn that’s a nice amount of ready info
Another way is Vex= "E" as in Eve and Vax= "A" as in Adam.
YAY! was not expecting this, you guy's just made my weekend.
SAME I am so excited to have you guys see it!
@@brettcoon9773 Same
☺️🥳 love hearing that. We are excited to share our reactions and learn more about Vox and critical role from the community 🙂
24:00 - Spot on; Vex'aliah (the group's ranger, subclass beast master) very rarely risked Trinket (the bear) in combat situations; which is why Scanlan (the bard) considers Trinket to be useless.
Even more of a reason to love Vex 😊🥰
Yessss I love this show and critical role. I've been a critter since the first episode of Campaign 2 at the start of 2018. So glad you guys got around to watching this.
We are looking forward to it 🥳🥳 The trailer was great and the first few episodes didn’t disappoint 🙂
absolutely love Bethany's quick and spot-on answer to "But where was the bear when they were in to fight the dragon?" at 23:56 :)
Trinket has inevitably seen hard times during the game, but Vex (and Laura, her player/actor) was indeed very caring and fond of him.
We are team Trinket ☺️🤗🥳
Oh you're gonna love this, once this series first aired Season 2 was already been confirmed.
😎🤟🤩 happy to hear we will be getting more soon 😁
But after we get through the show we should go back to that 😀
Y’all are going to love this so much. Also, that *sense* and headaches Vex has is essentially dragon radar
Neat little power to have 😀
Man this series is so good, I cant wait for you guys to get to episode 3 and beyond because that's when it gets good
😎🤟🥳
These first two episodes were based on events that happened in the groups home Pathfinder game before they transitioned over to 5th edition D&D for the stream. Everything after is based on events that originally occurred live on the stream. A few things got changed for this show but there's a lot of references/in-jokes/allusions to other things and it's pretty close to how it went down, albeit condensed for the sake of ease and time.
There's a bunch of comparison videos that show how close various moments in the show are to how they went down in the original, might be cool to check some of those out once you've finished the season maybe?
Also, I gota laugh; "Like any good pet owner when things get dangerous you leave your pet in safety."
You clearly don't know Laura Bailey.
😂🤗 we don’t. But we will learn 😁
I mean the red weasel can't die because of a certain fae but that's beside the point.
Poor Sprinkle.
@@ShadyDemoness the red fae weasel was matts " im to good of a guy to kill off my freinds weasel" matt is generally a sweetheart though.
Great.
I'm sure you'll like the upcoming episodes even more ;)
Vax and Scanlan aren't bisexual, they're pansexual, so the whole field is open to them lol
I myself am lesbian and was thrown out of the tennis club for it, because the heterosexual women think... now they are in danger O.o
Bisexuality, is nothing "in between" and these people are also not insecure, this is a valid sexuality. End of discussion !
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Percy had to deal with totally diffrent things.. no time for girls or men :p
I'm excited for this reaction. You're in for a treat.
It’s a fun show. And we need more of those 😊
"Where was the bear during the fight?"
Well you see, bears are quite expensive to animate, so....
Bummer. The dire wolves all over again 😢
Each dragon type usually has a different breath type or theme. Red = Fire, Blue = Lightning, Green = Poison, White = Cold/Ice
really cool stuff
Green poison dragon would be tough one to go up against 😯😨
It's funny to me that reactors keep seeing the similarity between Allura and Daenarys because she is voiced by a GoT alum....Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand)
Oh nice! 😀
Crazy that they had so many backers for this. Every little bit counts and it shows what a community can do when it comes together 🥳🥳😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Not sure if anyone already mentioned it, but the fans are called Critters and mostly it is one of the most wholesome communities out there.

The rest of this season will be the briarwood arc so prepare for a fun and dark ride lol all hail no mercy Percy
No Mercy Percy 😁😀
17:16 "Wait. A fuck room?"
LMAO!!!
😂🤗
The ability to "sense" evil is an actual spell in dnd.
in the back of my mind, thought you would do this reaction and now you have! been waiting for this!! such a great show :)
Brought it to the forefront of your mind now 😜😁🥳
"Magic's all in the fingers.." That's what she said 😝 And it's true. I know ^^
No arguments here 😊
The boy is voiced by Sam Riegel's son, and the girl by Liam O'Brien's daughter, and I think they both knocked it out of the park. That would be an awesome bring your child to work day!
for sure 😀
Scanlan is one of my character in Vox Machina, he reminds me a bit of Sokka from ATLA
the twins are halfelves actually not full elf, keyleth is a full blooded elf, and dragons are color coded to what elements they breath and tend to be a alignment. blues are elecrick based and tend to be Lawful Evil
I believe Keyleth is actually a half elf as well
Lawful Evil is pretty badass term for a villain character 😈😁
Yeah... that kill for that soldier made me do the exact same face. Cause damn... that was UNEXPECTED.
Yup 😱
So glad you are watching and enjoying this!
Sadly the bear is not in many episodes mainly due to the difficulty of animating him.
Can't wait for you to watch move episodes going forward!
Poor Trinket. Hopefully next season the bear gets more love 🙂

I _love_ when Vex shielded Trinket's eyes from Scanlan's junk. 😃
😆 aww, I think I missed that. 😊 very adorable Vex
Been a critter for years
We will be doing more from the series. Episode 3 this week 🥳🥳
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Fantastic! Looking forward to it!
I find it very funny that you got Sherlock Holmes from Percy (glasses guy). His voice actor played Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in an anime called Black Butler which was inspired by the books
What a coincidence 😀😊
There are quite a few raw lines in Critical Role like the one at the end of Ep1, and then there are things you cant believe came out of someone's mouth like "Life needs things to live." - "You can dwell on the shit, or you can leave it behind in people’s beds and keep going." - "In the darkness, I say fuck."
Just to clear up the roles each of the members bring into Vox Machina
Percy - Human - Fighter Gunslinger
Keyleth - Half Elf - Druid
Pike - Gnome - Cleric
Scanlan - Gnome - Bard
Vex'ahlia - Half Elf - Ranger
Vax'ildan - Half Elf - Rogue
Grog - Goliath (Half Giant) - Barbarian
The Melee/Front line fighters are Pike, Grog, and Vax.
Thanks for clearing up the roles! 😀
Outside of Blizzard also, Ashley (Pike) is the voice of Ellie from the Last of Us
There's a video called "Why is critical role such a big deal" that presents the cast with some of the voice acting they did.
This is however during their second campaign so it will not be the same characters as the serie.
It's cool that they all got together to nerd out and play som D&D and have fun with it 😀🥳😊
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Especially when it amounts to being the first twitch channel by revenue, with an immense fandom and an amazon prime serie
It's like THE nerd dream
Great reaction, already loving the duo
Thanks so much! ☺️🤗😊
Thanks for letting us know that. That makes it way more interesting that this is sort of a random story in sense where anything can happen 😀
Not sure if this was said yet but the guy that scandland peed on in the first episode is Matt Mercer the main DM for critical role (he is basically the critical role main mascot lol)
Haha, we just found that out 😂
OK that's it. You are my favorite reaction couple now 💕
🥰😊🤗🥳 Thanks so much! 🥇
The first two episodes were what Matt Mercer and company figured they would be able to produce from their Kickstarter so that when they raised the $11 million they extended the season by introducing the Briarwood story-arc which will give you a lot deeper look into Percy.
Very glad that they got so much support for this! And hopefully next seasons budget will be big enough from Amazon to feature Trinket more 🤩
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2, I don't know if people will consider this a "spoiler" but in later episodes, Vex acquired a jeweled pendant that allowed her to squirrel Trinket away for easier transport.

Happy to join the fandom. This series is a lot of fun 🤩
Can’t wait! And yes, the initiation process has happily begun 😀🥳🥳
Hey hey we aren’t a cult. Yet.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Look up their IMDB's. You may be surprised at the characters they have voiced.
The reason why Kyleth's Call Lightning spell did nothing to Brimscythe, is that dragons are immune to the damage type associated with them.
That makes sense 🙂
Great! Y'all just made my weekend.
Nice! 😀🥳☺️
Lol, for further context, the average intelligence of a dog is 4, lmao.
😂 but his lack of intelligence is what gives him the kid esque innocence despite being a rage monster alcoholic barbarian 😛😁🥳
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 100%! I think Travis (his player/voice actor) once said that his goal for the character was to take a barbarian class -- which is all about raging and tanking, so usually super aggressive -- and make him have a soft side 🥰
You should totally watch the special showing who all voices the characters. Some really well known actors are involved.
Look forward to checking that out at some point 😀
This whole show is based on a dnd campaign it's really cool

Omg, how did I miss that you guys reacted to this???
The bear make less and less appearances as the show goes on because it was a pain to animate.
Bummer. It’s like the wolves in GoT 😢
the dragon animation in these two episodes is much better than any other dragon aniomation to me
This was created from Vox Machina of Critical Role, the level of story making that the DM (Dungeon Master) Matt Mercer along with many of his accents, voices, and sound effects he does along with the shenanigans the rest of the group get into is what, I guess you could say birthed this animated series.
Thanks for all the info on CR, Sol! 😀
Loved the first season of the show, but I love Critical Roll been a critter for campaign 2, The Mighty Nein (and that is how it is spelled, dumb auto-spell check). Trinket is just so huggable, they should do a plush of her. So Stay Safe and have a great day.
Trinket is indeed super huggable 🤗😊
There was a plush for the kickstarter. I would like if they did some to sell in their online store though.
Okay I don't often stick around for the commentary part afterward because it's essentially " this happened and that happened, blah blah" but you talked about your favorites of this and that, and what you think might happen, and it made for a much more engaging commentary moment. Thanks!
Edit: And the moment you were like "Like any good pet owner, when things get dangerous you leave the pet at home for safety."
You totally get Vex's entire personality right there: protect bear at all costs. XD

It's the first campaign they actually streamed. Campaigns 1,2 and 3 all can be watched on YT.
Oh, thank you guys. I thought The show was based in the first campaign they streamed. That's why I got confused.
@@wildbronco038 thanks a lot!
Had no idea about Pathfinder so this was really interesting to find out about 😀

The movie itself is about story of Ryu and Ken, about they origin, and about the origin of their master Gouken and his brother Gouki (Akuma). It is very well made. Trust me. That movie is worth to watch. It comes in parts, so i think that it would be easy for you to watch and upload reaction to your channel.
Thanks for letting us know about it
🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 No problem. Hope to see your reaction soon.
It makes me sad that they don't use the bear hardly at all...maybe next season 😄😉
Heard it was expensive to animate so now that they got picked up for second season. They need bear fund because we need Trinket 😁🥳
Sherlock Holmes vibe... Cough Dr Jeckle and Mr Hyde cough
😯
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 New to your channel, not sure how much anime you watch, but you can see he's the only one wearing glasses. Eyes are the windows to soul, as they say. So a common trope is to switch from see through to blocked when a character has a secret. Keep an eye on that.
YEEEESSSSSSSS!
That Dragon they killed, is kindve like the equivalent of a human in their early twenties. So there are Dragons far older and more powerful out there
That makes more sense why it was easier to kill then 🙂
Omg yes!!!
😁🥳🥳
Mccree voices the narrator and and a future character named sylas
Nice! 😀
'Bout time you nerds got into this! My hope is that watching this will eventually lead to one or both of you watching Critical Role in your off time. You don't need to know how to play DnD to enjoy it, but it's what helped me get into it once Covid started.
This is such a fun show. Can see why they have such a loyal and badass fan base 😎🤟🥳🤩
Just when you thought you were out, they pulled you back in 😜
Btw, have you watched Invincible yet?
Not yet but we plan to 🙂
ok NOW wen you do this you got my abo on this channel to XD
🤗
Their connections to much that you have been watching is deep. "I am my scars" scene from WOW Legion for example with Illidan and Turalyon, that's Vax and Grog in the show.
Or how about Vex as Jaina singing live ua-cam.com/video/-IhN1YfGXZY/v-deo.html
We knew there was a reason we felt that instant connection to this ☺️
Liked and Subbed for TLoVM. Bidet!
Welcome! 🥳🥳😀🍾🥂
You guys should watch the hazbin hotel pilot or helluva boss pilot there really good shows on UA-cam
