The connection I see to horizon too is in her Story from the Outlands, Alter says she is the one at the end, while holding a pic of horizon and newt. Titanfall is set about 20 years earlier. unless she can get a functioning time travel device (Anderson's gauntlet) by retrieving it from another dimension and going back in time to steal the ark fragment. intricate

I’m just throwing ideas out, but I think Alter is Horizon from a universe after a previous Horizon went back in time.
Horizon returning to the past does not come without sacrifice: If Newton had lived a whole life without Horizon, then why does Horizon return when Newton is still a kid? Perhaps time doesn’t “revert”, rather it actually resets. Alter can hop between universes that undergo this same purple-glowing end, those end being one where they galaxy is undergoing “purple erasure” as it makes way for a new universe that is identical but a century younger to be built on the ashes. Somehow, Horizon learnt a way to survive the purple erasure, allowing her to coexist with a second Horizon from a century ago. As “Alt-Horizon” (as I shall name the Horizon who went to space while the original Horizon stayed at Olympus without anybody knowing) goes to space, gets betrayed, and enters the present day, she will be left in a terrible scenario: stuck in the future, and unable to go back because Horizon took her place and convinced everyone that “she found a way to escape being stranded in space). Alt-Horizon would completely lose hope and become bitter, trying to discover a way to flee to different dimensions instead of “reversing time”, perhaps to wreak havoc consequence-free as a catharsis. Her scientific mind would eventually garner an interest at a world-ending phenomenon she noticed happening in a lot of realities, soon realising it is what her past self does when going back. This leads to the current game, wanted to get revenge by going to realities where Horizon is in the process of destroying reality, and helping her get there to then force her to watch the consequences of her actions as she resets the dimension, she aims to break Horizon mentally across all the dimensions she can. And she is going to accomplish this by pretending to be someone else, faking accents and creating false backstories to keep attention away from her true identity as Mary Somers, until she gets her retribution.
No evidence to back it up, I just thought it would be cool.

Perfect way to split the legends and the maps that way they can keep adding new legends without over saturating the legends pool. Two Apex games being played in different universes with the legends split between the two. Would work for the ranked splits too
Wattson has a legendary skin called “Fly-By-Wire” were she has a robotic arm!
That voice line was actually used bc the original concept of wattson had a robotic arm, the scratched the idea
I think the ares division is a hint of her past experiences as a test subject, and potentially why she does what she does, as she seems to just use the Ark shard for the main goal of always getting away. Again, she's literally mentally broken from going through so many dimensions and seeing so many worlds end that she completely lacks any and all empathy.
ARES definetly has something to do with it. There's a Wraith voiceline where she says that Alter's void passage or void breach (whatever u call it) reminds her of ARES tech. If you go back to the SFTO for Alter, just as Grrt mentioned, the ARES logo appears a few times.

My theory is that "the same person" who's destroyed all those realities is Horizon who fixed timetravel gauntlet; death of worlds comes because of malfunction in gauntlet or some timetravelparadoxtypething. And Alter knows that it's Horizon who's responsible every time, and Alter just goes to Horizon and offers the deal that she just can't say no to.
And the voice message left by Horizon to herself could be staged by Alter simply to manipulare Horizon into trying to find every possible way to go back. And so, Horizon finds the only one possible - the gauntlet.

I think that Alters only trying to help horizon out because she likes to see the end of worlds. Horizon is trying to mess with time to go back and see newton, so my guess is that in many other realities horizon's device screws up somehow and causes paradoxes or whatnot resulting in the total annihilation of that universe. there are even some new voice lines that hint at this like when Horizon becomes the kill leader alter will say "it's so refreshing to see this side of you" and other voice lines Like "just us left, now to bring out your destructive side" I've also heard one about horizon having the ability to "flatten worlds". Alter also has voice lines with Ash displaying interest in her betrayal of Horizon. In other words, I think Alter just wants Horizons tech so she can become a universal calamity.

I said from the beginning that alter is horizon actually I think it's the original horizon that time traveled to the past but it messes up the time line and ended her reality and now she's helping horizon to time travel because if she never time travels alter would ever exist

Maybe alter is after newt because it was never implied that horizon was the common denominator in every incident. He might be the one who was there in every situation and Alter wants to replicate or initiate the collapse of the world by helping horizon find Newt. Doesn’t seem to be out of kindness based on her personality. More sadistic than helpful. Could also explain why she doesn’t like ash for playing a part in removing horizon, slowing down the chain of events that could have taken place.
Whatever is the true background story it can’t be too complex otherwise it’d be a bit of a stretch imo

To the theory of who Alter is, i honestly think that Alter is the daughter of Horizon from a different dimension/reality because one of her voice lines between Alter and Wattson, Alter says "oh you don't have a robot arm in this dimension?" Which literally tells you she's been to different dimensions and met the other alternate dimension Legends.

Alter and Ash have so many voicelines and its all Alter teasing Ash about Ash betraying Horizon. And she even mocks her saying "Are you going to betray me too!?" I dont know if it helps in the theory that Alter is an alternate version of Horizon but it is very intresting.
Alter is Chinese while Horizon is Scottish so unless Alter is lying about her ethnicity and faking her accent she's definitely not Horizon

Just because they have different ethnicities doesnt disprove this theory. Also more evidence is that Alter could be short for Alternative.
I might be crazy, but the first time I heard alter's voice from a teammate, I immediately thought: "wait... she sounds just like horizon? Am I tripping??" So that's when I began searching online if there were theories about it. Thank you!!
