David Doty is the best source for ID that I've found. Strawser has about 300 or so pieces coming up for auction in two days, as well as a LOT of Fenton. Go to the LiveAuctioneers website. I've got a few tumblers and vases myself, but I' more into Bohemian glass. I occasionally sell on eBay myself... Scottys_Glass_101
I got my carnival glass in 1960. They had them in Local Carnivals . You'd throw a dime in the gold square irredecent ash trays. If it went in its yours.
Thank you for getting back to me. That is a much more desirable colour. With out knowing the pattern it will be more saleable and demand more money imo. I just had a beautiful dragon and lotus in lime green opal. On ddoty it was valued at 650 real terms I sold it this week on eBay for 95
Thank you for this video! The bowl that you can't identify (with a flower in the middle) is by Fenton, called Cosmos Variant. The only slight problem with this is the edges- they suppose to be more pointy ....hope you have an original bowl. Cosmos Vt pattern can be found in marigold (the one you have), purple, blue, white, iridized milk and red colours.
I love this video, very informative. I used to have 2 matching fruit bowls, same as you show in this video, the unidentifiable fluted flower bowl in marigold. I believe they belonged to my great grandmother and have always thought they were from the 1950’s though could be older. I’ve always said the flower was a marigold but don’t think it actually is? I say ‘used to have as I sold 1 of them at a bootsale a few years ago for £7! Ouch. I still have the one though don’t think I will be selling that one for £7 now. I guessed the good luck bowl was a fake, thought the finish was a bit dull?
Great video question i found a heavy carnival glass vase with a red sticker that said carnival glass dishwasher safe its the real deal any value or price range
Hi thank you for your comment. Carnival glass is beautiful and worth collecting. I wouldn’t rely on other dealers until you know them. Not because they would catch someone but they could be making a mistake you don’t know.
Carnival glass was not produced until after 1900. Also, the actual carnivals were in the 1920's and 30's, not the 1950's. Facebook has a very well run "Vintage Glass" group that could be very helpful on this subject.
I remember my grandmother having something similar, but smaller and she called it her Sugar Barley bowl this was orange and pink in luster .. would that have been Carnival glass ?
You say the most you can get for Carnival glasses 1000 pounds not really good with converting money from pounds to u.s. but I've seen people here in the US paid $7,000 for a rare piece and I've heard of pieces going for as much as $20,000
I first suspected the basketweave back with no Northwood makers mark, but the Good Luck bowl looks like crap and no makers mark. I think both may be knockoffs
I didn't know anything about carnival glass, but I noticed the edge of the darkest ruffle bowl to the right front of the screen seems to have a golden looking edge. I'm pretty sure that is the good luck one, which you identified as a fake. it looks quite a bit different that the others at first glance.
Dear Dottie: My Aunt had 3 China Cabinets full of Carnival glass Beautiful. My son is addicted to drugs and glass was stolen. My Aunt passed at 103, she cherished her collection. God rest her sole.
I have 3 pieces of carnival glass that are believer Orange or Marigold carnival glass. How do I determine what kind of patterns they are? I have a divider plate, regular plate, and decanter. They might be a set, I don't know. Please help
Carnival glass is such beautiful glass. Luv it!!
Thank you very much, i have a new film going on on carnival tonight
I’m new to collecting and this was very helpful, thank you! :)

Hi thank you for your comment. I love that idea much better than winning a gold fish lol
@@AntiquesArena SO true lol. Very informative though. I also have blue purple irredecent, what's your thoughts on that?

My mum bought it yrs ago from a charity shop I live in England I'm not in to antiques
Carnival Glass was first made by Fenton in 1907.
The one you can’t identify is a daisy I believe on the pattern. I think 1 is fake

Thank you for your comment I would keep the last bowl also for memories
Great video question i found a heavy carnival glass vase with a red sticker that said carnival glass dishwasher safe its the real deal any value or price range
Hi. Some carnival glass is still made now. Yours sounds very recent manufacturing but that doesn’t mean it isn’t carnival glass just means it’s modern
You called the 2nd one acorn and leaf. It looks like strawberries to me, not acorns. I am glad I found your site. It's going to be very helpful! tfs
Thank you very much

You kinda gave away which were the valuable ones, by your descriptions and opinions. 🤣

Thank you so much ! So helpful! A piece of Fenton Stag & Holly large ice cream bowl was given to me and was dying to know if it's real! It is OMG!
Thank you for your comment appreciate it
Glass it not a lot of money anymore
I have a question does carnival glass contain any toxic metals like lead?
@@angelagregory9419 no not to my knowledge
Thank you for the response @@AntiquesArena

My mama gave my a strawberries and dragons.
Beautiful!

Called it ,poor iridescence
👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍
the first bowl is fake , zeppelins came after the 30's
Denyse Phenix Zeppelins have been around since the 1900’s
Carnival glass was made until 2007
Wow
Hi
Thanks for sharing. Now I know what to look for when sea glassing or what I've already found and didn't know what it was.
Hi. Thank you for your comment. Glad to help

Good information - thanks! I'm pricing glassware from an estate to sell.
Thank you very helpful I been Treasure hunting a abandoned house
Can't sell it for love or money at moment stay clear..
Jerk!
There are so many "grape" patterns, that last one is "lotus and grape" I believe by Fenton.
Great information Walter. Thanks
oops , i ve got a lot to learn about carnival glass, lol
Thank you very much, i have a new film going on on carnival tonight
I think the Good luck bowl or the second one you showed
the one bowl you said was acorn, was strawberries I believe...

what company uses a "M" makers mark on the outside of the base carnival glass
An important point is that you can have different outside and inside patterns.
Lalique glass is on: www.cobwebs-of-brighton.simplesite.com
the unidentified piece is daisy by Dugan
Great to see a fellow guy loving carnival glass.
Very informative! Thanks mate. : )
Does anyone know the pattern on the one he didn’t know? I have the same bowl.
Not acorn, strawberry
Oh, well. I guess it was the one with the very plain half-circle legs.
Second one is a fake
were there companies that made the rare "red" carnival glass using a "M" makers mark during the 1920's
Is it an M or W? There were 2 companys, im not sure of the makers mark of Millersburg, but the first makers mark of Westmoreland was just a W
Great info
Beautiful
The last one is worth the most.
❤️
Thank You very much!
Thank you for your expertise.
Thank you hun
Very little expertise...poor examples of carnival glass....reproductions..NOT fakes.
very helpful and smart man you are
