8K ICEBERGS & WILDLIFE - Nikon Z9 N-RAW

- Footage taken in Greenland & Svalbard on my trips this July and August 2022.
My first 8K timeline taken with my new Nikon Z9. After several years filming with 4K I'm absolutely amazed by the details and sharpness of a good 8K camera. The Nikon Z9 films 8K N-RAW Internal with 60p which is simply amazing but 5 seconds of 8K 60P footage uses 2'500 MB. All the shots except for one are filmed handheld with the use of the IBIS of the Z9 (so no gimbal). The lenses I used are:
Nikon 14-30mm F4
Nikon 24-120mm F4
Nikon 100-400mm F4.5 - 5.6
Edited and color graded in DaVinci Resolve Studio 18
ATTENTION: You are NOT allowed to use any of this footage without purchasing a license - this also applies for non-commercial use. Any use without a license for commercial or non-commercial/private use will be prosecuted by the lawyers team of photoclaim. Of course it is allowed to embed or share the original youtube-link to my movie on my channel but it is not allowed to use any UA-cam-Download tools and upload or edit my footage in any form. My footage has been featured in well-known TV-Productions (BBC, TerraX,...) and in multiple projects of globally active organizations (Google LTD, Hisense, BMW, WWF,...).
Sorry for the watermark, but I have some serious issues with people stealing my footage and selling it illegally on Shutterstock. We are currently conducting a major lawsuit against Shutterstock. The injunction was submitted in summer 2020. Thank you for your understanding.

I use a 55 inch 4K HDR LCD TV as primary PC monitor, set up just behind my desk so it's about 90cm from my eyes. Videos like these pop out as if I'm looking through a window to another place.

Hi Stefan, I'm involved with the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group and am a huge fan of your content. Z9 is the dream camera for me at the moment, if photo AND video are your top priorities then this is arguably the best Hybrid in the world, possibly even better than the Sony A1 and Canon R3. This footage is insane, what lens did you use?!

Thank you very much. YES the Z9 is simply the best hybrid camera on the marked. The N-RAW is beside some SLR / LOG issues FANTASTIC and the image quality insane. I used the 14-30 F4, the 24-120 F4 and the 100-400 from the S-Series.
@@stefanforstercine beautiful, in particular the arctic fox and the polar bear feeding were both beautifully shot. If you want an idea of the wildlife we see in Ireland check out my (extremely amateur) video "IWDG Adventures 2021" on my channel. Plenty of wildlife, BBC Earth and David Attenborough are about to film a series documenting our wildlife.

Wow tolle Bilder Stefan😍 mir gefällt auch dein Colorgrading im RAW Workflow. Ich schneide nun auch mit Davinci seit 2 Wochen und bin begeistert vom Workflow. Speziell auch mit dem M1 Max. Mache nun auch die ersten Erfahrungen mit RAW Video. Jedoch verarbeitet Davinci kein ProRes Raw. Ich wandle das, aber in Cinema DNGs um und mache die Raw Entwicklung über LRTimelapse und Lightroom. Mir fehlen bei RAW Video Postproduktion in Davinci und anderen Schnittprogrammen einige Regler. Da ist die Raw Entwicklung bei Foto viel komplexer. Hoffe da ändert sich bald was. Besten Dank für dein Film und ich freue mich auf weitere Bilder von dir😉

Is the audio track an original or is it available to purchase somewhere? I loved it, it was the perfect backdrop to your wonderful work.

You said that you are not using gimbal; so, it looks like the IBIS is working quite well.
I wonder what a DJI RS-3 will allow you to do.
The 8K is convincing, considering the price.

Hi Stefan, I feel your shutterstock pain. Looking to pick up a Z9 but heard problems with Davinci and a Mac M chip. I'm struggling to find anywhere to download an actual n-raw clip to test before we commit. Doesn't need to be 8k, 4k oversampled would be fine. If anyone knows where we could grab one.. fabulous. If I may ask, do you see a difference shooting at 8K and rendering to 4K, compared to shooting at 4K and rending to 4K? I see this movie in 4K and the details are amazing.

How were you able to shoot this with little no moire? What I noticed on Nikon Z8 cameras the crazy amount moire shown on moving bodies of water.
