This is exactly the video I needed. I have a habanero plant that’s a little over two years old and never given me peppers, only flowers that would fall off. It was suggested to me about pollination but I wasn’t sure how to do it. Thank you for the video.
I'm so glad you found it! I was having the same issue with my indoor pepper plants. Hand pollination was so easy and it solved my issues, I hope the same is true for you!
Would you please tell us where you bought the lovely hydroponic pot you are using. I too live in Michigan, in an apartment and even though I am upstairs with Balcony, the squirrels manage to get up here and play havoc with my plants. I want to do indoor bell peppers and cherry tomatoes.
Absolutely! those are the 'bubble boy' buckets by HTG supply - link here amzn.to/3ZLD78w I have 6 of them now and LOVE them! Great for beginners and anyone who wants to do DWC!
I've tried hand pollinating our peppers using a makeup smudge brush, but it doesn't have a high rate of success, hence why I'm here. I'm terrified our plants will break if I shook them, though 😂
They can handle it, I promise! think of it as a strong wind out in your garden, your peppers have nice thick stems and they can handle some movement! :)
Most cultivated pepper plants have both male and female flowers. That is why shaking them, or manually transferring pollen from one flower to another, will lead to successful pollination with just a single plant.

Use a toothpick, it's better for picking up pollen.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll try that method next time :)
Which one is the female?
