I have just ordered a large format camera, I can see many challenges and mistakes ahead. Great to see results from FP4+ as that will probably be my go to film. I have just come across your channel, so now going to binge watch your other videos 😊 Look forward to seeing more and hopefully I can get some tips for when my camera arrives 👍
Richard Rollinson - My Analog Life Thanks for watching! Large format is a commitment, however the results are more than worth it. I’m on a large format trip as I type so there will be a new video soon. Which camera did you get?
Awesome, sounds cool look forward to seeing that video 👍😊 After much thought, searching I decided that I should buy something reasonable priced to see if I like and get on with the format, so as I am in the UK I have bought an Intrepid. But will invest in good lenses, so if I do love large format I can carry the lenses forward. But I have never used a large format camera before and only been shooting film 2 years now. My goal is to shoot wet plate collodion, but thought I should try and walk before I can run so to speak. Hope you have a good trip and thank you for the reply 😊
I really enjoyed the vid Spencer! I make mistakes all the time, so its nice seeing that Im not alone. The photo turned out absolutely stunning!! Seriously great work my friend. Perfect composition!
You didn't hear me, but I said "don't forget the tripod" when you left the car the first time :). I usually forget the film holders ..... but it makes the pack lighter.
Hi Spencer, I really enjoyed watching your video. This is the first one I watched so far from your channel and I'm already hooked. Good job! I have a 4X5 camera and I love this format, but I'm finding myself with no photographic inspiration. I hope seeing your enthusiasm and dedication can spark some great ideas! Congratulation for the initiative! ps.: Great picture!
Thanks for taking the time to check it out! I'm a little nuts, I sold all of my high end DSLR gear to do this. After I pulled my first negative out of the fixer I was hooked! I think it's amazing that I can make prints 40x50 and higher and still have all that detail! You'll love the 4x5. It has lots of detail and is much easier to carry than the 8x10. I know what you mean about trying to find the perfect photo. As I'm driving around Florida, I try and keep my eyes open to see potential subjects. Do you have a particular subject that interests you? Let me know if I can do anything to help! Thanks for watching!
Nice! Yes I do like landscaping too, and I live in Florida also but a little south. I'm in downtown Boca Raton. Anyway, I didn't find a favorite place to shoot yet. I'm still looking for a nice park or spot around here. I have a lighthouse not too far from here that I'll may try one day. But thanks for your prompt reply. ps.: I'm selling all my medium format gear to focus on Large Format only. "Take care!'
I'd rather be that kind of guy than the "forgot to close the lens" guy (I've been that guy) :-D. At least if you forget the dark slide and realize it during the shoot you can still shoot again!
Thanks for watching. Correct, there are a total of four trees, I counted the two in the middle as one since they were so close together. I thought about cropping out the one of the left, however the census was to leave it since the pine trees seem to "stair step" up to the dead tree. Thanks!
Hi Spencer love your videos... Love your style... Keep them coming 👍😀
Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment! There is so much here to photograph. Thanks!
I did notice you working so rapidly and did not see the tripod. You need the walk anyway, but make sure you drink lots of water.
Pepe Guitarra Thanks for watching! Summer will be here before I know it and Water is a must! Thanks!
Hehe. The photo came out great despite the self-inflicted challenges. Good to know I'm not alone!
Mike Thomas Thanks for taking the time to view. It was a lot of fun. Went out today and came home empty handed. Oh well, I never know. Thanks!

Appreciate the kind words. I never know what is going to happen. Thanks for taking the time to watch it!

J. Riley Stewart it's amazing how much better a tripod makes your photos come out! LOL! Thanks for watching.

Im a forget to pull the darkslide kind of guy too
LOL! Glad I'm not the only one! Thanks for watching!

I enjoyed the vlog. Nice image ... but I counted 4 trees!

I think the comp worked fine as-is. The middle trees do group as one, to the eye.
