Musta hit that 2nd fish on the head - instant hook up. Lack of normal forage for Stripers is one of the reasons considered for the decline in Weakfish in past years
Went out fishing from Moriches inlet, and the two keepers we cleaned had bellies full of weakfish as well! Not sure why that is. Cant believe the bass you caught were eating those as well
Nice bike, I’ve thought about them an appreciate your reviews, but I’m from Islip and I know of no where your allowed to use them, beach side ? Have you tried them on loose sand ? Thanks.
Is that in the neighborhood of Truman's Beach? I have 3 Mustad Big Eye bucktails. They have 2 places to attach the leader - top & front. Any advantage, one or the other, swimming them over rocks?
John when fishing from shore ,do you recommend a certain head type for the bucktail? What is the make of the jigging strip you are using?.Does a certain style of jig head make a difference in the action in the surf or is it personal preference? I guess this is what i am trying to say.Thank you. Also one other question. Here in the Chesapeake Bay rubber skirts similar to the ones used on a spinner baits for largemouth bass fishing have seemed to become the popular choice over bucktail on jigs.Primarily these jigs are being trolled by charter captains attached to umbrella rigs and trolled as tandem rigs with a six inch Tsunami shad used as a trailer.Have you used these living rubber skirts on your jig heads to cast to stripers or do you just have confidence in using bucktails? Hope this makes sense. Thanks John.
I definitely prefer deer hair over silicone. A smiling bill head is what I normally use from shore, but the hair density is probably more important. Fat Cow Jig strip, 5-inch.

Ha thanks for not using music to keep viewers watching , Just good fishing content!!
I appreciate the comment!
I’ve lost my fair share of buck tails trying to be John skinner

Good video!!

Hey John, as you spend more time with this bike I'd be very interested to hear how its drivetrain holds up against the salt air and spray.
I have another e-bike that is a couple of years old and I've ridden the beach with it and it shows no issues from the salt.
Hey john great video. Any idea when the new bucktails will be available? Been looking forward to this for a while . Thanks
They'll be ready for next season.
@JohnSkinnerFishing awesome thank you .
Those E-Bikes are really affordable. Wife has been asking me what I want for Christmas.
They've really come down in price.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing I thought it would be $5-6k.

Hi John. Great video/info as always. What’s your drag setting and strategy if a bigger fish wraps you into the rocks?
Loosen up, let it run, carefully start pulling back. Keep in mind it's hard to cut braid if not under pressure.
Hey John where is our video from the other morning. It was a pleasure to fish that blitz with you Brooklyn Sean 😂
Hi Sean! It publishes 4pm today.
Looking forward to seeing it 👍🏻
Skinner can you start your videos of with the date please

In that area. Either connection point is fine for this application. Using the right weight to swim over the structure is the most important thing.
Nice bike. What were the bass feeding on? Small weaks, it had to be a huge school or sand eels.
Bay anchovies mostly.
High water spot flood. At low no depth jus mud
Great video John...was this outing recent?
About a week ago now. Still loads of bait and birds around, and a surprise showing of mackerel.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing wow, great to hear. Been quiet in the Huntington area...hopefully another wave coming through.
Thought i could get out and head your direction this morning but north wind had other idea. Heard of some albies in Montauk. Any show up there?
I've seen no albies out here.
I appreciate the video but I do wonder, what was under the birds? Blues? Stripers? Other?
All stripers.
Unusual to see them eating weakfish, or unusual for them to be in the area?
I've never seen anything spit up baby weaks in this area. We catch some 3-6-pounders in the boat in the general area in early fall.

@JohnSkinnerFishing Thanks for the reply.
How does the bike compare weight wise to your old town?
Slightly lighter with the battery out.
Do you wear bootfoot waders when fishing from beach? I find korkers to be bothersome when fishing from sand.
Yes, bootfoot.
@ thanks, I’ll be getting a pair for sand beaches. No more headache.
Nice. Still no Albies?
I've seen no albies out here.
How much are your bucktails ??
They'll be available next season.
IS THIS ON THE NORTHSHORE????
yes.
Much too bulky as a foldable, but otherwise nice
😭 the bots hit John skinners page now cmon anyways this is a great video and I’m not a bot like these clown 👇
Thanks non-bot!
Can anyone explain what the bots are trying to achieve?
