I used to always poke fun at pommies gardens but now I see that you guys have all the space for cricket and the like and we (in Australia) have tiny garden spaces and no room for lawn or cricket (despite vast lands). How things have changed!
Hi Shaun, I use pro kleen myself for green up. Good product. The grey patches are due to your dribbling. Keep your lance at 45 degrees until you've completed spraying. ❤
Cheers Sean. My new lawn seeds have some impressive shoots. Can't wait to give its first cut. Hopefully next week with the rotary and then iv got a new cylinder mower once is established. Then might treat to some iron or something. Cheers for another great video. Glad you made it to a good concert with the mises 👍
I use the same seaweed and iron, nitrogen I use Higgys water soluble along with KissMyGrass spring summer about once a month, I’m currently on Rye grass and it looks amazing!
Boom attachments are so handy, I love mine. I use a 2 or 3 nozzle attachment. With the 3 nozzle and everything premixed I can spray a 1/2 acre in 20 minutes. I like to spray the perimeter first to avoid any staining. There's a few types of non staining iron like FEature 6-0-0. Chelated iron is another option that's less likely to stain.
Good job Shaun, if i nicked wifeys iron, she would hit me with it🤣🤣 Talking about heatwave, its about 10pm in Pafos and temp is 29c🥵 Humidity is just a killer at night, cant wait for flight home tomorrow!!
Another brilliant video Shaun to cheer us up on a Saturday night. Really made me lol, thank you! Your lawn is looking FAB and repeating your tips is really sinking in and helping heaps. I recently bought the Titan battery knapsack from Screwfix (getting too old and lazy for that pumping mularky!) and I'm very impressed as the battery lasts ages and it seems like a very robust bit of kit. I noticed you aren't using the anvil nozzles this time around, unless I'm mistaken? I do like your quick release couplings on the attachments too, I didn't realise they were an option. Keep up the great work, it's great to see you happy in your work and making us laugh! Cheers, Mick 🙂
Ahh thanks Mick.. Haven't seen that sprayer will have to take a look at it sometime. Yeah these nozzles are fine for many things but I prefer red anvil for weedkiller applications
Just renovated my lawn, and now some weeds are starting to grow back not sure what type but it’s in quite a big area. It’s like a long bit of string when I pull one out.
Hi Shaun…. Great vid as normal… I’ve just ordered the pro iron in granular form to dissolve. Would love another vid showing the difference… and you’re right I’ve used iron before and my wife pointed out where I’d missed … as she would 😮 Thanks again B😎
Great tips, thank you Shaun, the lawn is looking fab!! Quick question, do you do other UA-cam content? That little raised eyebrow in the middle of the "Ironing of the lawn" makes me wonder :). Anyway keep up the cracking content, love the comedy cameos.
Brilliant job Shaun fair play,my garden is starting to go light green so definitely need to do something, looks like that pro kleen is out of stock atm on Amazon
@@LawnRight Sounds good. I have been cutting the communal area less than an inch this year. It's terrible clay rubble dumping site soil but its in full sun so it looks like a bowling green. Even at 15mm there is poa seeds lying down and spreading under the grass. they are easy to spot and pull out. I'm seeing how the front lawns go this year. by September i'll know what bits to swap with planting beds. I may just give up on grass if it thins by next spring. I did as much as can be done and spent a lot of time and money rebuilding the lawn from the soil up. I have no motivation to have to renovate it ever again. bent/ fescue should take care of itself but if it thins out too much then poa will just infest the exposed soil.
Ive just used lawn magic this year and the lawn has gone so thick and an amazing green colour after only 2 weeks. It has hidden all the dog pee spots as the whole lawn has gone the same dark green shade . Have you ever used that shaun
I have got some 20-0-10 feed and fertiliser. It says 4-8ml per litre of water, 1litre per m2. My garden is 200m2 so is the product quantity more important than the water, as I'd need 200litres!
Great video Shaun. Your lawn is looking great. Any recommendations on the cheapest mower or method to product some love stripes. I've got a fantastic 6 a hyundai mower but no roller.
Love the videos! We’ve had some new turf fitted by the builders landscapers and it’s is nowhere near level. I’m planning to get a load of top soil and level it all off. Would you recommend waiting until early autumn to level?
Hi if your gonna lift the turf now then you can do it any time with plenty of watering.. I you're gonna cover the turf with soil it may kill it off and need some seeds.. You could just slowly build up layers of soil a cm or so every month in the worst bits and use a brush to work it in between the blades.. But yes nay thing with seeds etc are bets in the autumn or spring
Great video as alway! I've brought Elixir Lawn Tonic and have a back pack sprayer. Lawn is 50m2. Dilution rate is 4-8ml per litre of water and apply at 1litre per sq. My question to you is do I really need to put 50litres of mixed solution onto my lawn? It seems a lot for a back pack sprayer (which holds 16litres)
Basically it's 4 to 8ml per sq metre so 200ml to 400ml of tonic to cover the whole lawn.. Unsure of how much water you will need as it depends on what you're using to apply. With a sprayer you may only need say 4 litres but spray or apply just water first and see how much you use then make it again but add in the tonic... Please note never do this with weedkiller that's got to be applied at the right ratio
Shaun, fantastic once again, glad you enjoyed Pink here in Liverpool 👍 if I’d known I would have come and said hello and thanks for the tips…..Kenny (Liverpool) 👏👏👏
Hiya, I love your videos! I just wanted to ask for you opinion on the Cobra Fortis series.. I'm looking at purchasing a scarifer for my business, currently leaning towards either a Cobra Fortis 17 or a Stihl as yours... My main reason for wanting the Cobra - it kinda does it all with the cassetss..Buut they're blinking heavy! 70kg+ - don't really want to be luggin it about too much.. What are your thoughts on Cobra products in general?
Fantastic job! I’ve got an earthworm infestation in my lawn. Roughly 10 casts per square foot! Any advice how to control them? Every website I see titled ‘how to control earthworms’ basically just says ‘they’re great - just accept them!’. My lawn is ruined by them! Any suggestions?
Hi.. Very very hard.. Dosing with ironinthe weeks before they come will help create an acidi environment they dont like... Also heavy repeated topdressing with sand may help but it needs repeating. Finally they can b picked off with a hair comb or golfers swish/switch can be used to awash them off... If you get a dry day a brush will disperse them.. A blower will also help
@@LawnRight thanks Shaun. I’ve read about the acidity - I’ll have to give that a try. I wouldn’t mind if they just crumbled away and left the grass there, but I’m left with hundreds of 2” circular bald patches in the lawn. 😭
Your lawn looks great, Shaun! However, your neighbor's lawn looks like a miniature version of the Somme. What happened to his lawn? Maybe he should call a lawn care specialist...if only there was one local to his area. 😁
Hi I've no issues with it My lawns looks looking better. The reviews are really good. I get what he said about chelated iron and it is better and greens up better than non chelated
Instead of leaving the patch for the grass plants to creep in, you could dig out some grass plants from other areas of the lawn, and cut out and plant the stolons. Just lay them down horizontally just below the soil. Experiment 2 perhaps. I need to get some iron down on mine too.
Hi sorry about that. I get lapse. Thing is I'm measuring out up to 10 times a day in my van and I've gotten used to what certain amounts look like. With the seaweed and emerald green I was estimating (as Lawns an tolerate some variance) , but the nitrogen was measured. If I'm ever applying weedkiller that is always measured precisely. I'll try and remember for next time though 😊👋👋
The product i metioned in the previous post is 'Elixir Garden supplies liquid lawn tonic'. Wont let me post a link, it keeps deleting my comment. Thanks.

There were a lot of poa seed heads around and under the soil you filled in. I would overseed it or it will end up being a poa patch.

Shaun have u heard about mixing adblue with water and spraying your lawn with it to green it up a cheaper alternative to lawn fertilizer
Hi I've seen it but never crossed my mind.. Might have to look at it sometime thanks
