If you're asking why I didn't mention Kassadin ult, its mana cost is extremely steep. The only reason Kass can sustain it is because of his W. Otherwise he would have to recall every time he hits 0 mana. Building this on any other champion would only allow four or five uses max. Then you're stuck with 0 mana unless you gear your abilities to restore mana, in which case you would need kass's W, which is not that great of an ability on its own. Furthermore, it forces you to buy mana items like Arcangel.
The no resources clause applies to things like energy. We're assuming the champion uses mana for any mana required abilities.
But you said you were analyzing them in a vacuum setting. 🤔

Fun fact: Dota's Ability Draft gamemode disables all abilities that duplicate spells like Living Shadow and Mimic for this exact same reason

In legends of dota they aren’t lazy and don’t spoil fun, they keep them in and make them work with everything.
Dota used to have Meepo's ult, I once managed to combine it with Naga's illusion. Enemies had nothing to once I survived early game.

Viego himself has pretty bad abilities, so you spend half the game as a pretty lame champ.

Question? Can this series go into roles like assassin's, mages, tanks and fighter? I would like to see the "perfect mage" biggest problem I see is some are considered both like some are assassin/ fighters like Vi or mage supports like Ivern but you could always go into subclasses like bruiser, brawlers, enchanters and such, also ( personal opinion) mid should've been separated into mages and assassin mid laners. This current list seems like assassin's only, kats passive, zeds W and Fizz's E along with a mage/assassin Ult. Only anivias Q isn't a assassin move but a mage midlane with anivias Q veigar E/Ahri E ( that's the charm I think) Zoe W for the massive utility or Vladamirs Pool, Lissandras Ring of frost or Tfs Cards ( tf cards would be higher but the yellow card on him with the kit I've already designed would be overkill bc stun+aoe damage is already there ( anivias Q is aoe right) and gives you better options for flash,flash ahri charm. And perhaps Asol ult or Neeko ult and for a passive Veigar for scaling And if not zoe W than zoe passive which would make AA's after a spell deal bonus damage which seeing as there is a charm and stun in the kit already would make it easy to land

Amazing how Twisted Fate is almost always in the honorable mention; really goes to show how good TF's kit really is, especially for a mid laner.
With that said, the best mid laners according to the selected abilities are as follows
1. Leblanc
2. Zed
3. Twisted Fate
I think that both have polaryzing abilities, and their kits are balanced around them, but if you throw them in a vacuum they become broken.
Leblanc has basically no passive, and her W is both her main gapcloser and her waveclear. Also she mostly needs her W and E to complete her highest damage/ranged combos, both having big downsides (W puts her in melee range/E is a really shitty skillshot).
Zed has 0 point and click abilities, so he has to land multiple skillshots from different angles while doing a combo. E is kinda easy to land but has limited AoE.

@@arandomperson6293 in theory it's correct, but for it to do any real damage you have to land 5/6 skillshots from 2/3 different locations so in the end it's still an ability that relies on skillshots so you are kinda cheating on this >:(

I feel like kassadin r atleast deserves an honorable mention. It is a flash, an aoe nuke all with no cooldown. It has great offensive and defensive use that makes it a great ability.
Mana cost doubles every cast however so that's why it's not there I would assume. A stack 1 Kass ult compared to a stack 3 is very different

@@user-gw1li6jq5i because if the enemy team have shit ults for sylas, his ultimate sucks. Sure if there is a moekai, pyke and malphite on the enemy teams it's awesome, but likewise if there is a zoe, rell and ori it sucks

yasuo's W does t work really well with other champions offensively, so it is most likely a defensive tool on this type of theory crafted champion
wind wall only blocks projectiles and there's still many champions in the game that doesn't have a projectile to be blocked by wind wall. Wukong for example so it is very situational
it's not even remotely close, honestly. Zed w is a reliable escape, gap closer, and has the potential TO double the dps of your other basica bilities.
I cant imagine a Zoe Q + Leblanc W that would be the biggest nuke in the game by far lmao

@@chewie4418 the problem is that some ults such as kennen ult or katarina ult arent as effective on sylas because the other abilities/passives make their ults ults as sylas cant use his ult to stun or katarina cant use here ult 2 times in a single fkin teamfight.
@@IndieCube901 Sylas uses Kennen's ult EVEN BETTER THAN HIMSELF. he can dash through walls, stun by himself and stick even more with his W.

Kat passive, Zoe Q, TF W, Fizz E, Kass R
You get to slap a Q one direction, blink in and point-and-click CC to hit big Q for free, become untargetable if target dares to fight back and finish with a blink, then either repeat or gtfo
I would honestly love to see a gamemode of this kind
ekko's E should be honorable mention.. AA reset, a dash and then a blink, and damage that applies on hit effect

@@d4s0n282 maybe the mana cost is too high at more stacks or you have to wait for level 16 to be its most effective, but still... though not complaining, most of the honorable mentions are pretty great too
@@jbvc243 even without kass w to offset mana cost, any champ can afford the first 4 ults in a team fight, and with all the other crazy shit with ability mixing and resets he probably would need it
@@jbvc243 then take it with the w, kass w is still EXTREMELY good, its literally mana sustain, almost no hero has that, it goes up to 40% mana, also just having it for a blink at lv 6 every few secs is still really good
He put a pinned message for Kassadin's ult if you didn't or haven't seen it yet.
With the hypothetical champ you’ve designed, you’ve essentially only given them Anivia’s Q and Fizz’s E in terms of actual use. That’s all that Zed W, LeBlanc R, and Kat Passive can interact with.
Overall, the champ lacks damage and is entirely dependent on hitting 2 W copied Flash Frosts, then an R copied one, which any Anivia player will tell you hitting just one is hard. Since the shadows can’t move, the Fizz E is really only effective for the main body. The champ is highly, HIGHLY mobile, but outside of that their CC is hard to land and their damage is much too unreliable compared to, say, regular Zed.

I was really surprised Qiyana’s ULT wasn’t mentioned...
I mean let’s be honest you have to. Be a really good and highly experienced qiyana player and also have to know how her ult is gonna react to each terrain on the summoners rift map and it’s a situational team fighting ult so it’s not reliable enough trust me I know. Plus I feel qiyana would be better if she had access to all elements in the base and more places to ult
Her ultimate was the reason she was nerfed into the ground. It is one of the strongest ultimates in the whole game
I think it's because most of the people playing League keep forgetting that she exists

I was thinking this too, it was my first thought of best ult when he was talking about best E's
I think maybe it fell a few rungs since the item rework as it takes an exorbitant amount of mana and it doesn't become super dumb until later. And games are currently as short as ever.
@@SoulDevoured also lets not forget the nerft it got to how far you can use it. Until s5 i think it had a longer range.

I feel like with Lissandra ultimate could be good here too with this w and e as well to set up quick picks in team fights. W behind, e in, ult somebody and teleport back to w.
I like this series! I would love to see a video on the most broken abilities in league though, to create the ultimate champion
I personally think Sylas has by far the best W, unlimited healing with enough cdr and insane damage. Basically an execute ability with heals and a slight cooldown.

I would honestly have chosen Miasma for the W. I think it's so crazy powerful - not only do you shop dashes, you also get a very big slowing zone and the slow is very strong at max rank.
Anivia q and e with zed w and Leblanc r sound like a nightmare, you land q then w e r and you instantly do all their health
Don't forget Kata passive, kill someone and do it again, pretty much instantly too, since LB mimic has low cd as well

The Wording on Living Shadow i feel makes it a bit to much of an unknown factor. If it said "Mimics your non ultimate abilities" then it would be great for all the reasons you described, but because it specifies those two abilities by name, im not sure if it would translate well to other kits. It might just Mimic Zed's Q and E, which would be far weaker. I honestly think Pick a Card has it beat in synergizing with other champions kits, giving good CC, Damage, and Sustain all in one ability without having the weird wording Living Shadow does.
I do agree with all your other choices though, I also find it funny both LeBlanc and Twisted Fate appear 3 times in this video.
Alright, here's my take at an annoying mid...
Passive: Malzahar shield
Q: Heimerdinger Turrets
W: Pick a Card
E: Ahri Charm
R: Neeko R
The idea is that you're just an unstoppable pushing machine. Anyone who comes at you gets pick a card stunned which makes all your turrets shoot a charged beam. Then you charm them, thats another beam, THEN you Neeko R, that's another beam and they're walking into you so unless they cleanse they're boned. Malzahar shield is an insanely good passive for negating burst/cc when they come to you. The idea would be to basically be super heimerdinger and anyone who tries to fight in your turrets just gets murdered.
Now... Roam God, the terror of bot lane!
Passive: Kat
Q: Anivia stun
W: Pick a Card
E: Fizz troll pole
R: Destiny (TF ult)
I think Zed's shadow is good but the reliability of a point and click 2 second stun that can be amplified by things like lich and RFC is too good imo. Destiny ensures you get fed every game and allows you to snowball your team to victory. League is a team game afterall and even if you're a god player on a broken champ you still have to play with your team :)
Karthus Q should get atleast an honorable mention, the damage ceiling on this ability is probably THE highest out of all midlaners. Coupled with the 1 second CD and the range, it's standalone one of the best Q's.

Kinda curious on the reasoning as in why sylas' ult wasn't even an honorable mention. Its extremely versatile, and allows you to adapt to the situation at hand. Not to mention, it allows you to use all ults, since ratios are turned from ad into ap
It’s situational at best, your choices are limited to how useful the enemy ultimates are and the one you may need could be on a long CD or out of range for you to take (maybe they are dead).
Oh and Sylas is what makes other ultimates work not his ultimate, it’s basically a broken mess unless he has it.
A good example of what I mean is Ekko R in spellbook, it’s super inconsistent and doesn’t work unless you have the ekko following you which you can’t guarantee it to appear unless you are ekko.
I think that the best w in the game is the pre-nerf akali shroud, the one that allowed you to attack enemies under towers, it is like fizz e, just that enemies can see you, and you can attack them, I would even say it was the best ability in the game. Great video, I can't really think about the other spots, but one that comes to my mind is a passive, yasuo's that will probably fit in any ad or even hybrid champ.
My list
P: Brand/Seraphine: depends if you see Brand as a sup or mid, but either way 3% max health magic damage on all abilities plus mana regen if units are killed plus the ability to stack it 3 times for AoE AP scaling max health damage is just too good both for guaranteeing winning trades and destroying entire teams with all-ins. Otherwise Seraphine's passive to double an ability plus gain an empowered auto is pretty great.
Q: Vel'Koz - First up, it has a very long range and unlike Xerath it requires no charging, it does a decent slow for a fairly long duration, has a nice chunk of damage, a reasonably short cooldown, can hit multiple enemies and it can be seriously problematic to dodge since it can be detonated to hit in a T, allowing you to poke around minions and stack that Brand passive nicely. Also given mana back on kill which means you'll rarely be starved of resources.
W: Vlad - lazy answer would be the Zed for all the reasons mentioned in the video, however having what's essentially a better Zhonya's that's also completely free completely negates assassins, allows you to dodge skills shots, and allows tower dives and escapes.
E: Neeko's root; deceptively potent, although it doesn't do the most damage, having the ability to lockdown multiple targets for potentially as long as a full Morgana's Q can be outright broken if used correctly.
Ult: Ahri; makes you near-impossible to escape when at full charge as well as makes it significantly easier to escape, gives plenty of outplay potential, makes stealing objectives easier and deals damage as a nice bonus.
I feel like neeko’s e would be better than fizz. A root that goes through minions and increases in size a duration when it does would be pretty great. I also think it would be way easier to land if you had Zed w
My idea is a bit more of an annoying concept.
P- Veigar.
Q- Morgana
W- Twisted Fate
E- Cassiopeia
T- Teemo.
An odd mix until described. This is meant to be the ultimate ramping champion, using E to stack up damage so fast, it becomes outright unfair. Using Morg Q can catch far off foesninto a Tf stun, or you can do a TF stun/slow for an easy chain CC. E spam will grant 1 ap a second against an enemy champion, makingnits usually very low damage less of an issue. TF blue card enables one to keep mana for E in lane. Then Teemo shrooms, with the passive, become nukes for wave clear and those nasty kills across the map. And what's worse? With the Q and gold card, it would be easy to catch out a foe and throw it on them with no chances to escape. And it only becomes better that Teemo ult counts as a poison. So the E naturally synergize. Funnily enough, this kit could be used bot lane at first as well thanks to its lock down and have them act as a "Kill Support" later on

Yassuo´s passive is also very strong i would like to mention.
Only works for crit champs or, at least, auto attack champs with AD ratio
So a Le Blanc with double crit chance and a little shield will be pointless
But on any ADC, the passive will be broken
+ The double crit chance is because Yasuo needs defensive items, bc Yasuo is a melee dps and one of the champs that have the worst base stats in the game (490hp lvl 1)
This will be interesting, as you have to consider two factors, assasins and mages

I think ryze's e is also a really stron ability, bcs it could give anyone a decent vaweclear as well as good dps with its low cooldown, not to mention the big presence in a teamfight where the enemy is staying close to one another.
Unfortunately Ryze Q and W are the only things that E empowers unless we’re also counting this theoretical midlaners Q and W. But zed W doesn’t do any direct damage so the root is lost

@@VarsVerum Yea every third cast is a double cast. Also for every ability cast near allies will hit enemies with those stupid notes for a lot of extra damage
Yeah, that was also partly why I put Malz W in there. Malz W has some pretty insane potential if paired with low CD Q/E/R. Especially if he gets some CC.
Are we forgetting that mobility is king and Kassadins R is one of the best in the game? Imagine his ult on literally any champ.

not even mentioning akali w is kinda mind boggling. the ability leads to such insane outplays and is extremely versatile

yes but its versatile for AKALI, in a vacuum Akali w is useless most champs don't even have energy to restore

@@nathanmulligan2945 I must disagree. Having an area where you can be invisible and dance around the enemy with increased movement is insane, especially with Kate passive and Lb ult. It let's you have at least 2 up at once and you can keep dropping them for a very strong unpredictability game.

You can zone people in your stun, have great sustain for early game and amazing damage late as well as tf god tier potential
I kinda expected Ahri's charm to at lest be mentioned. If you can hit it consistently, it is just a lockdown on everybody. Lissandra's ult would also be on my list.
I think galio's w should be an honorable mention. Not only you passively get a magic shield scaling off your max health, once you activate it you get 40% magic damage reduction and 20% physical damage reduction at max rank and it scales off your ap AND magic resist. By the end of the charge you can deal up to 240 magic damage max rank, again scaling off your ap, leaves all enemies in that area taunted and their movement speed stays at 60 for 0,5-1,5 seconds. Although you get slowed by 15% by casting it, i think its worth for the outcome
If you combine veigar's passive with anivia's ultimate you can stack phenomenal evil super fast because its ticking damage

I can agree that picking skills from mid lane would be difficult considering the fact that mid is mostly comprised of mages and assassins which have completely different playstyles. But here is mine after doing some research:
Passive: Phenomenal evil power (Veigar)
Poking or killing enemy champions stacks AP.
Q: Baleful strike (Veigar)
Last hitting minions now also stack AP. Also has decent damage.
W: Nether blade (Kassadin)
Higher auto attack damage and can hopefully help alleviate mana issues.
E: Playful/trickster (Fizz)
It Will be used for mobility and defensive purposes. Also helps close in the distance for Nether blade.
R: Riftwalk (Kassadin)
Can be used as a gap closer and escape. Also does a butt load of damage.
Basically, a close-range high damage mage that is also very mobile. This kit does lack CC but it hopefully can make up for it by it's high damage and mobility. Although from what I've seen, Rift walk and Nether blade can obliterate most champions already and now we combine it with Veigar's infinite AP scaling.
a problem with it though is that scaling, even though its looks strong and all, and kass ultimate and w BOTH scale really hard with ap, I just feel other combinations is stronger but I truely love this idea lol your ap scaling on this is insanity, mid game if you dont feed you could prob one shot ez at only lv 11

Think I'd take annie stun passive, anivia q stun, Cassio E for the machine gun proc of stun, and LB ult.
Not sure what to do for w, because Energy is not Mana, so if this is a mana champion I wouldn't be able to cast the w.
I feel zed ult give you way more you still get a doble cast since your shadow will cast abilities on top of a gapcloser a "disappear" and an execute
I reckon that it would be kata passive, Vlad Q, Zed W, Veigar E, and Leblanc R. Not much detail here as they all were mentioned, but just imagine a w-r-q combo with this cahmp.... heals to full insinatly, and basically 100 to 0's the enemy laner.

Setup for Q by TF W (which also give infinite mana)

Any Low CD ult
If you kill someone you basically get stuns 3 second worth of stuns back (plus you don't need CDR because reset)
Veigar passive
Syndra q
Zilean w
Syndra e
Vel koz ult
Basically infinite ap and Syndra stuns, the vel koz ult won’t have quite its normal damage but with scaling ap it would be quite overpowered
Ight picture this, Veigar passive, Cass Q and E since you cant have her E without her Q, LeBlanc W, Neeko R, build tank so you can just spam e as much as possible in fights before dying and you'll have 1.5k ap at 25 minutes, insane healing from Q followed by E, never ending repositioning with W and it doubles as the easiest Neeko ult setup you'll ever see which will so crazy damage from all the ap you'll have AND sets up into free Q's for healing and damage.
Just kata passive zed w and leblanc r creates the op solo carry champion.
Lets say you got Viktor E and Twisted fate Q
Now you can W R and you have two shadows, now just do a random Q E and you hit everyone. If you scaled enough and killed at least one enemy, you can do the same process all over again
I think the best q would be zoes as champs with things like dashes blinks ect like zed kat leblanc renketon i can go on its damage will scale to something even higher than on just zoe
LeBlanc, with Q, W, and R all making it into the best ability ranks, makes sense. There was a reason they reverted her rework, after all.
Individually they're VERY strong abilities. But together? ehh...
I’d say vlads ultimate is probs best, it’s like a stronger Ekko ult if u hit a few champs, so not only does it deal a ton of damage, but you heal a ton and anyone hit takes 10% more damage from all sources great for team fights or solo
instead of another mobility spell on E (fizz's playfull trickster) i would put ahri's E (charm ) for my personal preference i would even swap anivias Q with ahri's but that just me , the boomerang mechanic and tru dmg seems rly fun to play with with (living shadow) & (mimic) so basicly

If mid laners with another role with a higher playrate (e.g. Renekton) were included, Morgana's Dark Binding would be one of the best Qs in the game imo. Good flat damage, huge AP ratio, super long root, could be duplicated with Living Shadow and Mimic, etc.
For mid, I'm gonna go unorthodox, mostly because it seems fun to make a nuke like this.

Reasons:

Q:
Leona illuminates her shield, causing her next basic attack within 6 seconds to have a 0.25-second cast time, gain 50 bonus range, deal bonus magic damage and stun the target for 1 second.
Shield of Daybreak resets Leona's basic attack timer.
W:

I have to mention Wukong’s W over Zed’s for best W in the game. Sure you can’t use it to go over walls but it grants invis, mobility, copies your Q and R and great confusing enemies
I guess something like Veigar passive, syndra Q, zed W, veigar E and ekko ult would sound good or Annie passive, syndra Q, zed W, Katarina E and neeko ult.
Isn't Aurelion Sol Q just a better version of Anivia's Q though? It's much more versatile, cus it provides movement speed and lets you cover a bigger area while also stunning a lot longer if used from long range. I guess it is worse when used point blank, but that's the only downside, really.

At From lvl 6 onwards you can roam increadibly efective, and have a point and click stun of 1+seconds that secures landing 1.5+sec passive stun and 1.5 second leBlanc root. Making a full ability rotation and a second q near impossible to miss, dealing more than 220+100% AD+ 250% AP demage while in lockdown and at least 75+90% AP poison afterwards.
With Everfrost you get another 1.5 sec root and if you have leveled w your full rotation has 3 second stun+3 second root with 5.85 second w cooldown. For lvl 6 1Item 7.5 second lockdown, another 1.5 second stun at a 1.5 sec cooldown and 879+2*Base AD Magic demage not calculating runes and how ever many aditional Auto atacks you can weave into 7.5 second lockdown and teammates coming to aid.
This is obviously even better if we exchange cassiopeias q with that of karthus. Or Cassio Q with anivia Q and LB E with Cassio E...

Zed W is very strong but I think it only deserves an honorable mention ; you're forgetting Vladimir W. It's a zhonya's hourglass that gets on less than a tenth of the cooldown, and lets you move during the stasis, and gives you 37% bonus ms and ghosts you, and deals AOE dmage and slow, AND heals you. Most broken overloaded ability in the game. You can almost never gank a vladimir bc of this ability so he can pretty much do whatever he wants, unless your jg has a long-range point and click perma cc. It's a basic ability that literally does 7 seperate things, on an under 15 second cooldown. If riot doesnt want to delete this ability from the game the least they could do is make it Vlad's ult
If instead of PC league it was wild rift Veigar’s passive we evaluated, would it overtake fatarina’s because of how much more universal his wild rift passive is?
