Congratulations to mixer/engineer Teezio for his GRAMMY nomination on Chris Brown’s tenth studio album ‘Breezy’, which was up for Best R&B Album at last night’s awards.
As part of our #TheMakingOf series, Teezio gave us an access-all-areas look into the process for mixing the opening track to the album’ ’Till The Wheels Fall Off’, featuring Lil Durk and Capella Grey.
Teezio takes us through his vocal chain for Chris, the importance of reductive EQing, as well as how he co-mixed the track with his collaborator and close friend, Bainz, by using Audiomovers.

Can't, he records with auto-tune so you will struggle to find raw vocal tracks from CB

Yes. He first pre-amps the vocals using hardware with the Neve 1073, then he sends that to a Tube-Tech CLB (hardware) then it sends to Pro Tools where Auto-Tune is printed onto the vocals themselves. Everything else it what it is.

Nope search teezio chris brown recording template on UA-cam. Teezio only uses autotune. EQ (lowcut only + slight 2db of highs&air) & slight Rcomp with hall & delay while recording not more. So it’s mostly like recording raw only just slightly tweaks.
