I have tried this before and it worked for me. I need to do some more today so we can harvest some late tomatoes. Thanks for sharing, have a great week... Calvin

+Southern Country Living Calvin...Its so hard choosing which tomato plants to duplicate. The ones I grew this year have been so good. How about you..which varieties are you choosing?

@@GreenThumbGardener My favorite was the better boys, the Juliet cherry tomatoes and we had a tomato plant this year that we didn't know the name of it but it made bigger tomatoes than the better boys. I will be saving some seeds from the unknown plants for next year.

I've watched a number of tomato propagation videos. Wanted to know if only a sucker will root or if i took a leaf stem would it also root?

Hey Dan..not sure if that will work as never tried it. It wouldn't hurt to try as an experiment. I've only had nothing but success with the suckers because they are naturally in a growth stage. Try it out and let me know if it works out with leaf stems.

The wife has call me a mad scientist for many years. “Cloning” is just a new fangled word for old-fashioned propagation method that’s been a round for thousands of years.

My wife calls me that among other names..lol.. Cloning sounds fancier. My grandpa used to do it all the time before all the fancy terms came out.
