Lockdown has really helped both the CB and Amateur Radio hobbies. Zello has become very popular and since the RSGB started distance exams requiring only a laptop at home, they have reported a huge growth in people sitting the exams and upgrading. I really like network radio, the 7 Network Radio channels (00-06) are very popular around the world. There is also several IRN channels too as well as their nightly net. As a ham I also have installed Peanut and Echolink and talk all over the world when propagation is bad on traditional radio. Amazing tech and free.
Been on Zello 6 years. Can’t say enough good about ZELLO. It’s my radio in the big truck. It’s great when the bands are not good. I can discuss the different ways to set up channels. Be glad to help or set one up for you. You can also use it to set up contacts on radio and let others know what your hearing and when you’re on. Made many radio friends that would never have been possible.
It is indeed a real radio and that is regardless of the mode of transmission. I worked for both an EMS and law enforcement agency that used network radios. Because of the unique geographical attributes and the need for data features and clean audio all made network radios make sense. The technology certainly is cellular but the format is emulating traditional radios. It makes sense because officers/medics/firemen don't have to learn a new system. Phone apps are NOT as good for emergency purposes. Screwing with phone apps and their menus is dangerous during hazardous situations. You need the simplicity and immediate reliability that the PTT format offers.

Yeah but what's app sucks for logistical dispatch. It's just a better version of Nextel. I'm a bike messenger and Whatsapp would be very inconvenient to use.
I had the Inrico TM-8, over two years ago and had trouble with it. As I remember it cost about $270 🇺🇸 US. I dealt with some guy in Lisbon 🇵🇹Portugal, who has a place in Portland, Oregon, and it took a long time to get the refund, until PayPal decided in my favor. I also had the Rfinder DMR Handie Talkie K-1,over 2 years ago through Bob, W2CYK, RFinder dealer out of a place on Long Island, NY. It was a purchase over $1000.00 with accessories. After about a year Pay Pal gave me a refund of $800.00, so I lost over $200.00 for the returned accessories. I will NEVET deal with them again. What I didn't like about the WIFI use in the mobile was that I needed to go through the Tethering to the hotspot on my smartphone to have a connection to the internet to connect to WIFI as at home, or have a Sim card in the Inrico TM-8, to connect to the internet while mobile, requiring to pay for a wireless phone line with a phone number account as an extra expense. I rather stay with my amateur radio repeaters. Good luck, Ray, W2CH.
Baofeng a radio? - It is a peace of s..t and prohibited in many countries for instance in Australia. This $40 rubbish is good only if you cannot afford something else that is good and proven to be excellent by HAM radio people.
You always can purchase a headphone and install it with ease, however, that is too much of an effort for a HAM. Nevertheless, you docu is rather faulty and I suggest to look around and find someone else explaining it better.
Depends on if you want to talk to people who like radio for the fun of it and make lifelong friends. Some people don't. We look to the day conditions let us talk to our zello friends on 11m

How mase
Prices for radios start at £150
When you have hf radio you wouldn't buy cb radio again
Some truth in that but i recently bought another little rig.
Will not b buying the inrico...thumbs up for the vid.....
I also had the Rfinder DMR Handie Talkie K-1,over 2 years ago through Bob, W2CYK, RFinder dealer out of a place
on Long Island, NY. It was a purchase over $1000.00 with accessories. After
about a year Pay Pal gave me a refund
of $800.00, so I lost over $200.00 for the returned accessories. I will NEVET deal
with them again.
What I didn't like about the WIFI use in
the mobile was that I needed to go through the Tethering to the hotspot
on my smartphone to have a connection
to the internet to connect to WIFI as at home,
or have a Sim card in the Inrico TM-8,
to connect to the internet while mobile,
requiring to pay for a wireless phone line with a phone number account as an extra
expense. I rather stay with my amateur radio repeaters. Good luck, Ray, W2CH.
So I suppose you not a real radio folks say dmr and nxdn are fake too
Baofeng a radio? - It is a peace of s..t and prohibited in many countries for instance in Australia. This $40 rubbish is good only if you cannot afford something else that is good and proven to be excellent by HAM radio people.
You always can purchase a headphone and install it with ease, however, that is too much of an effort for a HAM. Nevertheless, you docu is rather faulty and I suggest to look around and find someone else explaining it better.
You assume too much. Who said I was a HAM ?
That is cheating. I would not be interested in it
Depends on if you want to talk to people who like radio for the fun of it and make lifelong friends.
Some people don't.
We look to the day conditions let us talk to our zello friends on 11m
Whatever. It's just a better version of Nextel. Ideal for logistical dispatch. My tired old yaesu 2 meter goes about 10 feet without a repeater and it sounds like shit. I like real radio too but this definitely has a market
Looks like another toy that's all.
I forgot my password to unlock my S200. What would you do in my case?
You know I am not sure. Ive not touched mine in months. Maybe look for a forum.
Wrong! A mobile phone is a radio it uses radio waves just like the poc radios, therefore it’s a radio. A true phone uses wires.
