The Marriott Bonvoy was actually going to be the next card I applied for and this was very helpful since I did not know some of the perks and how they worked. Thanks!
I love these cards, those Bonvoy are my keeper cards, I got the Canadian and the US ones, the free nights easily covers for the annual fee, I used a free night downtown Chicago rate was 573$
Nice. I got mines April last year so I haven't gotten my free night. But I managed to snag 2 nights at a local Sheraton from the sign up bonus with points remaining. Would've been $480 + tax
30 elite nights now if you have bonvoy brilliant and bonvoy business card and pay the annual fee. I'll be platinum member forever now and staying at Marriott's hotel all the time
Great video, Ricky, thank you as always. One thing to note is that I signed up for an SPG card maybe 3 years ago, and then signed up for the new Amex Bonvoy Personal credit card in August, and Amex did not give me the bonus again because of my previous SPG bonus. Something to note for the community... :(
Thanks for this info. I actually had the marriott card from chase before they shut it down. Marriott then invited me to get the SPG card. I got welcome bonuses for both.
With the current devaluation of the program, do you recommend I switch my points to aeroplan? Eventually I wanna get aeroplan credit card, got roughly 116k MBpoints
I have MBonvoy, and I'm debating getting Aeroplan card, I currently have the BMO World Elite MC. Any other best suggestion besides Aeroplan? I was debating Scotiarewards but aeroplan is star alliance member is there another option like aeroplan ?
The value in Scotia Rewards isn't too high, and is better suited as a secondary card than your main points strategy. Depending on your travel goals, you can look into any of Aeroplan, Alaska, or Asia Miles for long-haul international travel.
Great video as always! Love your editing and ending bloopers haha. Btw, when is the ANA The Room review video going to come out? Saw you on nonstopdan video.
Gotta be honest, I’m not in the habit of filming every single flight I take yet. I got huge respect for the aviation UA-camrs like nonstopdan, because it’s tons of work!! I’ll endeavor to make up for it with some videos on Korean Air First Class and Qsuites later this month 😊
Might be a silly question but Are these elite statuses for life or just one calendar year? So If I become a platinum member in 2020. Do I have the same status next year in 2021?
It's valid until February two years after you earned it. So if you become Platinum in 2020, you'll hold the status until February 2022. If you requalify (stay 50 nights) in 2021, your status would renew until February 2023, and so on.
I believe the Explore rate still gets treated to elite benefits these days, so you could still benefit from the Silver Elite status. The 50,000 bonus points and free night certificate will also be useful, for when the Explore rate isn't necessarily such a good deal.
do they give you the 35K points each year to use as you choose or only one night stay at a category 5 or lower (or 6 with point saver)? I'm planning a trip in a year to Hawaii and its going to be 240k points for 5 days. Each night is 60K (stay 5 pay 4).
So if.... I had a personal card, and business, and my husband the same, that would equal 4 anniversary free night certificates for category 5 hotels. Has anyone used those back to back at the same hotel?
You could definitely do that. Just reach out to the hotel to let them know you're staying back-to-back on separate reservations, and they'll ensure you're kept in the same room.
Hi @Prince of Travel I am planning a trip to Asia this summer and I am looking to get this card soon but I have a question. I would apply Bonvoy Card and I will be booking 10 stays at hotel for this summer. This will give me Gold Status, right? (15 stays from the card + 10 stays from hotel). The question is, do I become Gold Status immediately after booking 10 stays at hotel? or I would receive after checking out hotel?

I had a Marriott Rewards card and upgrading to Brillance, they also cover costs for expedited airport screening in USA
That's a great perk for my US friends too 👆🏼

This is one of my favourite channel!
Thanks for the video. What resort is that?

What credit card(s) would you like to see me do an in-depth video on next? Comment below 👇🏼

Maybe personal vs biz plat, and touching on the differences in their travel perks and statuses.
Great idea Arsalan!

Td first class vs td aeroplan.
Is the personal or business preferred? It could be as easy as setting up an LLC and paying with the business card even without doing any business.
I just checked and it's now 80k points in canada
Question: if you have AMEX Platinum that gives you gold status, and apply for AMEX bonvoy, would they then downgrade you to silver?
Great video as always! Love your editing and ending bloopers haha. Btw, when is the ANA The Room review video going to come out? Saw you on nonstopdan video.

Prince of Travel Haha fair enough. I just followed you on the gram!
Amazing video thanks again! A quick question tho, can u transfer Bonvoy points to MR points that belong to AmEx
you cannot. you can transfer MR to bonvoy (though this is not a good use of MR) but not the other way around.
May I know anyone here trying to get the US Bonvoy card instead of the Canada one? Is that a good deal?
Fantastic as usual!!
Thank you!! 🙏🏼
how many points give you a free hotel stay?
Great video, as a Canadian how do you apply for an American card?
Here’s how: ua-cam.com/video/iyIKw5UQdw0/v-deo.html

Is there any point of getting this card if you have the employee explore rate bonus? When I use the explore rate I don't earn any points

One night stay at category 5 hotels. And these anniversary nights have to be used within that year
Eric is spot on. It’s a certificate that’s only valid up to 35k.

Yes, you'll earn Gold status, but only after completing your check-out of the 10th night.
75k
You filmed this in a barn? 😂
A chalet ;)
