The MHA dub is probably my favorite dub, but Shigaraki’s Japanese VA’s voice sounds really calming. Idk why, it just is. If that man made a Drama CD, I’d be there in a heartbeat.
The Japanese VAs sound like they're just reading from the script, only putting the minimal amount of effort compared to the dub

Knowing that Nana chose Toshinori over her family really makes you understand why Tenko really hates All Might.

@@yumekawaxkashikoma20 nah pretty sure he unblocks the memory's of his past during the re-destro fight. He hates all might from a purely ideological standpoint (and no doubt due to AFO influence/grooming) nothing to do with his grandmother in this scene.
Hmmm she didn't choose toshi over her family she chose saving the world from All for one over being there for her family but if you ask me she also did it for her child.

Tenko never really knew who Nana was, just that she was a hero. And Shigaraki at this point doesn’t even have memory of his family, only the residual trauma and hatred

To me, he just sounds more like a great villain with great dialogue. Honestly dialogue and performance is what dubs have the potential to be better at than sub for an Anglophone audience.
But the Japanese voice for Tomura just sounds unique and alluring.
I watched the whole MHA in sub and I really don't feel like I am missing anything by not watching dub.

Both are really good, but with the dub, it sounds a bit more childish. And that’s good, as Shigaraki can be childish, and his hate for all might stems from trauma he faced as a child

Why does Shigaraki's sub voice sounds like bakugo's voice
In sub I actually could feel him screaming that with all the breath he has. Pure hatred.
In dub he sounds like he is just doing it casually.
I liked the dub imo, the sub sounded like the audio quality was just better in the clip as well.

Sub is way better. Dubbed actors don't put that much emotion into the characters like the subbed do

@@fumkioyuki8457 He was useless until the liberation arc. I didn't see him as a threat until he was set "free". I know he did damage with the ua first training but after that, he was weak. Even his team was not that useful and they were a poor group. Chisaki is a better villain imo.

I often forget that he reverts to childish behaviors because of his trauma. But every time I’m reminded of it, it makes me so sad :// especially in his argument with Mirio in 361 when he told him he had no friends and he talks about how his childhood friends say he’s “a really good boy/really nice” and they enjoy spending time with him. He’s one bad dude but damn, so fucking tragic. I seriously wonder how things will end with him.

@@Unknownblurryface it’s more like All Might is (partly) responsible for molding this society into what it became, one where people rely too much on the heroes and expect them to be the ones who save people and fix certain issues. When he needed to be “saved”, no one was there to extend a helping hand, ignoring him and thinking that a hero would eventually come to help. Ironic how the first person who did was a villain.

Buddy, you speak English, Eric Vale also speaks English, of course the dub would have such an advantage when it comes to the how every single word is being said.
But as a sub watcher, to me the Japanese one is better.
Maybe it isn't just as emotionally broad but to me it certainly is more intense and impactful.
Though, maybe you believe the same in case of the dub so maybe it's just a matter of preference.
The dub has more of charisma than the sub

I personally like the sub more. In the dub he sounds like your typical villain voice. But in the original he’s got this quieter, almost calm, sort of voice and that makes me feel like he’s more unhinged than any voice trying to sound that way.
He doesn’t sound like a villian he sounds like a child lashing out. Which is what he is.
Honestly him being calm is really weird. He’s a child throwing a tantrum that’s his character in the early seasons

Watching this out of context you just think he's saying it because he's having a villainous breakdown, but after watching season five and six now it's understandable why he said that, and I can't blame him.
Shigaraki has every right to hate All Might if not heroes in general because the grandmother (The mother of Shigaraki's dad) chose heroism specifically Grand, Torino and All Might over her family specifically her son and after Nana's death the son grow up to devoting her and would go on to take his anger out on his adopted parents and later on his son and daughter (Shigaraki and his sister)
So, because of the grandmother's decision that resulted in her son taking the anger out on her grandchildren (Shigaraki and his sister) it's safe to say that I can't blame him for hating heroes, however the real person Shigaraki should be mad at is AFO because he is the reason why Shigaraki is in this position.
I love how dam bratty he sounds in the English dub.

Two of the best dubs in anime. MHA and AoT.
I love the dub so much more, you can feel the hatred more in the dub.
Generally most of the time subs and dubs are pretty equal in my eyes, but I would say the dub won this particular contest in a landslide. Like it wasn't even close. In hindsight, this is a story about how schigaraki went from being a petulant man child to a symbol of absolute fear and terror. And the kraken his voice is just the more ebb and flow of that in a vocal representation.
The dub is basically what Trunks said to Vegeta when he let Cell go Perfect.
It's one of those dub voices that change the character it self. The dub a more childish sounding behavior but u can really hear the hate in the sub.

I think the dub did him dirty💀 Why did they have to make his voice so strangely perverted and squeaky? His original VA has a deep raspy voice, nothing to compare with the dub… it’s unfortunate but it takes away from the seriousness of the anime. Same for Deku
