- This video takes a detailed look at the Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 manual focus lens, describes how to use it on digital mirrorless cameras, and analyses image quality using sample images.
I have a couple of these and I agree, f8 does appear to be the optimum aperture. I use mine on my T90 and A-1 bodies. The 35mm f2.8 nFD is a usefully sharp lens too, and I use it in preference to my 1971 35mm f2 chrome nose, which has spectacular performance but it’s just so heavy!
Great video! I bought this lens today for an absolute bargain. Now I only need to buy an adapter to see what it can do on my Sony A7III
My 28mm fd came in yesterday. My initial test shows me it's a fantastic lens! Images are extremely sharp even at f2.8. I'm using a Panasonic G9
I got out my old A1 and one of the lenses I had was the breech mount 28mm 2.0 ssc. I've taken a sample roll and dropped it off for developing. I'll let you know what the results reveal.
I bought one of these a week ago. I'm having a terrible time with infinity focus. I'm using a Pholsy FD to RF adaptor. I used both F8 Nd F16 Zone Focusing. I had no luck. Even with focus peaking the distant objects were not in focus. I even tried focusing directly to infinity using focus peaking. These are also out of focus even though they show the red halo on distant objects. I'm I doing something wrong? Or is this simply an issue with the lense I bought?
I Like The Lens
I bought this lens. How can I get it to fit to mr Canon FT QL? What sort of adapter do I need?
dear friend, your review is really helpful. I am trying to use the same Canon FD 2.8 lens for FD to MFT adapter ( K&F Concept ). When I attach Adapter to my lens and try to control the aperture , it doesn't open/close the aperture. Did you ever face this problem ever ?
Nice lens review!
