He is definitely the irregular and healthy heartbeat in one of Australia’s best and most innovative prog rock bands of all time…!! I totally agree with the importance of Stockman and his invaluable contribution to Karnivool, the “bastard son” of Birds of Tokyo.
1st time I heard this was on a DVD featuring some of the best songs and their music videos that made it onto triple j' s hottest 100 back in 2010. We're now here in 2024. Moral of the story, good music never dies
I think their origins are firmly in the nu metal/alt metal sound of the late '90s/early '00s... L1felike being almost explicitly nu metal... I think the EP they released before Themata is also quite indicative of this influence...
Featherweight/Some More of The Same off their Persona EP fucking slays. You listen and you know Karnivool were destined to become something so much bigger than some Korn/Slipknot ripoff band
I've said it thousand times already I will say it once more Jon Stockman is Australia's biggest national treasure. God that bass tone is insane🥵 We need All It Takes playthrough, pretty please🥺
@@liamjenkins82 For years he used a 6 string Warwick Thumb bass and another 6 string Warwick Corvette. Originally he played Ashdown amplifiers. Now he has his own line of amps and effects designed around his sound. It’s a Finnish brand called Darkglass.
I think its one of them bands that get not really acknowledged but make musicians good musicians. Its just a step when you listen to the right music and how it changes your listening and playing style completely. In this era its is like bethoven x9 for me
This is one of the craziest bass* (originally thought it was guitar but guitar shreds too)* parts in any song to me. THAT SHIT IN THE CHORUS SOUNDS LIKE BEES! Absolute creative gods, can't wait for the new album!
Karnivool is underrated I don't understand how peaple don't listen to good music all this gen z kids I am one of them as well but I don't see myself as an gen z kid who has a attention span of a 2 years old
Remember when they released Themata and it was fucking amazing, the last song built up and Up AND UP... and the rest of their songs were shit forevermore
It seems like it kinda try's to have that gritty aspect that some of the 90's music videos do..Its not TOOL its like if you threw TOOL, 3 Doors Down and a Christian rock band into a blender..its not horrible..but either go TOOL or go home..
Jon's bass tone is so massive it has its own gravity.
Gravity is a product of mass. It confers weight on objects, not the other way around. You’re welcome.
@@sourcescience Amended to ensure alignment to the laws of physics 😉

You spelled UNIVERSE WRONG ;)
PHYSICS IS JUST A HUGE NONSENSE
There is no way that Karnivool would be as heavy without Jon Stockman and his ginormous bass tones
It’s his birthday today!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
So good Aye !!

I love this track so much. Karnivool is so underrated it hurts.
New album please, tell them 😅🙏
Maybe because they're not productive enough lol

Dont be afraid to upload a HD version when its 2021...
Jon's bass tone is so gritty it exfoliates your eardrums.
I sometimes forget that Karnivool looked like a full on nu metal band at one point

I'm glad I can now experience this video in vivid 480p gloriousness.
Cheers, lads.
And in mono it seems?
@@mcgarnacle21 it's stereo...but this sound quality really does suck!
😂😂
Penguins in Antarctica have a bad effect on the Internet in Australia. Therefore, only 480p
I'm surprised Jon Stockman is capable of walking with balls as heavy as his bass tone.
These lyrics aged well. 👁👌🤟
I've said it thousand times already I will say it once more Jon Stockman is Australia's biggest national treasure.

What sort of bass and equipment does the guy use?

Scary comparison considering the lyrics to this song mirror a lot of what's going on in society today.
@@Brave_New_Tube remember that music is somewhat a gateway to our reality in sound waves… but that’s my thoughts
Holy shit the drums and bass in this track are killer
This is the first song I've heard from them, what a banger!

Oh dude, enjoy the journey.
