  • One of my top Sega games. Afterburner on the 32x vs the Sega Saturn.
    Love both games.

What happen on the 32x version colors?

So that is a good question. I had to watch the video again and yeah the colors are off on the 32x version. I'll have to do some testing on that and see what happened. Thanks for the heads up on this.

It is so much smoother on the Saturn than the 32X, there really isn't any comparison.

That is true. But I still love the 32x version of the game.

I think the Saturn ran it at 60 fps whereas the 32X ran it at 30 fps.
Were both run on actual hardware or emulation?
Emulators are not perfect. Colors can be slightly off.
And if this was actual hardware, you video capture device might have to adjusted (color balance or timing maybe?)to more accurate color on the 32X side. Its noticeable on the first stage, looks too green maybe.

They where on real hardware. I found out that the Pound cable on my Sgeag Genesis was not showing good color and the sound was off. Since that Video I have moved it back to the TV.

@@thegamingcorner4095 Makes sense. Something else just occurred to me. In NTSC composite signals, the green and luminance are run on the same signal path. The 32X also showed lack of contrast and appeared to be brighter than the Saturn image.
