I love this video! ❤ I am such a CN RAIL fan! All that appeared on this are winners! My favorite is the CN work train the colors are awesome! The stripes on the boom of the crane resembles CP RAIL! 😃 The engine building by Pike Stuff nice on scenery i have one partially put together as I'm typing this i see on the layout is a three track mine is a two track. 🤔 Part 1 of this video is a 100% 5 star! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks Trainman. Yep and nice to see some different equipment. These were the first BNSF/MRL locomotives to every set a wheel on my layout. Kinda cool to look at some other stuff thats not my home roads.
Thanks for the comment Eric. The Alberta Railway Museum in Edmonton has a very similar auxiliary to the one in the video and yours. Very impressive piece of equipment when you stand next to it and look up. No problem with the copy/paste, I enjoy reading your related blogposts. Ben
Its a one of a kind paint scheme that BNSF did after the merger to test out what they should have as their own scheme, if you look closely you will notice that each side of the locomotive has a different paint scheme.
Haha good to know what rules we were breaking. To our credit, the helpers rear truck magically re-railed itself on the next curve. As for the crew, they will be talking to the typewriter on that one.
Bob Mayben Thanks for the comment Bob, I am glad you enjoyed the video. I really try to make them as entertaining and "watchable" as possible. I am always striving to improve my videos and feedback from guys like yourself helps me out. Ben
I've going to mention this for awhile now after watching your Video (very good by the way). That in Canada it is illegal to run a crane of any kind with the boom facing forward. This is do to a wreck on the Kingston Sub in the 70's.
At about the 2:23 mark, one train is hitting against a tree in the bottom right of the shot. This layout has made me rethink my design. I still drooled >.
Very well done! Due to some "life changes" (ahem) I had to abandon a fairly good-sized layout in progress, and move to a smaller location...where I haven't the room now. But, small shelf layouts are still possible. At 1:00....those switchstands...are they custom built, or commercially available?
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. There's always room to build something, good attitude. The switch stands are a fantastic laser cut kit made by Osborn models: www.osbornmodelkits.com/HO_scale_railroad.htm
Your crane should be turned so the boom is trailing before going on the main line for safety reasons former member of an auxiliary crew or wrecking crew.
This is truly amazing! I never knew how do you people play with this model trains and stuff?! Are there any rules, stories behind all of this? Where could i learn them? It's all confusing to me to understand but i so much love to watch this videos :)
Thanks Preka! There are no rules and the only limit is your imagination. Most model railroaders strive to mimic the real trains they have in there area or a railroad somewhere in the world that they are a fan of. UA-cam and the internet is a good start, just follow your interests, if something catches your eye like a locomotive try to find out what type it is and google or wikipedia search it. There is tons of information on every railroad on the planet. Good luck! Ben
its amazing...but my only peeve is u dont have flashing cross bucks at that beautiful intersection....and for that matter u dont even have words on the ones u have there now....u should really concider doing that sometime in the future then it would be even more awesome
Hey BA glad we had a chance to compare notes....i look forward to seein ur updated layout with flashers and other stuff soon, keep up the good work as ur layout is fantastic

Lovely stuff! Thanks for sharing all these great videos of your previous model railroad---I know you're rebuilding now, but do you have any videos where you think about switching to N scale?
As always..I LOVE the CN (black hood wet noodle theme) as well the Rail link, BNSF orange/black, and the scenery.. do you have a facebook page/group too?

Great video! I loved the variety, and the action was great! Can't wait to see more!
nice crawling. very smooth. great layout.
Thanks! I have the MRL because of the amount that BNSF and MRL work together in Montana.
Thanks Trainman. Yep and nice to see some different equipment. These were the first BNSF/MRL locomotives to every set a wheel on my layout. Kinda cool to look at some other stuff thats not my home roads.
Just wanna say I am so enjoying the clips of your layout!!! Getting some real inspiration for the MUCH smaller 2-rail layout I just started. :)
Thanks a lot man. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Nice work Ben!, I se the "Tardis" is living up to it;s name..LOL. Great opening scene at 20sec mate!

Nice, I enjoy seeing your rolling stock & locos.
Skip Hedgepath Thanks for the comment Skip, glad you enjoyed the video.
Very excellent modeling and camera work. Your camera movements were gradual, so we can enjoy the action.

Appreciate the insight! Someone else was telling me that they don't do it in the states either. We'll take our demerits and won't do it again!

Very nice layout! You did a great job with the camera work to make it look large than it was.

Thanks, I have been working on this layout for just over 2 years.
Very well done! Due to some "life changes" (ahem) I had to abandon a fairly good-sized layout in progress, and move to a smaller location...where I haven't the room now. But, small shelf layouts are still possible.

BArailsystem Thanks for that link to Osborne Model Kits. Some great stuff there, some items exactly what I've been looking for!
Love it
your setup looks great. Are all those CN locomotives real or just for show?
love this thanks😊
+Erik McCottrell No problem Erik
wonderful
Did you notice that the DPU at 2:00 was derailed on the rear truck?
Really nice.
Your crane should be turned so the boom is trailing before going on the main line for safety reasons former member of an auxiliary crew or wrecking crew.
Great video! At 2:03 the engine is derailed
:O
Yes...yes we did, and every other 50 million derailments that we had that day lol!
beautiful layout
Thanks!

Thanks, I may install flashers someday I have definitely considered it. The cross bucks look like that because they are Canadian…
Hey BA glad we had a chance to compare notes....i look forward to seein ur updated layout with flashers and other stuff soon, keep up the good work as ur layout is fantastic
Thanks! Yeah the train hit it once and then a crazy foamer cut it down and took it right out of there because it was blocking his shot. :P
Beautiful job. I love this layout. Is it open o the public?
Thanks very much. No, not really open to the public, it's in my basement :)
BArailsystem Lol then I guess it isn't open to the public now is it then? XD

Not sure, it wasn't mine.
Wow! Draper Taper Cabooses!

Boa tarde...qual é o controlador que vc está utilizando para operar todas essas locomotivas?
Eu uso um sistema DCC feito pela Digitrax.
www.digitrax.com/products/starter-sets/
big hooks travel in other direction to advoid derailments is they break loose.
2:03 The back bogey (A.K.A, Truck) derailed, then rerails it self, Lol
+Matthew Starks Just like in real life! :P
Lovely stuff! Thanks for sharing all these great videos of your previous model railroad---I know you're rebuilding now, but do you have any videos where you think about switching to N scale?
Thanks Tristan! No videos considering switching to N scale yet but sometimes I do envy the N scalers with the massive scenes they can pull off.
As always..I LOVE the CN (black hood wet noodle theme) as well the Rail link, BNSF orange/black, and the scenery.. do you have a facebook page/group too?
+brett624 Thanks, no just UA-cam for now.

Very impressive!!!

I got it at a train show a couple years ago. It's a Pointe St. Charles by Overland Models.

Yes
Hmm, I'm not sure I want to know that. :S
Do you have a overall picture of your layout?
