Personally, I found Lucas' character arc to be the most compelling out of the 4 boys. But yeah they killed it this episode!

@@myalondon6195 Before this season I'm pretty sure he's the only 1 of the 4 to actually fight and damage a monster. He cut the mind flayers tongue to save eleven and he also came through with the fireworks. I'm kind of tired with my boy not being acknowledged for stuff like this.
Although I disagree about his whole thing being about racism I can understand where you're coming from. Hopefully next season he'll fight monsters. Every age group on this show has its own "action star". For the adults it's Hopper, for the young adults it's Steve, and for the boys it's definitely Lucas
@@chuckskeeter i agree. not only did i think he gave the best performance of the 4 but he honestly had the most complete and satisfying arc to work with. we got to see him struggle with a pretty compelling internal conflict abt belonging/values/identity, and his approach to his relationship with max and how he supported her through everything was great.
dustin was good and useful as always but basically just had to watch someone he loved die without getting any proper resolution for that. will just had to suffer and be sidelined and self-sacrificial again, and he didn’t get any resolution or reward for that either, he never does (it seems like the writers just hate him atp). and lord i was shocked by how absolutely trash the writing for mike was this season.

I’m genuinely so upset that the writers have been terrible to Mike in s3/s4. He was the main character and lead the group in s1/s2. He was so fun and funny. And then the writers made him be this character that just isn’t fully present ever. Mike was my favorite character of the show and the Duffers really made him into one of the most hated characters now. Hopefully he’ll be better in season 5. HE LITERALLY JUMPED OFF A CLIFF FOR DUSTIN ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? WHERE IS THAT MIKE?????
This so much. I had so much hope that having him and El separate for the season would make him see that he's become her shadow, like he literally lives in function of her, and that he's been neglecting Will, his best friend, for a long time because of it. Without her, he even started leading a team again, even if it was to find her. And then freaking nothing. Just that over the top speech and Will having to prompt him to talk.

Eddie's death felt so pointless to me, he had a whole sacrificial moment that didn't really help. The goal was to distract the bats a little longer but he didn't need to do that and also died immediately so he didn't buy any time. His reasoning of not running anymore was so weird too, running would buy more time and he was already facing the battle by going to the upsidedown in the first place. It was so unnecessary
If the Duffer brothers knew how popular of a character Eddie would become then they would’ve never even considered killing him off in the way they did. They didn’t anticipate for him to be a character that people so widely adored and there’s many articles on the subject, especially revolving around the fact Joseph Quinn believed the Duffer Brothers made a mistake with casting him. They just wanted a quick, sad scene and they got that from Eddie. They killed him off because they had too many characters and so they dropped those that they believed wouldn’t be hugely missed.
They did Eddie so dirty, but I am glad he wasn't killed by those loser jocks or townspeople. He basically had to die or go on the run though because he would always be a murderer to the town even without any proof. He could have died in a cooler way though...
Although I understand why he was killed off, I had to pause at that scene and I thought the same as you. I was just looking at the screen like "...you're gonna die in less than 5 seconds and then the bats are gonna go right for Dustin. How is your sacrifice helping anyone sweetie"
They should have at least given him a good weapon so that he stands a fuckin chance
the thing about steve and nancy is that for nancy’s sake i really hope she doesn’t get back w him. she has this whole monologue in the first season about not wanting to be like her mom and marry the high school jock and and have a bunch of kids (something along that line). so for her to hear steve talk about wanting a bunch of lil harrington nuggets w her would be such a disservice to her character. i don’t necessarily think she should be w johnathon either tho. i still cannot believe he thinks that she would just give up her dreams to be w him at that junior college
Both relationships are bad lol! I was preferring Nancy with Jonathan over her with Steve because of the exact thing u mentioned. Then someone reminded me that Jonathan was literally being a pervert in season one with Nancy and taking pictures of her! Both options are bad for her. She also emotionally cheated on Jonathan and disregarded everything with Steve when she saw Jonathan at the end of season 4. So it’s just kinda bad for everyone involved no matter who she chooses and it’s all a mess

Both characters have developed so much, though. I honestly wouldn’t mind them getting together, as Jonathan and Nancy seem to be on thin ice.
@@GabesEdtiz I just wish that if they're insisting on them getting back together they'd have resolved it this season. Nancy and Steve's scenes just Dragged this season, and I am not excited for more of that. Same with her Jonathan stuff; they should have had Jonathan come clean about his college plans this season rather than dragging it out for the love triangle. I don't care which of them she ends up with (if either of them), but I just know that resolving those two relationships is going to take up So Much space next season, and I'm not looking forward to it.

Will giving Mike that emotional support while secretly crying because he can't be open himself about his true feelings is my villain origin story. He's always been someone who puts everyone else's needs before himself. But it always makes him unhappy. Will should get to tell Mike. He should get to be happy.
I have never felt more conflicted watching a character in this show than with this guy. He did bad. But even despite the bumps along the way, El still cried when she saw him bleeding out. Despite everything, they had a bond. A strange bond, but a bond nonetheless. And he let her go. I do think the relationship was a bit toxic. But it was also one of the first ones El ever had. So while she was sad to see him go, she also didn't forget all the bad he did. And I like the message of that. Even if you forgive someone a fraction, you don't have to forget the bad things they've done. And it's always within your right to walk away.
This finale had my emotions all over the place. Max, Eddie, the pain. The hype. The dread. Unmatched.
The show started off with Will. I'd appreciate him being the main focus of season 5. A confession to Mike, being able to spy on Vecna, some happiness, and a final showdown with him would be amazing. He gave Mike a heartfelt confession and lied by saying it was how El felt. He made a painting just for Mike but pretended El commissioned it. That huge speech spurred on by Will wasn't really about El. When Mike was giving that speech, he was talking about his love for an image Will gave him that he claimed was El, but was secretly about himself. Let Will be happy. He's suffered enough.
The Duffer brothers confirmed that Will is going to a larger role in season 5
I mean I'd love to see Will happy as well but it will never be with Mike. I mean unlike the other characters Finn has played Richie Tozier (Gay) and Boris in the Goldfinch (Bisexual) Mike Wheeler is straight and pretty much a El-osexual. He has no eyes for anyone besides her. I want Will to find a guy who appreciates all of him especially his artistic talents.

Tell Mike what? Mike is straighter than Hopper at this point. This entire plot should never have been written for gay baiting. I feel like they gave Robin Will's plot for this season because of how well received she was last season and "gay for Mike" was like a last minute story edit.
I kinda want for him what they did for Nico in the Percy Jackson spinoff. Have him come out to El early in the season, she keeps the secret and let's him lean on her while he gets over Mike, and then Mike doesn't get to find out until he's already over him. Maybe a small wink at him being interested in someone else that's more attainable.
Eddie’s death really hit me because i was really quiet and awkward in hs, literally hung out in a club that was basically dnd/book/game talk. Senior “Eddie’s” took me under their wings and made me feel not so alone. He especially reminded me of my best friend who passed away not long ago. It “being his year” had me feeling like I was saying goodbye to all the past Eddie’s in my life all over again. Yeah I’m still not okay😭😭😭
I really hope he comes back because he’s already a role model in that way but he has so much more potential
Aside from all the completly amazing parts of the commentary, I'm suprised more people don't mention the amazing arrangement of "Running Up That Hill" mixed with the 80's synth music in the main fight scene and the ending music when they saw the dark clouds form. Litening to the remixed verison of "Running Up That Hill" literally made me feel so much and made the scene 10x better and the ending music building up to show the clouds really just toed it all together. Basically the soundtrack was just amazing in V2

I can totally agree that the Russia plot line was so draw out. I honestly think it would've been better if they didn't start the plot line in the First episode. To leave a little suspense to Hopper being alive in Russia. Then they could've cut down some of the scenes of him and Enzo. They added a lot of Enzo scene to make him seem trustworthy but they still could have did it differently.
the fact that they really built up hopper and enzo's relationship and then they don't even show them saying goodbye.... 💀💀💀💀 literally wtf was that writing

did anyone feel like robin was completely different in season 4 to season 3? I think they were really pushing her like socially awkward, nuerodivergent coded personality, and like thats fine but it felt really out of character for her. She was so cool spoken and had witty comebacks in season 3 that she felt really bumbly in season 4

Yeah, she was different! I liked this new "version" just as much as I liked s03 version (I think I just really love Maya Hawke) and this change kinda could be justified as "when you truly get to now someone is when you see their true colors" type of thing with her
I think it was more subtle in S3, and Robin hid a lot of it behind a veneer of dunking on Steve for most of her screen time.
I felt it was like that because in s3 robin was probably a little bitter towards Steve for how the girl she liked at the time had a crush on steve
personally i think it's because she was still trying to act like someone else around steve in s3, like she was masking, and now that they're BEST friends and she's been open with him and knows she can trust him, she's not trying to hide herself. she's got similar traits in bith seasons, it just feels to me like she's purposefully restraining and hiding herself in s3

Hear me out: a trio friendship between Ell, Max and Will would be the best for all three of them. They're all outcasts and all feel misunderstood and they've all had some heavy trauma to deal with. I think they could make each other so so happy and their friendship would be so good for all of them

One of my biggest disappointments with this season is how little time El and Will have spent together, considering what good friends Millie and Noah are in real life, I don't get why the writers haven't given them many shared interactions

Tbh I have always had the same feelings trin has for billy. He was so abusive and caused so much trauma for everyone around him and when they tried to humanize him by looking back in his memories before his death didn’t really help. It’s how they did Bryce in 13 reasons Why, abusers don’t always need justification for us to sympathize with them on why they abuse people.
But sometimes abusers are the product of their environment and it’s not just as easy as being black and white because yes he was terrible to max but at the core there was good and in the end he saved her life so I think that deserves some justification.

Besides, Billy isn’t nearly as bad as the example brought up. 13RW was trying to make us feel sorry for Bryce Walker - a guy who ran a syndicate of serial rapists who lured underage girls into a shed, drugged them, sexually harassed and assaulted them, and took explicit pictures which they kept as trophies. Billy is a saint compared to Bryce, who’s honestly the closest thing to Lucifer in high school.
This season shattered me and impressed the hell out of me with the acting the special effects the fact that Joeseph Quinn (The actor who plays Eddie) learned to play Master of puppets by Metallica (except the solo) for this role the commitment in every aspect was amazing
I watched the aftershow interview with the Duffer bros and they mentioned that it's very important that Max is in a coma apparently, in Season 5 I guess we'll see why they did that to her! Plus they said Dustin's mourning Eddie is important for his journey in the next season :)
AND I totally agree with the racism thing, it's weird that they did it that way because some of Jason's main 'minions' are black? So I don't get the Sinclair siblings being targeted...
I think just like the writers struggle with how to deal with Will’s character and his sexuality, they also struggle with how to depict the Sinclair siblings which is disappointing as a viewer bc I just want to see these characters given the representation and plot lines that they deserve ❤️
I don't think Erica and Lucas being brutalised was *intended* to be about racial targeting (as far as the plot's concerned, I think it was intended to just be about Hellfire affiliation). But considering they're the only two characters this happens to, and this isn't even the first time Lucas has been through something like this, it's a pretty unfortunate choice for them to make Lucas and Erica the only characters present for those scenes.
@@robbiesmith8055 yeah it might not have been intentional, but it’s a HUGE oversight considering yeah Lucas was targeted by Billy before and that was clearly a race thing so they should have put more thought into it. The Sinclair actors fucking killed it this season though so I’m glad they got more screen time at least
For me its the han solo moment of season like how season 4 is meant to be the empire strikes back of stranger things and in empire strikes back han solo get encased in carbonite and I feel like max has a similar personality to han solo sarcastic, witty, quipy but also has a deeper soft side

As someone with an abusive sibling, that left bruises on my skin and had me to the brink of killing myself I can say that max was COMPLETELY justified in what she was thinking and I 100% agree with the thoughts she had on billy cause I felt that same way with my sibling. Even though my sister isn’t dead and is out of the picture I still feel so hurt and if something did happen to her I would be okay with it. I know that sounds wrong but when someone breaks you down to the point of you thinking about ending your own life to make it go away, I think my feelings are justified.

I'm honestly so happy they explained that she wasn't sad that he died, she was guilty that not only she wished him dead and he actually died, but his death actually didn't make things better and only made them worse for her. That makes way much more sense.

my often emotionally abusive dad had a near death experience and this has been constantly my back and forth mentally, the emotional turmoil of “he’s my dad and i still do love him” and “i also somewhat don’t care” and the guilt of the fact that you don’t really care. plus i still live with him so it’s HARD, so watching max go through that hit so close man
Totally agree with your take/rant on Billie. I fucking HATED that dude, and Max acknowledging how awful he really was in the attic scene was honestly cathartic. It felt real, like she had the survivor's guilt, but she also was conflicted because he abused her and was awful to be around. Sadie's acting really sold it. (can I just say... FUCK Billie. "He was abused" Yeah? So was Max, but did she turn out that way? No.)
Yeah I agree that he’s a terrible person obviously but I think people are missing the point of why his backstory was put into the show. it’s is very important to flesh out characters and let the viewer *understand* why he does the things he does (Especially if they’re a flawed character or an antagonist) It’s not about excusing or justifying his behaviour but explaining it. It’s a very important part of writing a complex character. Rather than having him be a horrible person just for the sake of it, we have to understand where it is coming from in order for him to be more than just a cardboard cutout of a character, but human.
@@waffles658 Exactly, we get a better understanding of his character and his motivations, and it makes him a much more compelling and interesting character to watch, rather than being just another generic one-dimensional 80s bully (and let's be fair, this show already has enough of those types of characters)
I don’t know how I feel because I spent this whole season stressed out that Eddie was going to get murdered by the angry mob in Hawkins (specifically the psychopathic basketball players) and then he went and got himself killed by a bunch of bats.
I also got the impression that Max was brain dead, and that’s why El couldn’t see her in her mind. Her heart beating, after all, doesnt mean she’s “alive”. But if they want Max to have the main character plot armor, they’ll bring her back for the next season, probably at the end.
since vecna “absorbs/consumes” his victims, i feel like max’s consciousness is with him and that’s how they’ll bring her back
In S3, El couldn't find Billy in his mind, but it turned out he was alive and later he came to his senses to make a sacrifice. If Max was brain dead, the doctors would've said something about it.

It's the day after he disappeared, but the point stands. It really makes his claim that going up to Will in kindergarten and asking to be his friend was 'the best thing he ever did' ring pretty hollow.

the scene between will and mike in the car absolutely broke me. I had only been casually watching and not paying close attention, so when Will cried afterwards I had to rewind because I had missed something. When I realized he was talking about himself the whole time I just lost it. Never felt so seen by a TV show before
but in all seriousness will better get a coming out scene. if not to mike, then officially to his family. i honestly don’t think him and mike will get together, and tbh that’s probably for the best. mike has been very dismissive of will ever since season two. in s2, if will even /flinched/ the wrong way, mike would rush to his side. but here we are in season four, where will is having a literal meltdown, /sobbing/, and mike doesn’t have anything to say. not even a single, “hey man, is something wrong?” just surprised he can’t even offer that. mike has been a disappointing character to be sure…s2 mike would hate s4 mike. but in conclusion, i hope he gets a major character arch in season five.

I also loved their friendship in the first 2 seasons but Mike isn’t responsible for Will or his feelings. El is his current girlfriend and Will is his childhood best friend. It’s completely normal for people to drift apart at that age. Mike is allowed to have his own priorities even if it hurts Will. BOTH of their feelings are valid. Mike isn’t obligated to stay best friends with Will forever. He also moved away and realistically it’s pretty difficult to maintain a close friendship when you live in different states especially in the 80s when there’s no cellphones or anything. Mike being more worried about El is justified because she doesn’t have the support system Will does. Sure the Byers took her in but Hopper was really the closest thing she ever had to a family and he was gone. At the end of the day Will has a loving mother, brother plus other members of the friend group who aren’t reaching out to him either. The other party members had other interests like dating and playing sports. They all had their separate coming of age arcs. So I think it’s really unfair to put all the responsibility on Mike to be Will’s support system. Besides Johnathan at the very end every other character is also too concerned with other things to notice Will’s feelings. I admit the writers definitely dropped the ball with Mikes character this season and didn’t give him as interesting an arc as the other characters (which is super unfortunate because I always loved him as protagonist on this show) but people are being overly harsh on Mike because Will has an unrequited crush on him.
Mike does not owe himself to be with Will. Idk why many fans have this narrative that in order for Will to be happy, he NEEDS Mike. Mike has been in a relationship for four years. Will can have a happy ending without him

Caleb, Sadie, Gaten, Noah and Millie did their thing this season. Millie was crying in almost all scenes she was in( that hard af probably not for her but mentally still). Noah really always had very emotional character arcs every season but the last one and I’m really glad to see Caleb get more story as Lucas because it was lacking the other seasons and Sadie actually conveyed trauma which all the characters should be showing in shows like this really well. Also we need more scenes with Lucas sister Erica because Priah’s soo good in that role.

I’m not gonna lie I sobbed so much for max and lucas’ reaction. I think I cried just as much as a did when my cat died.
i know some people might disagree because they wanted a main character to die, but i'm glad they didn't kill max. i don't think killing her off would've sent a good message AT ALL considering she's a kid who's been dealing with s*icidal ideation (+ vecna in vol 1 kind of represented max's ptsd, survivor's guilt and depression) and was just starting to get better at the end of episode 4 and realize there are people who care about her and that she has things to live for.
episode 4 ended with such a powerful message. killing her off would send the message that no matter what, no matter how hard you fight, you could never overcome your depression. and that's just a horrible message.
(+the duffers said max being in a coma instead of dying is extremely important for the plot of season 5 and not just them "cheating death")
also i know some people find el "reviving" max unrealistic but if you think about it, it kinda is. much more than hopper's survival at least. el used her telekinesis powers to basically perform intense cpr on max pumping her heart until it started beating again on its own. and we already know she can do these kind of stuff. remember when she made the bully from s1 pee in his pants? or when she got the chip out of 001? el doesn't "suddenly have healing powers", she just restarted max's heart like a defibrillator does lol. that's why max is still injured and in a coma, she didn't "heal" her, made her heart beat again.

The sword made sense. In vol 1 when the guards had the prisoners face the demogorgon, they had a small case of weapons because it was entertaining. One of the prisoners must’ve grabbed the sword and dropped it when he died

I think this comes from how El suppressed the traumatic memories. Like she didn’t remember thing with 001 or the other kids and needed to “relive” it to remember. Once everything happened with 001 (years before she escaped) she was the only kid and was locked up in her room except for when papa needed her. Also a lot of the words like she didn’t know were words like friend, promise, compromise which I doubt were used much by papa lol.
The Numbers, as I call them, weren't taught basics. Tbh, the more simple they are the easier to control. I mean most if not all of these kids were taken away from their parents.

The older kids are perfectly mimicking the behaviour of regular teenage bullies, but where the hell did they pick any of this up? I really can't tell if it was poor acting choices, poor writing, or poor direction, but these kids should not have been acting this way given the way they were raised.

I agree that Lucas and Erika were reduced to being racially assaulted this season, and I wish we could have seen more of what Lucas went through, where he realized that status isn't as important as being with your friends and with people who care about you. It should've been more integrated into the story. They could've had more Erica scenes were she had iconic comeback lines like in the beginning of the season or last season and coming up with smart ideas to help out would be better because sometimes it feels like they're just standing there.

I COMPLETELY AGREE with you on the Vecna critiques. I felt like he did look very “suit-like” and he kinda reminded me of Jim Carrey’s “The Grinch”.

I understand if people don’t like the idea of Max being revived from a risk vantage point, there does need to be more risks/stakes amongst the main characters because the plot armor around the core members is insane. My problem arises when people start to criticize El’s ability to restart Max’s heart and make it seem like a plot hole. It is plausible due to at least one instance back in Season 1. When El embarrassed the bully, she “started” 😂 his bladder to make him pee himself, so now her being older and apparently stronger now that she got her powers back, it makes sense that she would be able to “start” Max’s heart but not necessarily bring her fully back to life.

As explained by 001, El can become more powerful when she uses her emotions whether it be anger, sadness, or love (in this case all 3) She had never meet Eddie or Chrissy so she has no emotional connection to derive her strength from. And I said “not fully back to life” because yes she is in a coma, and technically alive w/ the major assistance of machines, but like we saw when El went inside her head there was nothing there. Essentially Vecna took her soul or something like that and that’s why I don’t consider her fully back to life.

Was able to bring her back physically but I’m pretty sure in order to bring her back mentally they’ll need to kill Vecna. Max however is in a interesting position. Since she’s still technically alive physically and recovering in the hospital she may have some level of consciousness in vecnas mind or wherever it is that he stores is victims. If she’s able to roam his mind she could learn more about him and his weaknesses and help destroy him using his own game. It also creates a prefect chance to learn more about Maxs backstory and her life before coming to Hawkins.
I think the biggest problem with v2 is the fact most characters regress, not develop. Mike says in v1 that he still wants to be best friends with Will, then confesses (IN FRONT OF WILL) that the day his life started was the day Wills went to hell by being taken to the upside down. Almost all of Nancy’s dialogue revolves around a love triangle that she’s been stuck in since s1. Johnathan still lies to Nancy by the end. Will is still hiding who he is (we were teased for a coming out scene SO HARD), El is now almost codependent on Mike. Max and Lucas, Hopper’s group, and Eddie are imo the only ones that grow this season
will coming out wouldn't make sense right now...bc even he doesn't accept himself...jonathan accepted him before he did that himself....so i really feel that it's good writing on wills character...it makes him more complex and relatable

I really disliked Eddie in the first episode he felt cringe to me and way too theatrical. However, I’ve come to enjoy the writers adding that campiness to him because it’s very reminiscent of iconic 80s films. I was rooting for him in these last episodes but his motivation was so weird. The bats ended up dying around him anyway and it felt like his death was for nothing. He did it to buy time and be the hero but if the bats were gonna die in a few moments then it’s not like they would’ve actually ended up hurting the Steve/Nancy/Robin gang. Why have him die that way instead of having him die because of something that was REALLY detrimental and had more consequences had he not stepped in to be the hero?
I’m so relieved by your comment because the amount of people that were raving about Eddie in part 1 that aren’t now confused about his death is crazy LOL. It felt like literally no one grieved him. No one but Dustin and the uncle even reminisced about him. And the fact that he died while the whole town still thought he was a cult member and murderer is so unsatisfying. He connected with the Hellfire Club and Older teen group but only two people were shown grieving BRIEFLY over his passing? 😭 So many things wrong with the way he went and how everyone reacted to it!
there's a theory i really like that revolves around dnd lore and i stg if the duffer brothers don't follow it i'm gonna riot
basically, there's a character that i think eddie references during the dnd game, and that character is a vampire that helps vecna but then betrays him in the end. idk all the details but those are the basics. i think it works really well and ties in with some little hints dropped here and there. like all the bat imagery around eddie's character, and it would be really cool for them to see one of their friends come back to life but fighting against them.... it would be cool if that happened with max somehow too. im tired of them killing characters just to immediately bring them back to life as much as the next person, but i think it could be a promising plot line. however, the writers have been known to fail miserably in some cases sooooo 🤷🏻♀️
The problem is the Duffers completely underestimating what they had on their hands with Joseph Quinn until it was too late. He blew their expectations completely out of the water, and if they'd known how much charisma he'd have as Eddie and how much fans would love him, they probably wouldn't have written him out of the show. But if Eddie doesn't die, you have a season with sky-high stakes where every single main character makes it out fine (minus Max's coma). So Eddie had to die, but by the time they got there, the Duffers kinda wished they could keep him.
They've even said they regretted killing off Chrissy so early, because her insane chemistry with Eddie in that one scene was also completely unexpected. But by that point there was really nothing they could do to extend her presence in the show, so that dynamic was killed immediately.
Basically what I'm saying is they cast Eddie way too well for their own good, and they accidentally made their show worse for it.
Killing Steve would lead me to stop watching the show but killing Eddie was a bad idea too imo. They are both great characters that didn't need to die.
I can sympathize with Billy definitely not for his sexiness, but the fact that all his anger and violence, were a projection of his abusive father. The whole point about his character is to showcase how much of an influence our family can have on us. And when Max told him to stay away at the end of season 2, he actually listened. But the Mind Flayer came shortly afterwards… So I always believe that the innocent boy on the California beach is still inside of Billy, that’s why he was the only victim who was able to resist Mind Flayer’s control.
I don't think they should have killed him. He could have continued being a fun antagonist to Steve and maybe every once in awhile helped out. I love the idea of him beating up Jason lol just cuz. And Dacre was such a fun actor. Maybe over time he would redeem himself and become the brother Max always wanted but i also enjoyed him as a threat. Instead of the Scoops Ahoy plot, I wish Steve stayed at the pool as a life guard and have a whole season of Billy tormenting him lol

Max didn’t die. She’s in the hospital. She did break all of her limbs and may possibly be blind, but she is still alive.

I agree they definitely show do some kind of pop up showings in old local theaters or drive-in theaters! Also, they included that storyline with crazy Jason bc in that year in real life people did actually blame D&D for murders, called it a Satanic cult that did Ritualistic sacrifices,etc. Used repressed memory techniques (which is proven to be leading and cause false statements. And isn’t recognized as a true therapeutic technique) on children to lie in court saying that all of this was real and that they were hurt*. Basically mostly why now people associate witches, D&D, video games, MJ and Satanists, as scary things we should stay away from. Because the media created such a panic about it. Especially quite hard late 1980s-1990s.

I do hate how many Byler shippers think that Will’s happy ending HAS to be with Mike. The boy who has been in a relationship has to break up with her to go with the boy who has a crush on him. It doesn’t make sense or seem logical to me. Yes I 100% agree Mike should be supportive of Will and encourage him coming out but that doesn’t mean Mike is obligated to share the same feelings. And I do see people saying Mike has “internalized homophobia” and is secretly in love with Will and I just don’t see that at all. I see Mike wanting to be there for Will as a best friend and show platonic caring and love for because that definitely can exist. The “I love you monologue” was just horrible it’s the fact that he had to be coached to even say anything had Will not “given” him the courage to say what he wanted to say if that’s even really what he wanted to say to begin with so it felt very half assed and again brings his feelings for her into question, the place ment of it was also bad like if Mike went this long with out saying it then just make him commit to it because the I love you monologue while you have max in the corner fighting for her life isn’t the sweet confession a lot of the fandom is making it out to be.

There’s actually tons of fantastic foreign zombie/monster/apocalypse type movies and it’s always interesting to see how they have to deal with the situation-seeing as they don’t have easy access to weapons that can mow down hordes of zombies or blow a monster’s head off. Train to Busan is a great South Korean zombie movie and it’s like World War Z but on a train and it’s terrifying. 21 Days Later is a UK zombie movie where the zombies are fast and powerful, Night Eats The World is a French zombie movie where a guy wakes up after a party to realize he’s the last one alive, etc. Doesn’t have to be zombie movies but I’m just saying there’s a lot of great foreign films out there are slept on here in the US

I think that Max's real happy place was when she was a little girl and I think that's where she's hiding. Kinda like inception and Venca couldn't reach her there
so....Max was FREED by Elle and the gang. The dissolve and her return to her body meant Vecna released her. Then she cried out but her body was crippled and her heart stopped. Meanwhile, Vecna was smoldering! It's some other reason that Elle can't immediately find her.
I applauded when Steve did that flip, it was awesome!!
S5 should happen in a theatre!! I would love that!!
One correction tho: Shaun of the Dead one of THE best zombie films is in London.
I've been begging for stranger things to release in theaters. It honestly makes me sad to see some of the most epic stuff out rn now released in theaters. Maybe they Netflix will figure something out with select theaters, with the things that deserve the big screen.

i was literally hyperventilating and sobbing for 10 hours (not even exaggerating) after the last ep i genuinely had no tears left after that and couldn’t cry for like a week.
the soundtrack this season is AMAZING. especially master of puppets and running up that hill.. like woah!? those two!? in one show!? BIG WOAH!?

I love watching your videos! Its so fun to be able to hear other peoples opinions on stuff! And for the most part i totally agree with you:) also i notice way more details in these videos! Everytime you post, its literally the highlight of my day
I work at a movie theater and I actually did run a screening for the finale! It was incredible watching it on the big screen especially with how cinematic the finale was
I personally really enjoyed S4. Unlike the previous two outings, Stranger Things 4 felt like it had a lot more to add to the overall narrative. Yes, I do agree that the season struggled with a few too many subplots and that not all of them being equal in terms of quality, but I feel as if the Duffer’s made up for it by the end by converging the storylines in an interesting - albeit just a bit contrived - way. I also agree that more people should have died, but don’t worry, this is only just a tease for what’s to come in the final season. I’m certain they won’t end the show without at least some of the main cast biting the dust. It’s still an overall great season of Stranger Things; the acting is insanely good, the cinematography is gorgeous, the VFX are better than ever, and the story finally feels like it has an endgame by setting up interesting ideas and plot threads going into the final season. Stranger Things 4 also introduced (mostly) likeable new characters, with Eddie being the highlight of the season for me (RIP). And Vecna…such a formidable and interesting antagonist. I have to say, I don’t agree with all of the people saying he’s “generic” and his backstory is “lame”; he has more layers to him that can’t be seen on the surface, and it feels so refreshing to have a humanoid antagonist. Jamie Campbell Bower did an amazing job, not to mention the makeup and prosthetics did wonders for his design as well as his looming presence throughout the season. The characters were also taken very interesting routes. My favorites by far were Max, Eddie, El and Lucas.
El had a compelling journey getting her powers back, though I do acknowledge that not explaining how Brenner survived S1 wasn’t exactly the best cup of tea. However, he served his purpose and it paid off if you ask me. El herself grew a lot this season, and I can’t wait to see the direction she’ll go in S5. Millie killed it.
Max’s arc about learning to overcome guilt and sorrow by running up that hill towards love was great. At first I didn’t like her character that much, but thanks to her arc and Sadie’s great performance this season, Max is now one of my favorites.
Lucas’ arc about trying to fit in with the popular crowd was honestly relatable; people want to try out different hobbies and activities as they grow and mature, and Lucas joining the basketball team was his way of trying to break free of whatever preconceived shell he thought he was in. After learning just how cruel Jason and his goons could be, though, Lucas chose to stick by his friends, his sister, and his ex-girlfriend despite being treated horribly by all of them. He chose to stay true to himself and to the people who have stuck by him through thick and thin. I pray to god he gets more screen time next season, because Caleb deserves it. His performance in the finale was goddamn perfect.
Eddie Munson…what can I say? Despite his death being predictable it still packed one hell of a punch. His arc about learning to stand his ground and fight the good fight was great to see, and Joseph Quinn was a wonderful addition to the cast. His character will be remembered in all of our hearts. Hopefully he’s rocking out to Master of the Puppets with Chrissy in the afterlife. 🙏🏽💯🎸⚡️❤️
Overall, S4 was definitely a step up from the last two seasons for me, and I can’t wait to see how this epic 80s adventure comes to an end in 2024.

I agree about Eddies death. I was mostly upset for how eddies death affected dustin. It was clear he was going to die early on and honestly we didnt need another character in the group im not sure how he would even contribute if he was kept alive for season 5.
I think dustin and eddie were superb in that scene n I hope the duffer brothers bring eddie back as kas the vampire 👍
I feel like it would be a hassle to keep Eddie alive for season 5 considering the whole town was already convinced that Eddie was doing all the killings
