You are adorable. Thank you for being so straightforward and talking about all the things people think about, but kind of push it aside. You are a blessing. Prayers are out there for you. So good you know what you want and are making sure you experience that. Thank you for all your videos, and for sharing in a kind and generous way.
One thing we didn't know when we were traveling that we learned while traveling is the truck stops. They are 24 hours. They have showers and food, they are lit
I really want to transition into a mobile life until I can build and plant a tiny house. It's just so intimidating...congratulations on making it happen for yourself.
I have a YMCA membership -- $48 a month. Thousands of locations nationwide. Most have reciprocity or allow 10-15 free visits per year. Highly recommend it. Pilot truck stops are clean, and $13 a shower. The Petros are the dirtiest I find; and the TA truck stops sometimes are like 5 star hotels (the showers) are.
for the dampness I get those hanging damp ride bags at Wal-Mart. can't believe how much water they collect. I do have a class c but just from breathing at nite a lot of moisture. I highly recommend them them...
NATE, FOR CONDENSATION GO TO THE PETCO STORE AND GET A BAG OF KITTY LITER. 100% SILICA. FILL 2 OLD SOCKS AND PUT ONE UNDER EACH FRONT SEAT. PROBLEM SOLVED.
Very good idea on the mixing bowl I never would have thought about that. So if I do another van build and can't find a sink for cheap I can go that route.
What about having open containers of desiccant to absorb moisture at night? They now make kitty litter which is pure desiccant crystals. Fill a couple of plastic jars and it should help.
I have PLFT planet fitness shower key to doing a good shower is the 12x12 type restaurant style towel with a head band. WTF yes I cut a hole in the 12x12 just large enough to fit the sweatband through this allows me to be able to dry every inch of body easily. I use this same towel to clean with when done in the shower I wring out the towel use it to dry just have to wring it out about 3 times for drying. I can walk into the shower with my gear in a very small bag go in there shave and shower then exit fresh as a flower. Then there are half showers this is simply where I take what I have on hand and get clean usually is just as simple as using scentless wipes to wipe off anything that is on the skin to make sleeping better. Lets say every 3 days I have one and a half showers.
Instead of those wipes you can use paper towels and a spray bottle filled with 50% distilled vinegar and 50% water. It is good for cleaning dishes (cuts grease even) and various surfaces. It also works great on windows (in a house... guessing car windows also). It will kill various germs/bacteria and mold you will probably run across. There are some bacteria it doesn't work on... but I'm not sure if those wipes work on those same bacteria anyway. I don't know much about the wipes you are using though. Btw, you don't have to rinse it off. It simply evaporates and the vinegar smell is gone within minutes.
thank you for your helpful and informative video. I saw another person's video who said the YMCA allows a visitor to take a hot shower. I don't remember if it costs anything, it may not and you have to show your ID and complete a brief form but I believe that's a resource for taking a hot shower. best regards.
I grew up on the east coast, I don't know how you can surf those baby waves on such a tiny board...lol.. but I know I had to at least rinse off the salt daily, regardless of if I was in the atlantic or the bay... you can get a 12v vacuum at many auto parts places and truck stops..sure beats dropping quarters!
Thanks, another great video. I'm slowly "stealing" your fold-able bed/lounge chair idea. :) I'm 6'5" 255 lbs and have a mini van. It seems to be the most efficient use of space. I don't know if you've checked out the Aussie's "Because I Van" videos yet but he has some very good ideas as well. I used to surf "long boards", 12' 6" back in the 60's. I don't know how you young guys and girls can even paddle out let alone surf back on those "mini" boards. Hanging ten used to be a big deal. I'm wondering if that's even possible these days.
man i've always wanted to go around and travel and i was always torn between using a van or an element and i'm glad i found your channel! its good to get great perspective and ideas from and element user! thank you for the great videos, content and information. definitely subscribed. i'm from louisiana, how did you like nola while there?
You answered my question. I'm sorta new - and I did not know you were a surfer. I wondered about your sorta odd tan line - Now I know. . . . . lol I have been enjoying your adventures now for about a week. I envy you. Wish I had done something like this when I was younger. Only negative I see is: As long as you are single - everything is gr8. If you wanna meet someone though . .and get serious . . I would imagine that your appeal factor is kinda narrow cause of your chosen lifestyle. I'm sure this is something you've fit into your plans. And you probably run into others in your similar situation. A whole sub community of sorts
My vehicle is running great, I take care of her 100 percent, but I am selling her in April this year to my daughter and her partner, I brought a 1994 Dodge Ram van 280 v8, I am going to be a van dweller in April. Rent free. I am excited. Also I, putting in a solar system, I already ha a 9.9 cu ft frig. See you on the road, be careful out there.
Thanks for you down to earth living in van life...your audio seems a bit wind noise on and off even in your van...might be a rode mic me with wind sock on can solve that $60. Thanks.
I'm amazed at how many subscribers you have for having only done this for a short period of time. What's your secret? I could use some pointers for my channel.
Hey! Thanks for these videos:) I got so excited when I saw you travel with your guitar. How does it hold up in hot weather? Do you do anything special for it to protect it from heat and humidity? I'm worried about bringing mine but I can't part with it.
Hey! No I don't really do much to protect it from heat/ humidity. I just try not to let it get too hot in the Element. It seems to have held up OK so far. It does go out of tune a bit more frequently, but I suppose that's to be expected with the drastic temperature changes.
I have a question for you Nate I see guys surfing and have there nose painted white what's the reason for that is that for sun burn or what where can I buy that at
I rarely keep trash in the Element for long. I'll throw it out as soon as I find a place to do so. The grey water doesn't smell, it's in a nearly air tight container.

Albie Shevis also a good idea. See my suggestion above.
What is a damp ride bag? Is it a damp rice bag?
Brand is actually Damprid I think. It is a bag you hang and it will pull water out of the air. I've never tried one.
Planet Fitness is the way to go !!! great video :) keep them coming !!!
Yes!

lol I think my East Coast and Gulf Coast surfing background helps with the small waves, I'm definitely used to them.

Thank you! New Orleans is one of my favorite cities in the world. I lived there for 7 years previously though so I'm quite biased haha

Psychic Sojourns the secret is posting something interesting
Where do you dump your dirty water from the sink? Do you just pour it out on the road or do you take it into a bathroom?
Bathrooms or drains. I would never just pour it on the street.
dood I had an ant infestation last summer - good lord! what a disaster that was! keep everything bagged in ziplocs nice and tight.
