      Instead of long videos then shorter format but more frequently posting! That would be ideal 👍

      Noted! We'll try, but we both have a bunch of stuff on our plate at the moment, so I'm not sure how likely it is that we can manage to be more frequent.

    Guys, you should upload more covers in order to get more views, your vocals are fire and that might show people that you actually know what you are talking about (I know you have individual channels), but making covers of popular songs will help you guys a lot. Specially since you deserve the views , as you are 2, of the few vocal teachers/coaches on UA-cam that teach an actual useful technique based on science and proven facts.

      Thank you very much! :)
      As you said we do have some covers (and even original music) online, but not on this channel. I totally get your point though. Whenever I stumble upon a vocal coaching channel, I want to hear that coach sing, so we'll definitely think about it!

    Love it! I would love to see you two discuss what helped to expand the falsetto range when you or your students felt some kind of a ceiling in the fifth octave (E5 or G5 or whatever). What can cause the ceiling and how to get rid of it.

    Sorry for another question, so with CVT, do you have to plan each song you want to sing, so you know what modes you need to be in, or do you get so good at it, that you can sing any song and naturally go into the correct mode automatically? Do you get like muscle memory on the modes?

    • @RockVoxYT
      @RockVoxYT  2 роки тому +5

      Planning is a good learning strategy! However, when you get more skilled, you don't need to think about it and the muscle memory takes over. It's still useful to consciously plan out challenging parts of course!

    I'm confused by CVT. So with the modes, does it mean you can only do them sounds in that particular mode? Does it effectively mean that to sing a song from start to end, you may end up switching in and out of all the modes? As an example, overdrive you say the EH and OH sound, is that the complete limits of Overdrive and you can't sing anything other than phrases with a EH and Oh?

    • @RockVoxYT
      @RockVoxYT  2 роки тому

      Hi D Banksey! Great question! Have you watched our video "Getting started with CVT"? We go through some mode basics there. Most singers will definitely change modes through the course of a song and often even within one phrase. Yes, Overdrive is limited to EH and OH, but the character & volume level combines nicely with Edge, so singers will often use those two modes when singing loud and powerful and switch between them depending on the vowel.

    Lovely video fellas. I can easily maintain a high note like a B4 or C5 in a 'mixed' voice (edge mostly) but when I start to add words, it seems like some of the consonants can have the effect of destabilizing the voice and I end up in falsetto. Any tips on how to remedy this?

    • @RockVoxYT
      @RockVoxYT  2 роки тому +3

      Thank you!
      Most often the issue is not getting back to the correct vowels for the mode. The consonants disrupt the setting and then we need to be very skilled at getting back to the right vocal tract shape for the mode right after the consonant!
      Have you tried the "21 steps" that I briefly summarize in the Getting Started With CVT video? I feel that that's a really good and gradual route to go from 1 vowel exercises to applying those techniques to a piece of music.

    P.S. I hope you can expand your CVT approach by looking at different live performances here in YT. More power to the both of you! 🤗
