This is an interesting recipe. I always use either a can of “Pet” milk or “Carnation “. I open the can and pour it into a stainless steel or glass mixing bowl, set it in the freezer until ice crystals form on the sides of the bowl. I put the beaters to my mixer in the freezer also. Then, I remove the bowl and beaters from the freezer; attach the beaters to the mixer , and whip it till soft peaks form. Next, I add an opened pack of Kool-aide ( my fav is cherry) . Also, I add 1 cup of sugar a little at a time during the mixer process ; Next, I put it into a storage container and place it into the freezer. ( This is the best homemade ice cream I have made.)
@@Funfoods I would guess that adding the sweetened condensed milk added sweetness, but not everyone seemed to notice this. That stuff is pretty sweet! Did it balance with the tartness of the Kool-Aid mix? (Though adding sugar might be good too like others mentioned, but I wouldn't know for sure since I didn't make this yet.) Sounds good! What a creative idea to make ice cream this way!
I'm thinking of using the clear "mystery flavor" Kool-Aid and then passing it off as vanilla *evil laughter*. Seriously though - this looks awesome! Always admired your food combinations on this channel.
So none of you heard when he said mmmmmmm you can really smell the koolaid niggas it's going to smell. Like tooth paste on cookies nigga you can smell the tooth paste
I know that this is pretty good ice cream. My sweet friend had came across a cook book with all the things you can do with kool-aid. This was there. The ice cream reciepe. Scored high with daughter & grand kids.
That’s a lot of Kool-Aid for such a small amount of cream...lol...more like sour ice cream...but fun for the kids!!! Thanks for sharing your love of food and recipes!!!
I made it...its DEFINITELY BITTER/SOUR, either melt then cool and add sugar to the cream or use less powered mix, its weird cause its creamy like ice cream but not exactly ice cream
Bitter/sour even with the sweetened condensed milk? I find that stuff to be overpowering sweet so I'm surprised it's not sweet enough. I think use less of the pack of KoolAid.
I'm trying this recipe again. The first batch did not fully harden. I also just did a home brewed coffee porter batch and it tastes pretty good. It would be a perfect Saint Patrick's day dessert.
Good morning I just found this video going to try this, I just have one question if u don't mind. Seeing as you made this already, to make one big flavor, meaning only orange how many packets go in? And do you think adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract would help or hurt? Thank you
Looks interesting. I love the colors Just wondering if it sours? Because a couple of people in the comments are saying it's sour. That's why I was wondering that
Great recipe James! Just a quick side note for people that can’t have milk or are vegan that you can do the same with coconut cream you get from a can of coconut milk and some vegan condensed milk by using 1 cup of almond milk to one cup of sugar and vanilla and stir until it gets thickened then cool then add to coconut cream from a couple of cans of coconut milk then add the koolaide mix! That’s it! Freeze as usual and you’re done!
I would add little at a time and taste it then add or not add accordingly. One packet of Kool Aid calls for 2 quarts of water and 1cup of sugar so.......
Have you ever made unsweetened condensed milk using a sugar substitute? I'm diabetic and miss having ice cream. I have made the base before (your way) but using cocoa to make chocolate ice cream and maple syrup for another (so yum).
I'd love to be able to make things with Cool-Aid but Cool-Aid is not available, in those flavour packets, in Canada, any more. I love Cool-Aid. Those packets where great. You could decide which sweetener to use and how much. I liked to use half a cup of Splenda.
I tried this recipe using just one flavor would you recommend more than one Kool-Aid pack if you’re making one large serving? Other than that it came out as a great success.
Thank you for sharing your recipe for ice cream. So simple to make. Don't have to have a machine. And all the colors were beautiful. Scooped up into your dish. I'm going to get all. The ingredients and make it. Should name it unicorn ice cream. Are rainbow ice cream. Have a super great day.
I'm going to try this recipe using condensed milk and sour cream instead of heavy cream and sugar . I also intend to try it using sour cream and agave syrup in place of sugar and cream and see how that turns out . Wish me luck !
Sometime I should that kind of mixer that you have. Mine isn’t working well. It splattered stuff all over the counter 🙈🤷🏻♀️ and it’s was a cheap mixer. But I like this idea 👍🏻 Maybe make certain tea flavoured or coffee flavoured ice cream. I the colours and flavours you choose. 😊
I dont think i would like the kool-aid, but couldnt u put choc in it or mix some peanut butter or cookie dough or any other ingredients and make some other flavors?

No sugar? Or just from the sweetened milk
@@khemus4 This is not really ice cream, it is frozen whip cream , normal ice cream is more dense.
Owen Chase science channel at lease it has taste
Is it possible to use Jell-O mix instead of kool aid? Or would you need different ingredients so it didn't end up too sweet?
FunFoods I follow you on tik tok

Annie Fannie You’re welcome.
My girls would love this, I would put all the colors layered in one container like a rainbow. 🌈💖
Nice
How about mixing the Kool aid mix with the sugar in a packet
Sure

Sounds like a perfect harmless prank for April Fools Day, LOL.

You played that off well, because I know how sour that scoop was.
😂😂😂 facts
Wdym (what do you mean like)
I was thinking the same thing lmao
He definitely did he not one time said this is delicious lmaoooooo nor did he went for another scoop lmao
Dont drink or eat the kool aid
Next time only a lil bit of Kool Aid powder will do ya!

Yum! I love that recipe, because you can make just about any flavor ice cream you want.
Exactly. Thanks Patrick
It looks so pretty, I might have to try this, I imagine it would taste like a more flavorful sherbet
Yes
I do believe you need more sugar for that mix, kool aid tends to be sour.
Yes but condensed milk tends to be very very sweet
@@KCCAT5 ~ Yes. I found that out after making the Kool-Aid pie. The flavor and sweetness was a bit overpowering...
When I make this I will not use the entire package of koolaid so it won’t be too sour..
You're probably right, especially since it's one packet to 1/4 of the mixture.

He Drinks Water and says: “WOW that has a lot of flavour in it”!
When he tasted it....
His facial expression looks bad...
I think it taste bad.. Haha
It's because it's sour, have you even tried kool aid on its own? That's why people make it with an ocean of water
They should have that at ice cream shops and in stores. That would be neat

Great idea for the vegans and the lactose intolerant, (and for those of us who don't want to have much dairy in our diet!)
Happy Father's Day and great video! :)

Is there enough sugar in the sweetened condensed milk to sweeten the kool-aid enough for ice cream?
I would add little at a time and taste it then add or not add accordingly. One packet of Kool Aid calls for 2 quarts of water and 1cup of sugar so.......
I recommend adding a bit more sugar or a little less Koolaid
This recipe looked very easy and so good we are going to make this this weekend or so looked amazingly good
Never seen something so delicious and simple great work hope u get 100k
Thank you
Don't forget to dry the ice cream scoop after rinsing, putting a wet scooper back in can cause freezer burn as well.
Very true

can we whip the cream and kool-aid together to avoid collapse of cream or will it cause cream to break?

Darlene B. Probably it probably isn't available because they got sued by Kool-Aid
Would this work for push pops?? If not what could i do differently???

@@Funfoods You're Welcome♡♡♡♡
1 pack makes 2 quarts of drink. You should end up with 2 quarts of this "ice cream".
Tammy Mathis you liked your own comment didn’t you? Lol 😂
Honey think about it you end up with a quart bc you use a quart of water 🚿
You will have more than a qt due to all the other ingredients. And from the comments, this needs more than what is shown
