Remarkable warranty replacement arrived yesterday and appears to have no issues with software version 2.10.1.332. Glad company made things right. Step in the right direction. FYI Cheers!
Hey Chris. Thanks for your analysis. To answer your question…re: writing on the surface. I saw NO issues with the writing, drawing, etc. The swiping across the screen quit entirely. Swipe up was ok. Swiping down to either close the document, or to use the ‘document drawer’ was maybe a 25% success rate. Baffling what was happening. Thanks for drawing (no pun intended) attention to the matter.
No problem, I think the more we talk about it the closer we might get to an answer. The screen is acting as both finger touch and marker response which I believe are two different functions and uses different physics (capacitive vs EMR respectively) then layer on-top potential software bugs = Baffling. What’s clear is that these issues are not isolated, strength in numbers. I think reMarkable have great vision, I've got a product that works and I want you all to have that experience too.
Thank you for making this video! I'm currently experiencing those exact issues too after having it for a bit over a month. It sucks since it was great before but the bugs started up about 2 weeks ago. Not sure if I should try to return for a replacement or wait for the next software update. Cheers!
I received it on August 17th. Thankfully, it's working perfectly again now after having updated to beta version 2.10.1.332 around 12 hours ago!! I saw somewhere on Reddit that a person had received a message from ReMarkable saying that this beta version WAS supposed to fix most known issues so I decided to do it and got lucky lol. A few people did post that they continued to have issues though. For now, I'm just glad to have avoided going through any replacement process. I'm curious as to why they're replacing so many if a software update could potentially solve issues for most.
@@SupraTrades00 really pleased the beta update worked . And this where reMarkable have a problem, it works on some rm2s and not others. All one can do is speculate and at this point in time I’d like to think that there is a hardware issue that will explain what is happening however the ghosting for me implies a software issue. There are two questions that I’m asking myself. 1) Are bugs being introduced into latest updates I.e. some things being fixed and new ones introduced. 2) and is the actual update process REALLY successful, I.e. it works on yours and yet has failed on others? The latter is a scary proposition.
Yes 🙌, I noticed that too I will check. I’ve recently updated to a new version of a video editing software and audio layout has changed - teething troubles, the next vid will be 👌
Hi Maverick. I am satisfied with the reMarkable 2 for my purposes. But when I go to the main menu. Then another file is opened spontaneously. If I go back to the main menu, it happens again. Or if I want to see an overview of another page. Then the pages are automatically selected. Without clicking on the pages. And in most cases the touchscreen doesn't work. I've had that since the beginning when I bought the reMarkable 2. Was hoping an update would fix the problem. Because it is very annoying if the device starts making choices on its own that you do not want at all. I now have v2.10.0.324 and the problem persists. With a factory reset you don't lose anything because everything is in the cloud. I wonder if it really is a reset because the latest update version remains. Only the files will then be deleted. Which can be restored via the cloud.
Some weird things have been happening with mine too. Swiping and choosing certain options are not working correctly. Similar to this. It's probably from the update. 🤦🏾♀️
