I agree with taking shoes off before you walk further into a house & asking before you reach in the fridge or pantry, but for sitting on a dang couch?!?! Nah... I won't even bother coming over if I have to ask to sit on your couch!

billybassman21 I know one time I injured my toenail and someone tried to make me take my shows off in their house...it was really red and sore looking and I wasn't wearing any socks because I was wearing loafers so I just took them off finally like whatever and she was grossed out and told me to put my shoes back on...lol

I'm very clean about my living space but when it comes to inviting other people over, it's a different story. To me, when someone comes over the house, I want you to be as comfortable as possible. If it means having shoes on, go ahead. If you want to get something to eat, go ahead. I used to hate going over to other people's houses and they would be so uptight that they didn't want you to wear shoes, touch the vases, sit on a certain couch, etc. So I vowed that when I had my own place, I would make it as comfortable as possible for my guest.
Yes! My Aunt is that way. Her home is beautiful and sparkling clean! I be so worried to break something. I agree. I love a cozy/family atmosphere. Obviously still clean though!
I agree, I want people comfortable too. Not too comfortable where they want to stay forever but comfortable enough where they enjoy being at my house. Having such rigid household rules turns me off. I will have people come to my house or go out if their household rules are too rigid. If I'm having a group of people over then I let go of taking shoes off. If it's small amount of friends (1 or 2) then I have them take their shoes off. We've got to be real cool in order for me to allow people in my fridge.

+Angela Carlsson umm no me and my parents live in a six bedroom house,with tile floor throwout the entire house , I'm not even aloud to wear shoes in my room, only place I'm aloud to wear shoes is by the pool , my mom has OCD, she literally makes my golden retriever wear like little dog booties so he won't mess up the floored,if I leave for school without fixing my bed she literally sends me a text while I'm in class, my mom needs help 😂😂😂, and my dad just avoids the tornado that is her when she is cleaning . sometimes I wish we would just hire a maid 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 oh an I'm american we font let people have shoes on either

LOL Tamar probably doesn't mind sharing because she is the youngest and has a whole lot of siblings. I am the Older and I prefer people ask to use my things before they use it. My younger sister doesn't mind me using her things without asking, and even though she knows I hate for someone to grab something of mine without asking, she still will take my stuff without asking anyway. I just think out of respect no matter how close you are to someone you should ask before using anything. I find it most people I come across have more like a "Yours is mine" , "Mine is yours" mentality. Not me! I just think what if you are using my last thing, or heck! I paid for it.
My older sister and I are like that with food. She will bite your head off if you take from her plate or reach over or sip a drink without asking, something from the cabinets, even among siblings. But say if I had a drink she'll come right over, use the straw and take big ol' gulps of it without asking, she'll grab a french fry and if I say something she's all "Why you gotta be like that? Greedy with your siblings" Whaaaat?!
Ya'll need to stop playing because that has literally been my whole life. Lol. My sister is the oldest and always been stingy with her stuff. She will tear somebody's head off for not asking to use her things. But when it comes to me, I never minded. She would ask if she could use this or that and I'm like - why are you asking? Just take it. It's cool.

But that's so true. Notice, Tamar is the youngest, and Tamera is the oldest (I think). Tamera is super clean and responsible and all, while Tamar is like just do it, take it, say it if you feel it. :)
Not always true. I am the youngest and I am not too fond of just freely sharing my stuff without being asked first. This really has nothing to do with birth order at all but more so to do with the individual's personality.

1. your feet get smelly wearing shoes all day
2. it's hot and uncomfortable
3. it's dirty, i don't want anyone with dirty shoes in my house.

Thaleya1 is that something you see on TV, because relatively speaking the only time an American would really be wearing shoes in their house is when they have guests over. Otherwise, they're usually wearing flip flops (Florida as far as I know), socks, or they're barefoot.
I cut my friend I had like that loose. She tried to b all up in my closet tried to bring strange dudes with her to my house unannounced... just trifling

Only time shoes are in the house is if your running to grab something like water or sweater if you forgot.. mymom always tell me if you are gonna be in the house for more than 1 minutes. Shoes off
But it's their home and not yours. So I understand the OCD when it comes to people's things and stuff so you just gotta go with the flow and deal with it. If you don't like it then stay at home!

I just do/act in other people's homes what I like to have done in my home. I ask for food, I don't just go in their pantry.. unless it's at my parent's house lol! If their shoes are off I take mine off, and if they have a very beautifully decorated couch, I find a kitchen chair and pull it up to sit lol.
That's why it's best to ask FIRST.

If I'm close enough with you that I allow you into my home, I want you to be as comfortable as possible. If that means getting something from the fridge or putting your feet on my couch, then so be it. People who are close to me have sense enough not to walk through my home with dirty shoes or eat/drink my last of anything without asking.
I don't like when people where shoes in the house. Like think about everywhere you've walked. You were in the subway or it was raining or something, it's dirty. As for food in the fridge, I don't care unless it's something that is personally mine for later or something I made for somebody else.

Aquira Foster depending how much you consume, if it's an edible you can be high for days . That's why they tell you to never eat the whole edible.. eating things with weed cooked in this is totally different than smoking it.
The rule is If it's the last, slice, or last cookie or if it's the last of anything come and ask, don' just assume it's okay to help yourself. if there is an abundance of it then go ahead.
2:11 I wouldn't have a problem with that, BUT I started to bc my younger cousins (4 of them) eat up all the snacks. I am ok with them getting snacks, but the problem is they want to finish everything in one sitting. My uncle/ aunt are very strict with them and allow them to eat 1 snack every 2 weeks or more- yet buy ice cream, sodas, pan dulce, candy, and chips every week. They also have high technology restrictions, so whenever they come over I have one asking to play on the wii u, one on my computer, another on my laptop, and the 4th one asking for my sister's or my phone.

6. Clean up after yourselves!

But I would definitely judge someone who wouldn't let someone sit on their couch. I don't go into the fridge or whatever, but my friends and I and my partner are all, idk. Like you don't go into someone's fridge or whatever unless and until you've been over and been given free range of it explicitly a few times, ya know?
As a South Asian, we never wear shoes inside the house.
I get it your clean but im sorry life is short it is meant to be lived & enjoyed & PEOPLE are more important than material items! You never know when its the last time you will see someone. This is how i do NOT want to live my life.
Shoes should not be worn indoors, house slippers once you're inside and shoes off near the door
