If you have a flat ceiling, run the cabinets to the ceiling. It looks better, creates extra storage, gives a wonderful dimension to the room and can eadily be accessed with a step stool or a step ladder.
I bet they were rickety and the drawers were hard to open and close. The cute molding would have been a pain to keep clean. I'm just trying to give good reasons to justify the swap. 😂
They were MDF which looks great but if they get wet, they’re done. I live in the south and our house flooded in 2016 and we had mdf and those cabinets literally dissolved in our hands.
This is actually inspirational. I’m so tired of seeing the people who say that they are house flippers or whatever but they basically have an unlimited budget. Anyone can make something amazing with an unlimited budget. 😂 When you can do it on a budget like you’re doing, that’s real skill. You have your own show!
The old kitchen was to die for! My kitchen is so small- but I can’t complain too much because my husband worked so hard to get us the beautiful home we have right now… my only complaints is that we have 1 bathroom, and a small kitchen. Other than that, our home is absolutely perfect. It was $105k when we were 22. We are now 28- we did a rural home loan… and my husband now pays $890 a month in mortgage payments after he refinanced 😅 But it’s still a great deal on our home that we couldn’t afford anywhere else! So I’m grateful for what I have- and I would have LOVED the kitchen before and even after the remodel- but I still prefer the “old” kitchen. Both are beautiful 🥰
I think you could paint the hood grey or texturize it with another color for dimension and spray paint the light fixture black or brass. Kitchen looks awesome.
I don’t understand not having cabinets that go all the way up to the ceiling. Dust has to collect on top of those cabinets! No way am I getting a ladder out every month to dust the top of my kitchen cabinets lol You guys did a great job. It looks pretty.
😂 can’t tell too much difference between old and new the old didn’t look bad at all and probably could have done a couple small updates and had better quality cabinets with keeping the old ones a lot cheaper too. It’s hard to say because you flipped thru so quick I’m sure I’m person seems like a big difference but as far as video sadly no maybe a side by side comparison would have shown differences better.
We Have To remodel our kitchen or we’ll be washing dishes on the floor soon. I’ve been waiting on the details so that I could find the items you used!🥳
Looks lovely! Question: was the wooden/vinyl flooring under the old cabinets? I need to replace old cabinets and I have existing tiling which I want to cover with vf. Should I place the cabinets over existing tile or vf? I'd appreciate input, thanks!
Cool. An all white kitchen into an all white kitchen. The range hood is a cool change, but really not a big difference. I’m sure it is to your mom. That’s what matters most. And you all pitched in.
I saw a number of comments in favour of cabinets that go up to the ceiling. If you actually cook in there, no matter what hood you use, there will be steam. As warm air has a lower density than cold air, said steam will always move upwards. If you don't have space between your cabinets and the ceiling you will get moisture locked in there sooner or later, and that will turn into mold. Just the two cents of an architect, not telling you how to live your life.
Still never understand why ppl don’t mount the cabinets flush with the ceiling? Gives more workspace height on the counters and less to dust on the tops of the cabinets.
When I remodeled my kitchen I chose white cabinets and a medium grey formica that mimics granite. I got the look of granite without the price. No one has noticed the difference.... I see that they chose a marble look for the countertops. Mine is a quieter deeper stone look. It really depends on your taste. One thing I would suggest..tape together several of the tiny samples to get a better idea of what the countertops will look like. Leave them on the counter side by side for several days so you can see how it'll look at different times of the day and lighting.
Goodness!!!! We should have hired y'all to do our kitchen remodel and not the "professional building contractor" who was a friend of our mortgage broker. Even if we would've had to pay for travel, room and boarding for a week for everyone it would have cost us less and the quality of the work would have been a million times better. Mind you I have experience when it comes to remodels - I was an Installed Sales manager at Lowe's, we did kitchen and bath remodels - I knew the good the bad and the ugly that could happen. Not to mention my familiarity with the materials, lead times, quality, so on and so forth. When I tell you never in my days did I think I would be one of those folks who was like screw this, finish the punch list I've made for you and get the hell out of my house! Most of the stuff on the list was what we contracted for but for some reason they had to be told to get it done. It took almost an entire year- overall house sqft 1552. Never again, we thought we were gonna be better off going with a pro - $32,000 lesson learned. Still finding stuff that wasn't done right and needs to be fixed.
I love the transformation but the old kitchen wasn’t too bad!
If you watch some of the previous videos on it, the cabinets were in terrible shape and function.
Oh ok because I thought the same thing lol
The old kitchen was really pretty too
Honestly the old kitchen super cute
If you have a flat ceiling, run the cabinets to the ceiling. It looks better, creates extra storage, gives a wonderful dimension to the room and can eadily be accessed with a step stool or a step ladder.
And it’s cleaner. Those gaps gets super gross with dust and grease residue
Looks basically the same. 🤷
Did anyone else like the before cabinets? They were so cute and had so much more personality 😭
I bet they were rickety and the drawers were hard to open and close. The cute molding would have been a pain to keep clean.
I'm just trying to give good reasons to justify the swap. 😂

@@2wise4u2 not sure what mdf is but that makes sense!
@@flyushkifly haha it’s a good point!
@fluffybunny9534 mdf is wood fibers glued together, it's not good for moist environments 😁
80s kitchen looked much better tbh
Agree
That hood is not pretty
What’s wrong with the old kitchen? I like the old kitchen vibe
I liked the before AND the after.
This is actually inspirational. I’m so tired of seeing the people who say that they are house flippers or whatever but they basically have an unlimited budget. Anyone can make something amazing with an unlimited budget. 😂
When you can do it on a budget like you’re doing, that’s real skill. You have your own show!
The hood looks awkward.
Wow that looks incredible! Thanks for sharing!

You are a very appreciating lady and you understand your husband's hard work!! respect to you! Not many women think like you nowadays!
Girl, where you live the house price is amazing. I'm jelly. ___Comment from Cali
You didn't like that first kitchen? I liked the way that looked
The mdf cabinets were very water damaged
It looked perfect to me, but pics are deceiving
Ya, the 1st pic looked the same as the 2nd. But at least mom got new cabinets
I think you could paint the hood grey or texturize it with another color for dimension and spray paint the light fixture black or brass. Kitchen looks awesome.
Beautiful kitchens, both old and new, but your family is the most beautiful thing!
Beautiful transformation and beautiful family to work all together… such a beautiful gift
Thanks for not making us get patreon for extra info 😘
Hood looks terrible Lol 😂
It really does.
I agree, it just doesn't look right. If her mom likes it that's all that matters. It's her kitchen.
I don’t understand not having cabinets that go all the way up to the ceiling. Dust has to collect on top of those cabinets! No way am I getting a ladder out every month to dust the top of my kitchen cabinets lol
You guys did a great job. It looks pretty.
I don't think anybody is, it's more likely they just clean the top every 2 years 😂
Why? It was nice b4
The before cabinets looked better 😂😂😂😂

Your vision and execution is fabulous.👏👏. To every video I've seen.
Looks beautiful! You all did a great job!!!!🌟👍😊
It’s still white .
We Have To remodel our kitchen or we’ll be washing dishes on the floor soon. I’ve been waiting on the details so that I could find the items you used!🥳
Good luck on your renovation ❤
Sorry to burst your bubble. Lose the range-hood.
No offense but they look nearly the same lol
That hood looks terrible 😂
Beautiful ❤❤Wowwww.. when I’m ready to remodel my kitchen, your channel will be my first stop‼️Thank you for sharing your knowledge 😊
Will you show how you added trim to the top of the cabinets?
Why wouldn't you have the cabinets to the ceiling????
Add an island
The kitchen looks awesome, y’all did a fantastic job on your Mom’s kitchen, no wonder she’s over the moon! 😊
Looks lovely! Question: was the wooden/vinyl flooring under the old cabinets? I need to replace old cabinets and I have existing tiling which I want to cover with vf. Should I place the cabinets over existing tile or vf? I'd appreciate input, thanks!
I don't see anything wrong with old kitchen. 🤔
Hood vent over the oven made of plywood isn't it dangerous and flammable? 🤨
I really wish you did longer, tutorial style videos. Sending love from a fellow Georgian
Really very nice ❤❤❤

So much more inviting. Excellent!
I bet she payed over 10 k for this remolding. Not cheap! 😂
What tips might you have for Formica countertops? We just moved and our kitchen is an 80s nightmare. 😮
When I remodeled my kitchen I chose white cabinets and a medium grey formica that mimics granite. I got the look of granite without the price. No one has noticed the difference....

Embora linda , não vejo diferença em trocar uma cosinha branca por outra cosinha branca !!!😅😅😅
I would have just changed the doors of cabinets and boom😅 we have a transformation 😅
The new kitchen is beautiful. But I would have picked the old one.
Love the hood vent. Can you do an instruction video for that? I’ve been trying to figure out best way to build one.
Is so nice when “we” can do things for our parents and make them a little happier 👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Not sure about the plywood hood but the cabinets and hardware are nice.
It doesn’t look any better. But glad she likes it.
Ugh! Too much work. 😂
Looks amazing though.
Where did you find the rug so big, the ones I've seen are much smaller
Definitely a 90’s kitchen. Not 80’s
You did an amazing job. It looks beautiful.
theyr very very similar looool but that old cooker is really killing the whole look
Wow! So nice!
Can’t seem to find the blog… help? 😂
I would get a beautiful butcher block island for the middle of the room... but you guys did a beautidful job
Absolutely GORGEOUS
Damn lady, y’all did that. That kitchen looks beautiful!!!!!!
That safe to have a hood vent made of wood? Can't it catch fire?
🎉 to moving the microwave from over the stove.
Old stove still lol I’m just saying
Where’s the price you paid?
I wish the cabinets went all the way up to the ceiling.
I detest hood vent microwaves.
Oven vent design total dust and dirt trap.
Wow, your mom is beautiful
Can I hire you to do my kitchen ❤
Do you know how to do a concrete sink?
Ooh that hood vent is paaaatchy! 😢
Y’all ruined it. It has so much character and personality before
Beautiful ❤
There is to much white😫
Love that it's "The" Home depot...lol...my gramma used to call walmart "The Walmarts" made me think of her...also u go girl

That hood vent is trash
You must be a contractor
Wow! Looks awesome!❤
WOW BEAUTIFUL ❤
Beautiful 😊
Did anyone catch where the cabinets came from?
Home Depot, they said it several times
How did you paid?
You two are amazing!! The kitchen looks gorgeous.
Thank you 💐
Amazing! I can only hope my children are gonna be this kind enough to do something like this for me when I get older 😅😊
Not needed
