Skills that rely on concealment are a bit situational, but can likely be used much more reliably when you give the soldier also the gene mod that allows them to automatically conceal in high cover or when they have the skill that allows them to automatically conceal when no enemy sees them.
unless i am mistaken he did the black site mission many months ago - unless you are talking about the forge mission that results from researching the vial
I think Chosen activation skill that freezes the timer, also freezes the waves site-rep, since it should be spawning every turn since the first one that pops-up, until you clear the main objective.
It didn't the last time I faced a chosen with waves. They keep coming every turn even with the chosen. With these missions it's far better if you get as close to the objective as possible, or you're in for a rough ride.
edit: Ah, I faced the hunter in my campaign who was still technically off map which explains why they kept spawning with me. Good to know, the chosen pauses it!
Yeah, I definitely look forward to you getting back into more story games, Been so long.. And there is definitely some good ones coming, maybe even try more indie short ones, "Still wakes in the deep" is one I always felt sad you skipped.
Looking at those missions with Ethereals, Legates and other stuff, it feels like the training wheels are off after 100 episodes and now the crunch begins xD Or at least it feels like the missions you have now are going to be insane and ADVENT caught up with their force level to you. Considering there is not much more tech progression, mostly the not yet unlocked skills left, I would say you have to start removing enemies (Chosen, EXALT) and moving the campaign on the double. Cause if the enemies can still become more powerful (There are stil some "Unknown Enemies" to be discovered apparently) then I don't know if they won't become too OP to beat soon.
We are finally doing main story stuff. I laughed so hard when the Commander forgot about the existence of the Shadow Chamber, it was so long ago Good luck, enemies are popping off now.
I've been trying the campaign on my own and the extra pod sizes are KILLING me and I feel like earlier in Odd's campaign we didn't feel it since it wasn't there but early game it's such a soul crusher and I think that should be balanced in some way for earlier Force Levels
Your progression seems to be constrained primarily by countering Dark Events. With up to 6 DEs being pushed at once, 1-2 of them are "must-counters" thats 4 missions a supply drop at a minimum, against enemies whose high HP enable them to consistently inflict wounds on you. Imo, DEs need to be tuned down, 20%-30% less of them, more inconvenience DEs rather than campagin de-railing DEs. This would mean the opportunity cost goes from campaign loss vs progression, to gradual death-by-thousand-cuts vs progression - a calculation that more often results in progression being the choice than under the current paradigm.
That sounds like a better mix, I agree. Tons of individual DEs would change up gameplay constantly, rather than countering every one that matters so nothing really changes except campaign length.
I understand your point about being able to just spend a couple of turns at the start resupplying ammo to everyone. Thematically, though, it doesn't make much sense that handing or tossing ammo to your buddy right next to you would break concealment. I think the earlier ideas of either putting a 1-turn cd on the ability, or limiting it to something like 4-5 charges per mission, would be just fine.
*-Megapol R&D Project 28 Status Update-* As instructed, preparations have for code 78 have been made. With most of our team already on standby, the process was relatively quick. Only a handful of key personnel members remain, including myself. We will continue data analysis until the next phase of the Project begins.
The 4-tile skill (close & personal?) is working fine in my campaign Odd, think it may have something to do with the knight/shield class interaction. Might be worth checking in with the modder for that class?
If you want Resupply Ammo to feel less cheesy, then only have it resupply regular ammo regardless of any special ammo the soldier with the ability has equipped. Then you have no reason to use it while concealed at the beginning of a mission. On that note, it might be worth looking into the mods that make proving ground items buildable after the initial research is completed. Just make special ammo types expensive and/or require an Elerium core or alloys if you're worried about buying your way into OP status, but arguably, having to pay for special ammo you want to equip is still more honest than having a soldier with Resupply Ammo spam it to the squad for free.
Over 100 episodes is still not enough 😂 a simple change for a shorter season would be for half the dark events to be countered by a single mission. Some of the harder ones (made whole, etc.) could still be 2 or require an infiltration. I think XP is also really slowing you down. The amount needed for max levels is pretty crazy when you only gain a few per mission.
I did find it funny when he read the description of the Heavy Cannon last episode and described how it CANNOT miss, and then he immediately put a Stock on it to still do damage in case it misses Oh wait, after watching the episode I guess I misunderstood how it works, I thought it couldn't miss but did less damage through cover, not that it did less damage AND could also miss
@@mojojomoo Yeah, I saw that. Don't believe it was finished. Just a little into part 2 if I'm not mistaken. They were also very unfamiliar with the systems too. I'm talking about a playthrough with a level of competence closer to that displayed when Odd is playing XCom.

Duchess' skill as you read does say "primary RIFLE", so maybe her shield+onehander build negates it.
