What most don’t realize is that most modern engagements happen well beyond visual range. The 35 would smoke those 109s before anyone could see anybody.

Not to mention the blast radius of an air-to-air missile is large enough to take out several Fighters if they are flying in a World War II formation
The other thing is even if the Me -109 is behind the F-35 it isn't safe. They can target aircraft behind them too. The Me-109 wouldn't even know it was being targeted. It had no equipment that warned against radar.

Hate to take it back to this, but can you do D-Day once more but with everything modernized. Tanks, planes, artillery, troops, ships, air support, the whole thing. I've always wondered what it would look like if D-day where happen today.
Beaches would probably be uncontested, but with drone recon spotting for MLRS artillery, radar installations for anti-ship and anti-air missiles.
Attackers would be launching SEAD missions while attempting to establish air superiority, and only sending in landing craft if they can win the air war first.

Thanks to computer simulations we can find out how a small group of modern fighter jets will do against a massive array of WW2 fighters. Only in a good simulation can such wild battles take place, without anyone getting hurt. To me it's the stuff of Sci-Fi.

I was under the impression that the 35 could track and engage multiple targets simultaneously. These 35’s were engaging one by one. And I don’t care who you are “Cheat Mode” is funny
I are those missles radar guided? I thought they were heatseekers and if so they would probably not get a lock on a piston engine would they?

A piston engine doesn't burn anywhere near as hot as a jet does. There's a VERY slim chance that a heat seaking missile would be able to lock onto, let alone track a piston engine plane.
You mean Bf 109, actually the Bf 109s would have the low altitude advantage because their airframe is more aero
What? You think an F-35 airframe has more drag than a 109? The advantage goes to the jet, which can dictate the terms of the engagement because of its huge amount of thrust.

Just as in the Falklands war the supersonic jets are superior at high altitude however subsonic aircraft have the advantage at low altitude

Modern us fleet vs zeros
Speed, altitude and radar would enable the element of surprise every time. Granted that the Me-109 would be a better dogfighter in a turning fight.
Yeah if it was fighting a pigeon maybe. Zero chance against an F 22 or F 35
I think in a situation like this, the F-35's would more than likely come in at an altitude that the 109's couldn't contend with, launch missiles and call it a day. As for the guns only, two ways to go about that. 1) Use your superior speed and blow through the 109 formation, get out of range turn around and repeat. 2) Take it vertical. The Me-109 could not hope to compete with the F-35 in either speed or climbing ability.
Technology and the past. War is upside down turned into chaos.

No contest, modern navy would smoke’em in a day. Nearly all modern navy weapons target and destroy well beyond visual range. Our sensors would find them, our jets and long range missiles would destroy them before the Japanese could even begin to figure what and where.....

Unconventional battle against a guerilla army that doesn’t have to win a single engagement just not lose the will to fight and wait for you to lose your taste for war. This is not how an F-35 would fight. At low altitudes like this, even with the power pulled back to 50% the jets would go through fuel quickly. Also, how many A2A weapons does the F-35 carry? Seems they'd run out pretty quickly and have to make gun kills.
