Supermarkets are profiteering, they will still post annual profits in the billions, this bloke is a real stool, what he should be doing is cutting prices like the others should be. Marks food prices are thirty five percent up since August, not fifteen, they are mostly empty compared to summer, everyone is going to Aldi and Lidl were it's cheaper.
Supermarkets have shareholders and they have a responsibility to them to run the business for profit. Absolutely people should consider shopping around and decide where to buy their weekly shopping.
I've been downsizing amd shopping only for staples the past couple of months and the rest of stuffs i prepped occasionally. This guy got none of access into my wallet or weekly budget.
That’s a business plan at its finest. The prices creep up (for inferior products compared to your top supermarkets) but u still think ur getting a good deal.
I was wondering why ASDA prices had drastically increased, then I see this guy is now chairman of the board at ASDA’s, now implementing M&S prices at ASDA’s
Good to know someone else has noticed. Shopping at M&S expecting it to be higher prices. Go to Asda and get shocked, thought price fixing was gone, but no it’s alive and kicking in Asda.
ASDA gives emergency services staff 10% off. M & S doesn't. No other supermarket in my area does. Overall, using this discount, ASDA is cheaper for my weekly food shop.
Finally an honest man answering questions honestly and intelligently but years too late. So sad to see the end of the United Kingdom and the coming misery for at least half of the people.
I understand we have to get infatuation down, what I'm struggling to understand is, if this is due to global issues. Why are interest rates going up. Isn't that usually to curb demand. But Isn't this inflation about lack of supply? Can someone explain. I'm at my wits end on how I pay my mortgage.
We are being lied to by mainstream politicians and mainstream journalists who just reinforced the government's arguments. I find Mick lynch to be the best advocate of the interests of working class people. The labor party is totally toothless
Time for the Prime Minister to show some leadership and sit down with the Union leaders and negotiate agreements that cover terms and condition and pay levels. Every day wasted with employees on strike is another operation missed at a hospital or business meeting cancelled with no trains running.
Buying " sell by date" products reduced accordingly saves pounds, supermarkets have there own shelves for these items. And buy and eat cheap meals. Tin beans n sausage, block cheese, 6 eggs, this meal is cheap and nutrition plus

Wages do not cause inflation. Inflation is caused by many things, including shortages and excessive profiteering often met by the demands of "THE SHAREHOLDERS"; who happen to be the CEO'S and company executives, etc.
My business sales are a 10th of what they were last year. I blame the posties. I am still able to donate to food banks however. £10 a day on energy though ffs.

Nice warm studio, just like the house of Lords with the heating on maximum. It's only going to be tuff for the poor. The tories and their wealthy friends and financial backers will be perfectly fine. Mps still stuff their faces with fine food and alcohol in the well heated commons bars . They're still enjoying the 40%, payrise they gave themselves not so long ago. Still fiddling expenses claims and of course the second homes bought and renovated at the taxpayers expense. Mps even get to keep any profit if they are sold. So don't sit there and pretend that Lords give a toss about the ordinary taxpayers or the poor and disabled people who will suffer to protect the wealthy.
The ultra-rich now giving a tiny bit back to the general public isn't enough. It's sad that this is the best that the Tories have to offer. That this "Lord" is even mentioning the possibility of getting a trade deal with the USA is laughable. His idea of helping the economy is buying another bespoke suit from the local tailor.

Both political patties to blame. Rejoining EU will not get them all back but being out will force government to renationalise most of what has been sold. Come back Jeremy Corbyn all is forgiven.

Funnily enough we used to spend £100 a week at Asda & switched to Lidl &now we get more& it only costs about £60-£70
And £20 in fuel getting there. Well done for saving £8
We spend a similar amount at Lidl, not so long ago the same stuff cost around £55.

ask him what is the importance of an annual salary of £1,130,000 at M&S to his disposable income
