thankyou for some great memories ,trams before my time but i remember all the places you showed has i grew up in Firth Park ,also remember the bridge that had the road lowered by 4 foot flooding most winters ,again thanks and hopefully see you on the roads in your new Auto-Trail
another great video, fantastic to see whats left of the old tram depots, wasnt there one on Townhead street in the city centre, lot of the guys that worked at Greenland road bus depot came fron there when it closed, see you at the Transport Museum next time your down there, cheers Dave
Excellent that i really enjoye'd that and the bus group that was previously in that first Tram shed i helped move a load of bus spares with one of my old trucks when they moved out and im so glad its not been demolished.
Great video. I grew up near Sheffield. Many memories of the trams in Sheffield. My great-grandfather was a tram driver. I was always told that he drove the first electric tram from Sheffield to Rotherham in the 1900’s.
A brilliant video, however, you have missed one. The pole on Prince of Wales Road is not the only one left. There is at least one more in existence on Abbeydale Road. It is on the left between Crommock Road and Archer Road. I pass it regularly and it was still there on Sunday 9th October 22. I do believe there are other.
Yes, the old Sheffield trams were beautiful in colour design and appearance. It seems as if we are not allowed to have this now in transport and art. That is why so many people flock to the museums and heritage railways and the man in the street couldn't give a fig about modern art!
Excellent video. Some I knew of, some I didn't, so many thanks for that. Regarding that long abandoned single tram pole, I may have an explanation for why it was left. Many years ago in Fleetwood, there was a former tramshed at Copse Road, that had, for many years, been a chimney factory and then later, a car sales room. One single pole survived there in the yard outside and as it got in the way of the new owner's plans, they eventually removed it However, almost immediately, all sorts of weird stuff started happening, all to do with electrical issues. Apparently it was an "earth", to stop all those things happening and that is why it had been left insitu. They had to earth the area another way, instead of replanting it as it had been scrapped by then, but they did and then all the electrical shenanigans stopped. So maybe, just maybe, that's the case here too? Not saying it is, but .....!

Your name suggests you come from Kiveton Park. Spent my childhood living In Kiveton. My fathers family lived in the village from the 1900’s.
