You’ll notice Julian Casablancas (of the Strokes) on the far right. He produced the album (1st and only for Los growlers) 🤘

I don't understand why you could hate this. Artists work so hard on their work, man. It is new but each Growlers album is a little different sounding than the other, and it's quite beautiful. Julian may have helped in creating it but I feel like it blends both their styles together seamlessly.

She lives in pans at the end of this prism
The love sprouts from the decay
The night's pulsing, streets are convulsing
    Dark libations through the bray
    [Pre-Chorus]
I stop trying to make sense of it all
Start sniffing around the continous strife
Grab fear by a strange hand
Sweet neglection in her own right
    [Chorus]
I wouldn't change her, trade or ditch
I love her just the way she is
All of her flaws and frizz
Don't care what anybody says about her
    [Verse 2]
She has a spear and a vow of mother nature
You'll never know what she'll do
    Hardened from her mysterious sun
I'm not a muse, I play the fool
    [Pre-Chorus]
I stop trying to make sense of it all

Grab fear by a strange hand
Keep her cool under the pale moonlight

Exactly. If you listen to Chinese Fountain (the song) there's already an element of City Club in there. what's the point of making another album that sounds the same. Then these "fans" will claim growlers are a one trick pony that can't do anything different.

Well, I think my initial feelings towards their collaboration made a lot of sense. The Growlers are my favourite band, so I guess it goes without saying that I was pretty happy with their previous sound.
And since I also love Julian's music I know that he has a very specific production style but just because it works with his music doesn't mean it will go well with someone else's. My concern was that he would add too much of his sound to the Growlers' and they'd lose their identity. But it turns out I really like what they've come up with together, even though Julian's influence is pretty evident. (but a lot of people, as you can probably tell by the comments, do feel like they sound like the Strokes now so there's that...)
But if it's the word "worried" that bothers you, I'm sorry, English is not my first language.

Don't care what anybody says about her
She has a spear and a vow of mother nature
You'll never know what she'll do
    Hardened from her mysterious sun
I'm not a muse, I play the fool
I stop trying to make sense of it all
Start dancing around the continous strife
Grab fear by a strange hand
Keep her cool under the pale moonlight
I wouldn't change her, trade or ditch
I love her just the way she is
All of her flaws and frizz
    Don't care what anybody says
I wouldn't change her, trade or ditch
I love her just the way she is
All of her flaws and frizz
Don't care what anybody says about her

I don't understand why people are hating on this new album. I think it's fucking amazing, just like all of their previous albums!
