@@goranandrijasevic2534 Counters from earlier decades counted frames per second, so they were still in double digits after the second but they only went to 24 or 30
I am thrilled and moved by BBC opening songs. We sometimes skip Japanese news and switch channels to BBC wow! wanna buy BBC mug cup as my best amiga had one in the UK So far way from Japan.
wow, I didn't know that people in Japan watched our news channels! how is it like over there, are there Japanese language channels or do you watch the normal English language channels? I sometimes watch Japanese news (I think it's NHK but in English or something, it's pretty cool.) over here in the UK because I wonder what happens there! Greetings from Scotland in the UK!
Worst version of the countdown they've done. The music's unchanged so that's disappointing, logo is the blandest yet and the countdown itself is hard to see but is somehow visible enough to distract from what's going on in the background. It doesn't feel professional at all. It's like a mock up someone's done in their bedroom.
the 2013 version is just timeless, it honestly doesn't need changing and is perfect the way it sounds. Although some subtle changes have been made to the music since 2013.
The 2013 countdown music is immortal!
Four BBC News Channel rebrands and the same epic music they began using in March 2013 remains! Wonderful!
The music of which is actually taken from the 1999 version, revised many times in various eras.
@@UltramanMebiusBrave but there isn't any references to the 1999 theme outside of the pips.
@@MirkoMazzoni2000there are, actually, like the chord progression and some instrument choices like that indian drum you hear faintly at 1:16
Interesting how the seconds are now divided into centiseconds rather than frames.
Yes, sorry to see the 1/24ths go but as it’s not BBC News 24 it’s not so apt now.
@@christophernevell7524 Ah I did wonder what was the reason behind the change. I like it though.
It was 25ths, matching the frame rate.
@@cat1554 ~ Definitely 24ths before. Pause on the old countdowns and the fractions are between zero and 23.
@@christophernevell7524 Nope! The 2019 countdown went from 24 to 0. 25ths.
Honestly speaking, BBC's change of graphics in countdown was like a test screen that commonly seen inside broadcast studios.
i just noticed how the new countdowns include all 1/100ths seconds and not just the 24 or 30 frames per second
Actually, it's a 30th of a second.
It displays two digits after the decimal point. Therefore they are hundredths of a second. If you think otherwise state the reason.

this style is just genius. i think this is amazing
What a banger!
Astonishing music composer 😅

Didn’t someone make a mock years ago that is nearly identical to this countdown? Lol
Unless you quote the source you are suspected of remarking slanderously.
Love it!
WE ARE MAKING THIS SONG OUT OF THE NEWS WITH THIS ONE 🥶🥶🗣️🗣️🥶🥶🥵🥵
Is there like a game where you try and do as much as humanly possible before the news begin after hearing the countdown?
I do. Whenever I hear the tune, I am like _Oh shit, it's time!"_
Who is the presenter on the video at the 36s mark or 54s on the video please?
I know this comment was 10 months ago but the presenter you mention is Tina Daheley

There used to be a BBC Japan channel but it shut down.

was wondering why the countdown looked different on BBC World News America on PBS
Because on PBS it's not taking the feed live so they are still behind.

Who is the man at 10 seconds ( left of the countdown)?
Matthew Amroliwala.
I cut pieces of this and use it as my ringtone
Me too.
if they add the bbc logo in the middle, it would be even worse

Çok güzel bir tema müziği 👍
I suddenly realized how funny it would be to play the song HOT-CANDY on the bbc countdown today.
Slightly out of sync here
Heard/saw a different countdown 05:00 13th April with no whooshes and coloured lined - BBC World feed with Sally Bundock.
This normally played at 10pm

They're still using acoustic song.

Not a fan of the timer being in the centre of the screen. EEK
BBC Alba did it first.

Works well when you're at work watching the television and waiting for the news to start...
Or countdown to the end of a day's work.
Totally agree the countdown is in the wrong position- bottom thirds would be better

it's almost identical to a mock up someone actually did in their bedroom a few years back lmao
I think it's time they changed it up a bit, it's gotten boring.
