I live just outside of Nashville, so the reference to the Covenant School shooting made me cry and made me remember why my child is homeschooled. Lots of great perspectives on difficult subjects. While there's a few we may differ on the only thing that stuck out to me as being incorrect was your comment on Russia starting the whole mess in Ukraine. Don't get me wrong, none of what i am about to say justifies invading Ukraine, they were wrong for doing so and nothing changes that, but the situation is alot more complex then that statement conveys. The Ukraine war really began with our (The US) backing/instigation of the "Maidan protests" back during the Obama administration. We had long been aware that Russia had it's own "red line" having to do with what it considers it's buffer states against NATO, and more importantly their access to a warm water port in Crimea. The US government was well aware that Russia was highly likely to respond to our meddling in Ukraine with some form of military response. It appears our government judged that a war in Ukraine would be highly detrimental to Russia in the medium to long term, and decided the Ukrainians who would be affected by all this were acceptable as collateral damage in exchange for putting strain on Russia's military/economy/political situation. Whether this startegy/gamble winds up being effective or comes back to bite us in our ass, like so many before is still up in the air. It's basically an attempt to repeat our strategy employed in Afghanistan during the Cold War, to force Russia into "it's own Vietnam" as Brzezinski said about that conflict back before the eventual blowback occurred when it looked like the strategy had been an outstanding success. This (on top of the profits for the M.I.C) is likely why our government is so deadset on continuing the war in Ukraine despite the unpopularity of it with voters, it takes time for this kind of conflict to really put strain on a country like Russia, they need this thing to go on as long as possible to maximize the effect. All things considered, an excellent reaction and thank you for your service.

I never had a problem before but I do disagree with our children getting hormone blockers I also disagree with drag queens coming into the school. I also have huge issues with books such as Gender Queer which shows actual sexual acts in it. This is not okay to expose small children to. Nor would I want penthouse or playboy in school libraries. If you’re 18 do you but I should have a choice of what my children are being exposed to. I pay taxes and shouldn’t have to pull my children out of school to protect them from what goes against my beliefs.
