I misread the title as “magician” - and I was confused how you were gonna give the tips - but now that I’ve seen the vid, I realize you are both a magician and a musician. Your editing skills are so super legit. Loved when the wind blows on the audio and make sure your hats on tight. Man Danny your ability to use actually relevant b-roll is everything. This is what makes me want to decrease my upload schedule next year - so I could get this on point b-roll action. AND I TOOK HER ON IT AND NOW WE’RE MARRIED. Ahh I lost it.
Right on! Very informative. I know over 400 songs, can actually play half of them, while 150 of those make up my 4 different 45min sets, as a solo entertainer. Whiler I'm very versatile, I'd love to play with a Party Band on any ship. I love to feel the energy of other musicians.
Amazing that after two yrs of posting this there are NO dislikes! Wow, and even more amazing is that you met ur wife on a cruise 🥰 all the best to you two 🙏🏻💕

Hi Danny. Now that the pandemic is getting back.. I would really like to become a cruise ship musician. I am a jazz pianist and all what you've said sounds fantastic. Please, let me know which agencies are key if I want to start to apply for this kind of jobs. Cheers! Eze
I want this job! I can sing but I can't play. Yet. How good do your guitar skills have to be? Can you use looping pedals? Did you need to learn to sight read?
Hey friends, I've worked on cruise ship as a photographer manager for a couple years and I had the opportunity to play some gigs with the cruise director and have some fun, since then EVERYONE said I should be a musician instead for many reasons, well... The truth is, I have skills to play, but I don't have reading skills at all. I know you're a solo entertainer, but I guess joining on a band having the read skill of quite necessary, isn't? The songs I've played I knew most of it, some I learned overnight just by listening (weren't difficult). I really want to go as musician, I just don't know where to start. By the way, thanks for your tips and sharing nice videos.
Hi thanks for the comment. Ya having to read music is a tough task for sure. Luckily as you said in my position it isn’t required. What are you up to now?
Howdy Danny! Doing good? So... I am a full-time professional singer and guitarist musician based in a large metropolis here in Brazil. I work approx. 250 to 300 gigs a year, at an estimated 2h30min each. Got very interested after watching a few videos about that Cruise Ship gig. I speak fluent english, fluent portuguese and advanced spanish. My range is baritenor, going from a G2 to an A6, and I studied most vocal techniques from almost all the main musical genres popular in worldwide radios today, even including reggaeton hits. I am a not-so-great guitar player, sucking almost entirely on jazz and fusion, but doing easy work in other areas like rock, pop, blues, reggae, indie, surf music and etc. as well. My repertoire goes between 400 and 500 songs singing and playing at the same time. I know entire cover shows from the following bands: Maroon 5, Coldplay, U2, The Weeknd, Justin Timberlake and Justin Bieber. My rig is definetly packed, using for vocals a Neumann KMS105 and a Telefunken M80 with a TC Helicon VoiceLive 3 Extreme and for guitar a Fender ST62 Strat with a Line6 Helix LT stompboard in a Fender Twin Reverb 1967. Do you think my resume, plus making a great video (which I am currently producing a full 8min one with a few solo acoustic songs, duo songs and band songs, all in live environments; as I write this comment) and a nice big and organized catalog can help me stand out and get that gig faster than usual with a nice deal? Actually... Do you even think I have the chance to get it, since I live in Brazil? I currently applied for ProShip, but still waiting to fill out the sheets for Suman, Landau, Warshaw, Lime and Quality Overseas. Did I miss any agency here? And would you recommend MusiciansForCruises.com? Which agency would you recommend me for best deals and/or best at taking care of the musician? And which cruise company do you think I can focus more, hence my repertoire being heavily focused on mainstream pop music? Appreciate your kind guidance. Best regards, Iago Vital.
Love the video. Really enjoyed it 👏. I have a question. Can you play blues, rock as a Solo Musician on a Cruise Ship? I’m a solo musician who plays with tracks and mostly the Tourists circuit (all the hits, classics etc) but I do one gig a week where I get to play blues & rock etc and it’s my favourite gig of the week (as they are my favourite genres) and I was wondering if that’s possible to do on a cruise ship? I haven’t been on a cruise ship so I don’t know if there would be a demand for that type of gig?

families dont typically work together... ive seen people meet and get married from being on ships and work their contracts together... at the same time ive seen people work on ships and they can get their wife on for up to 1 month... as far as kids it really depends on how high up you are in the ranks to have them on
Helo.danny.im shabbir 48yrs from india mumbai. I always wished to work on a cruise ship since i was 21yrs. But my qualification didnt worked out. I onced had an interview call from a pvt agent. But they rejected me bcoz my height was 3cm less in 170cm requirement. That was an stupid thing which i came to knew. Well i still wishes to work on a cruiseship and learn more about it. Do families work together? Like if I got a contract could my wife and kids come?
families dont typically work together... ive seen people meet and get married from being on ships and work their contracts together... at the same time ive seen people work on ships and they can get their wife on for up to 1 month... as far as kids it really depends on how high up you are in the ranks to have them on
How long was your contract for your first gig?
I did three 6 months contracts and two 4 months
Helo.danny.im shabbir 48yrs from india mumbai.
I always wished to work on a cruise ship since i was 21yrs.
But my qualification didnt worked out.
I onced had an interview call from a pvt agent.
But they rejected me bcoz my height was 3cm less in 170cm requirement.
That was an stupid thing which i came to knew.
Well i still wishes to work on a cruiseship and learn more about it.
Can u help me to work out for me?espcially in field like general crew worker/galley worker/kitchen helper/asst store keeper/counter worker of foods.etc
Well my age is growing so might be i would be on rejecting side.
But i have a little hope of getting a short time job on it.
So.will u help me out in it?

Is it possible to get your own room?
If you are a soloist ... guitar/singer or piano/singer you get your own cabin
Danny!!
è facile essere cacciati via però!
Overall what do you rate the job out of 100
Tough to rate because it was a dream job that changed my life ... there are some down sides like not having fast internet all the time and being away from the family but the trade offs would put it like 98
I am that cubicle guy. Lol
musician watching this in my cubical...
lol.’get on board!!!!!
NEW SUPPORTER FROM PUSA
So subbed. Hmm can I have your email as you told on vídeo?
Hey marlon. I took my email down because I don’t actually know what’s happening with ships yet, but hopefully will know in March... if you want to contact lime entertainment they might be able to help
Well, I'm gay and I'm planning to work on cruise ship. I'm just not sure if crew is gay friendly. Are there many homophobes? How is it like for gays to date there?
There are so many gays on ships. I have a lot of gay friends and no homophobes at all .
